Unker heard that some are even paying RM 500 / g

Looks like many retailers are going to get trap at high gold prices.

Kesian...

Unker dare not say too much...sudah kena banned a few times...

Sometimes, good intention , give warning also kena banned

Unker gave many warnings in USD/MYR and SGD/MYR forum....kena banned

Many are still licking their wounds converting to SGD and USD at high prices

Unker used to hand draw all the technical charts....Unker know when things are expensive

I wanted to take a moment to offer some assistance in refining your message to ensure it is taken seriously and sounds polished. Strong grammar and professional wording can enhance the clarity and impact of your communication.

Another way, is to reach out to a wider audience at the same time monetizing your contents thru YouTube and/or X.

You can focus on multiple topics - gold, currency exchange and TA.

It's a shame that your altruistic intentions are misunderstood...or is it?

It's okay lah.

Unker doesn't need to wear a coat with nice makeup to convince others. Sooner or later, the end result will prove one's ability and skills. Most importantly, those who bought high prices now will not lose their lessons after losing their shirts

Unker is probably too old to use technology for investment analysis.

Unker just depends solely on common sense.

Like don't chase high prices because it's risky

Just look through Unker post in SGDMYR forum. Some were already deleted because it was irritatingly spot on.

Many young fella just can't believe it when SGD dropped from the peak to 3.20...Many lost money in FX plus 6% dividend declared by EPF recently because some really took out money from account 3 to convert into SGD.

Unker doesn't use excel. Common sense will tell you EPF returns can easily overcome the depreciation of MYR against SGD in the long run

Haha, Unker my apologies, not trying to get under your skin. I happen to be free this week due to extended holidays.

I understand age does catch up with a person.

Originally, you were commenting it's risky (akin losing ones shirt) to buy gold at this current price. I'm just trying to understand your thoughts why? Pls elaborate, be it via FA, TA, geopolitics and/or common sense.

This is a gold forum. Your msg above abt Sgd/Myr and epf  is out of topic. Agree?
*
Oh ok... about losing one's shirt...the thing about retailers is they usually buy at the peak, and using the money they will need for something else. You can see it during COVID when EPF allowed withdrawal, some took it out to buy gold.

Gold prices can be very volatile and 40-50% drop from current high prices is very normal. The spread in buying gold in Malaysia isn't very good and retailers ended up losing their shirts in one of the most rational investment in 2025.

23 years holdings is amazing.

Unker doesn't think those retailers who bought at current prices can hold that long.

Most likely, they buy because they just can't stand seeing others make money holding gold for long term.

All the optimistic predictions here also give them concrete reasons to invest now.

This is the time when Unker jump out to be party poppers, give warning ⚠️

I googled

Highest 2011 was 1921

Lowest 2015 was 1086

Thats 43% drop.

There was another similar big drop in earlly 80s.

But twice in 45 years, I wont say "common".

Thank you for your verification.

While it's uncommon in the history of gold price movement, that type of downtrend is quite common in the experience of an investor. Most doesn't have such a long horizon and most likely cut losses in the middle of downtrend.

Gold Sinks $100, Silver -7% as Trump Exempts 'Bullion' from US Trade Tariffs

These substantial losses in U.S. equities prompted traders to liquidate gold positions to generate liquidity needed to cover losses and meet margin calls, accelerating the metal's downward movement despite underlying supportive fundamentals.

Meanwhile, long term investors don't know when to sell. Too attached to their investment

Looking back at the gold receipts I kept, the price was RM3x++/g in 197X and remained RM3x++/g in 2002.
In 198X, it dropped to below RM30/g.

At that time, the receipts were written in Traditional Chinese if you bought from a Chinese jewelry shop.

Gold prices only started to move around after USA cut off the dollar backing by gold. No longer can convert USD to gold.

Unker doesn't have crystal ball except for a bald head and saggy little guli underneath.

Unker just know what bottoms and tops looks like.

Unker have been through many cycles in various investments

All of them are identical and quite similar at the peak and bottom

Unker doesn't know how to gauge short term movement

As long one buy low and sell high, they will make money. Just avoid buying at the peak because that will destroy you psychologically and emotionally because your wife will nag u forever until u sell it at the bottom
