Think positively. It saves your money instead of buying a new hp every year:)

I'm very satisfied with 830..

But I'm curious, I wonder why sum time my navigation button doesn't light up when I touch it.. N Sum time it works ..

Is that normal for WP?

if u have a 920 or 925,
this device is a slight upgrade compare to them..
2 extra cores and 2 extra megapixels..
with the nearly the same price ( compared to L925 back then)

The device is lighter and thinner compared to the 820 which I had for over a year. Battery can last through more than 15 hours, enough for moderate use during a day. It has a motion sensor which eliminates the need for fitbit and the likes if you are a fitness person.
The screen is very nice. It is a 720p and can fit 3 medium tiles or 1 big tiles and 1 medium tiles. It is using an IPS technology.
I am not a camera person but the PureView camera takes decent pictures. I use the camera mainly to take pictures of newspaper cutting and it does the job well (I have an app can handyscan). The inclusion of a camera key is nice which you rarely find in many smartphones nowadays.

Yes that's normal. They dont always light up when you touch them smile.gif
Not too sure what's the reason behind that though hmm.gif

the phone does feel elegant when u hold it...
comparing it with my xperiaZ... my vote goes to 830..

camera performs much better in darker area even w/out flash (vs xperia Z)... not sure bout latest Z3 though...

but for me, im really satisfied with what 830 has to offer..
good camera quality
OS is fluid
phone doesnt get hot fast like android (not sure if this is due to WP or hardware)
screen is sharp altho not fullHD..

it just feels like a flagship device, minus the big hole in my wallet....

if u decide to get this phone, just check the edges of the screen..
some unit might not have the perfect fit (flushed with the metal frame) all round..
if u can find 100% perfect, consider urself lucky...
cos last friday, i examine 3 unit, all not perfect
alas, i chose the one with minimum flaw....

i finally figured out how the navi buttons light works...
it will only lit up in dark surroundings....
if under direct light - it will not lit up...unless the proximity sensor is covered to mimic dark room....

makes sense now...can help extend battery life....

Wow, how bad is this flaw? This don't give much confidence for a flagship product. Wonder, if this is just the sets from the shop you bought it from, or generally true for Lumia 830 production quality.

i dont think 830 is a flagship phone la bro... more like a mid range phone only ...
the fitting is not 100% perfect like those 2-3k flagship phones...
so expect some very small flaws.. (or maybe i was just being too picky)

but overall quality is very close to perfect..
in my case, out of 3, only 1 phone had an obvious flaw..
the other 2, was acceptable, altho I cant say its 100% perfect..
different people have diff expectation.. some may say the imperfection is acceptable, some may not...

u need to check it out urself...

beside the edges do u find other issue on the phone?

m$ market 830 as 'affordable flagship' phone...

btw base on my reading I notice they are issues with lumia phone.. 520 have camera button problem and 1520 got screen sensitivity issue... what worries me is that nokia/Microsoft doesn't seems to care with the these 'cosmetic' issues.

affordable flagship phone is just a nice way to describe a mid range phone i think...

camera, volume, power buttons so far so good...... no clicking/loose sound when u shake the phone...
no issue with pinch to zoom .. screen is working as it should...
i dont know much about previous lumias, but based on first impression of 830...
i like it very much... i can now say i like it more than my xperiaZ (altho i cant go swimming with it... smile.gif )

Heard you could do manual focus during video record. Can someone confirm this? It is a nice feature for film-making!

Denim comes pre-installed on this device. Nokia always includes the latest WP update on their new phone release.

Also can focus properly for whatsapp? Distance around 15~30cm. Normally not sharp and blurr.
