2 must Nexus checklist
- Battery Life
- Camera
laugh.gif
*
both nexus 6 & 9 pricing are double if compare with past nexus:

Nexus 7 2012 = 199
Nexus 9 2014 = 399

Nexus 5 2013 = 349
Nexus 6 2014 = 649

is Google aims for Apple-like margins? wink.gif
first nexus tablet selling cheap to boost the volume, but now seem like google not interested on the quantity anymore but margins?

For some reason, I'm willing to believe that they actually cut cost at some places for nexus 5, hence we were able to get the cheap price. Most obvious would be battery and camera for nexus 5. The only glaring weakness of it.

The question about nexus 6 for me isn't actually the price. It's about the battery and camera. If both of them are great and improved by alot ( when i say alot, lets say its up to par with z3 battery level and iphone camera snappiness ) . All those on top of nexus branding and lollipop. It might just be the perfect phone for me. biggrin.gif

this is some standard common smartphone BOM for references:
Display & Touch Screen = 41.00
Wireless Modem = 32.00
Mechanical = 28.00
SoC = 19.00
32GB NAND Flash = 18.80
Sensor = 15.00
Camera(s) = 13.00
DRAM = 11.00
Manufacturing Cost = 8.00
Power Management = 7.50
Box Contents = 7.00
WLAN/BT/GPS = 4.20
Battery = 3.60

+ sales margin (most pricey factor here) and shipping cost = final selling price

battery and camera are not really a huge impact on the pricing....

Quick question to those on Lollipop: When you're on mobile data 3G, do you see H only or there's H+?
*
No. H+ sure don't have in stock. But my H only show a while then disappear, dunno why.

QUOTE(RyoKenzaki @ Oct 28 2014, 11:48 AM)

I search Gravity in my Google Play Movies & TV App, but no option for me to add to library for FREE hmm.gif hmm.gif
I just can see:

Choose an option:
Watch in standard definition (SD) or high definition (HD) on supported devices. Watch in standard definition (SD) on the web.

$17.99 HD - $9.99 SD

why ? hmm.gif hmm.gif hmm.gif

If it's free for you, it should be there on the main screen once you click in the app. Btw, try clearing app data as I heard that works for others. biggrin.gif

yeah... this should be the spec of Nexus 6
*
but haih.... disappointed. furthermore this is first nexus with double up pricing but still yet not the best....
all nexus ex-vendors across htc, samsung, lg and now motorola, all the same. not sure is google or vendor decision, the best spec for each component won't happen in nexus devices.

QUOTE(Someonesim @ Oct 29 2014, 10:53 AM)
5.2" QHD I think is overkill, if maintain 1080P, remove the capacitive button and V logo, and also all the crap bloatware, then really  drool.gif
*
QHD is follow trending, is ok nvm. but capacitive should remove as we can see LG & HTC already follow on screen buttons. motorola bloatware consider much lesser than rest. if google still no change on 2015 nexus, then I want to consider jump ship liao shakehead.gif

Ya, but 5.2" QHD really over kill IMO, 6" QHD sounds delicious.

Nexus 6 is quite good already for the spec and price, all top of the line spec. Yes, when we compare to Droid Turbo, the n6 batt is tiny but Droid series is unique on it's own, last time with Droid Maxx  drool.gif .
TBH, I'm more angry at Moto X 2014, upgraded screen, SoC, camera but battery just give you tiny tiny extra  doh.gif
*
ya, that's the drawback, only 2300 mAh doh.gif
how much Moto X 2014 selling now for original set?

What's holding me back is it was released 1+ year ago and the poor battery life. Other than that I like everything about this phone.
*
now is better than 1+ year ago. because of Lollipop, the idle time really much improved than before when turn on battery saver mode. KK don't have this feature....

anyway, I wanna as everyone here too, most dev community support is nexus no doubt, and after is OnePLus One. what else? Moto G, X? which other phone have good dev community support?

Any of you encounter case like this ? It happen previously in Kitkat as well, suspecting is one of my app causing this. Tested previously using bbs, didn't see any abnormality , only google play service =.=
