I would be using the N5 too if not for its only 5 inch display. Bought from Techbug n resold it immediately after received as the 5 inches was just too small for me. Now I look forward to owing the N6 with 6 inch display. Hopefully can have it by n after mid Nov !

LTE on Nexus 5 isn't that stable.. getting the signal on and off but being dropped to 3G most of the time.

Whereas for the same simcard, it's rock solid on iPad mini retina.... anyone notice the same behavior?

LTE works fine on my N5. Using meksis.

Stable on mine, Maxis as well.
TBH I dont use LTE anymore ( unless 3G signal not stable or weak, will open LTE see how ), HSPA+ is quite fast enough for my browsing need, and less battery hungry than LTE 

Yeah if I force it, it does indeed become LTE...

Otherwise it has the tendency to drop to 3G. I just let it auto choose then (not sure if it will kill battery)
