Guys .... I'm having problem sideloading 5.0.1 OTA. I get error
"/system/bin/install-recovery.sh" has unexpected contents. E:Error in /sideload/package.zip (Status 7) What seems to be the problem? Googling left and right but still can't figure it out. Some info 1. Stock 5.0 LRX21T 2. Stock Recovery 3. Rooted with CF |

You can manually restore this file and apply OTA."/system/bin/install-recovery.sh" has unexpected contents. E:Error in /sideload/package.zip (Status 7) What seems to be the problem? I just check install-recovery.sh and yup you are right. It's been modified by CF auto root. Unrooting should restore back the install-recovery.sh right? |

Last time cannot. Now, I'd say, try it. If fail, no harm. PS: alternatively can find out by extracting the Ota zip. If there is boot.IMG mean will work without restore to stock. If got boot.IMG.p mean need the stock kernel. This post has been edited by cowithgun: Dec 11 2014, 01:27 PM |

Hahaha as usual. If one talks a tiny negative tiny about android someone of the fan boys here will get butthurt. Android fans are difficult to be neutral. I used to think android os is better but now i realize not in every aspect.

Hahaha, not going to laugh at you annoymous1234 but this iOS-or-android thing is so old.
If your intelligence cannot handle rooting and customizing android, just be gone. Go play with stock iOS or jailbreak huhu. There's no point to compare lol, we're happy campers of nexuses and I never even need to use toolkits like WUG or CF autoroot. ADB, TWRP and custom roms are already super easy to use and flash my way. Just go and buy your IP6+ already Btw @cowithgun, how you manage to have such flat line in your battery. Do you even use your phone actively? lol |

I miss the good ol days in Android development where communities were true enthusiasts back then.
Nowadays there's just buncha wannabes (mostly iOS converts) spamming the development with their stupid whines, then put the blame on the OSes "flaws" and other people for their stupid mistake |

Haih ...
Unroot, restore stock kernel and try to sideload OTA again but still with the error. Hmmm maybe try updating from the factory image. It should be /fastboot update image.zip without -w right? |

QUOTE(frozzbyte @ Dec 11 2014, 10:28 PM) Haih ... I always use factory image. Work all the time. Unroot, restore stock kernel and try to sideload OTA again but still with the error. Hmmm maybe try updating from the factory image. It should be /fastboot update image.zip without -w right? Here is the steps: CODE adb reboot bootloader At this point, phone in green-android-mode. CODE fastboot flash bootloader bootloader-mako-makoz30f.img If you see something like device not found, etc at this point, that mean your adb drivers is not the Universal driver. Follow these steps to make it Universal (https://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopic=3345520&st=600&p=71498268&#entry71498268) or download it from XDA. CODE fastboot reboot-bootloader fastboot flash radio radio-mako-m9615a-cefwmazm-2.0.1701.05.img fastboot reboot-bootloader fastboot update image-occam-lrx22c.zip The last fastboot is without "-w". That will keep all your data and settings. You will lost Root and custom recovery. Easy to get it back. |
