I think they used NVIDIA's Tegra K1 chip on the Nexus 9 to hold-up against the likes of the NVIDIA Shield Tablet.
Hence, the 64-bit SoC, just a placeholder maybe?

the hardware seems solid, but the battery is same size as Mipad? it's a bigger body and higher res screen, can expect about the same batt life as Mipad

N9 design looks ok, something like Z3 Tablet would be even better

by the way, those that think nexus 5 will drop price after the release the nexus 6...i don think so, i foresee the price for nexus 5 will getting higher due to demand, at least it will not drop that fast also as google will maintain nexus 5 and nexus 6 together.

N5 hasn't even reach 1 year old, lol. (end of this month) Doubt anyone here already pass warranty.

Who say so? It will work but slower charging rate. With 3amps of current people will flood the forum about their Nexus being dead in few months, weeks even. I'm not fond of this fast charging, it just kills the battery faster. Just read on Oppo forum about their phone with fast charging.
