yup, normally if tourists you can drive on foreign licenses no problem. police really got not time or mood to go catch you.

it's redundant piece of paper mostly

Obviously never been caught before. IDP is needed - dont assume all police outside of Malaysia is like ours - no time to care.

Anyone can apply for you, but they need you license, photos.. RM150 any JPJ

Not too sure about Japan but in Korea, you need IDP to rent the car. But countries like Aus and most EU countries don't need any IDP to rent/drive around.

if you're in a commonwealth country, can use our license. 99% of the countries at least.

went travelling around europe also no need international license.

lived in australia for many years also no need international license. if police catch you, just show your malaysian license, and tell them which one is your birthdate la.

i use IC also never got into any prob also.

Hi folks ,

I need your advice on applying JPJ IDP. I would like to apply for JPJ IDP as I am going to Japan next week.
I hold a malaysia driving license, but I'm living in Hong Kong.
Is there anyway I can still apply JPJ IDP , like via internet or someone apply it for me ?
*
Hi I just applied recently,

I asked the counter staff and they said you can nominate someone to apply on behalf just have to present them a letter.

Ask your family and friend to help you la.

Thats all, have a nice day.
