Don't know whether was i trolled big time but according to a PM staff, ASNB would be launching a new fund (fixed price) soon for both bumis and non-bumis.

Can anyone confirm this ?
*
Wow, i am very curious on when will they launch the new fund..

Hopefully i have enough bullets by the time it is launched.. blush.gif

Hold 5 years not necessary making money.
Double lies doesn't help to make it become a fact
*
Yape, i agreed with that..

The consultant could say recommended investment horizon period between 5 years to 8 years..

But economy condition is never predictable nor certain for you to foresee..

Should there be any economy recession between the investment period, your returns would be affected.

An economy recession of 2-3 years is enough to affect your returns badly..

Most of the UT consultants (including ASNB's) are more concern about their immediate benefit, i.e sales commission they earn when they close the deal from you., rather than whether u make or not after 5 years, some go to the extent they hide some information they u should know and mislead you with the wrong information, very unethical.
*
Yes, therefore as investors, we might need to continuous increase our due diligence to avoid the same thing to happen to us..

Went to PNB. BIG 0 strike!

Learnt from the counter staff that they will be replacing all the passbooks to a new type. He also mentioned the online transactions in the new year. But it will be in stages. So don't hold your breath for 1-Jan-2015! Ha.

I guess the passbook change is for the online transactions, maybe passbook updating on their ATM?
*
Wow, i am glad that they will be replacing all the passbooks..

My passbooks looked old already because always bring here and there..

Yape, but normally there is an exception in the performance of ASB compared to the other fixed price funds.

Sorry to hear that.

Lately, while at PM, the lady asked me for my IC and electronic thumb print for the purchase transactions. I thought IC is only for withdrawing.

Do you have to use your IC for the purchase transactions?

ASNB is changing the purchase rules?

Thanks.
*
Actually, for your information, i have been asked a few times to show my ic when i was about to try my luck over the counter..

But for your case to even electronic thumb print is really a very special case indeed. tongue.gif

I managed to get RM500 for my AS1M..

Actually hoped to change my ASM passbook so that i can try for ASM when i was at the post office.

The officer informed that the new ASM passbook is not available in the post office as they are still upgrading the system.

I just changed the passbook today at the ASNB office.

The passbook format is similar to the ones for ASG.

Nothing special. I actually think the previous Amanah Saham Malaysia passbook is nicer.. biggrin.gif

For the management of ASNB to convert the ASM into a variable price, i believe that the possibilities are very low because :-
a) many of the non-bumis will withdraw their capital; or
b) no non-bumis will inject capital into the investment fund whereby ASNB might experience lower capitalization for investment;

However, should they consider this option, I also believe that they have to notify the investors earlier before it is put to float price option.

But i am sure that i would be one of the investors to withdraw my investments and close the account.. nod.gif

Latest unit in circulation for ASM is 15.30 bil units or RM15.30 bil
Should ASNB decide to convert ASM from FP to VP, they need to get redy 'Huge' capital to meet redemption
*
Yape, what more to say those investors like us who always intended to try our luck to subscribe additional units over the counter..

If they impose this policy, i would withdraw and invest to the current AS1M.. lol..

Then, when everyone does the same action, ASM's units in circulation will become smaller and smaller..

I'm sure ASNB would inform all unitholders. I think need to get SC & unitholder approval before can change hmm.gif

well, if they ask to vote, before voting. I already cabut with all my $$ sweat.gif  confirm mass withdrawal  sweat.gif
*
Yes, I certainly agreed with that..

I believe that before the implementation of the change of the policy, the fund manager would have to get the approval from the SC and the unit holders..

I assume that there might be some kind of special offers in terms of the price appreciation for the conversation of the fixed price to variable price fund, but i am wondering how else here have experienced this kind of situation before.

Fair point. My fault. I always assume it is with the FD funds. Let me do some reading in ASNB docs.
*
Basically i believe it is normal for the investors of the fixed price unit trusts to presume those fixed price unit trust as fixed deposit..

Well, it happens to me as well..

Because as for my point of view, the deed of the fund indicates that the price of the fixed price fund is set at RM1.00, but however, it was not guaranteed by PIDM.. This statement somehow could be quite confusing in terms of differentiating the fixed price fund and fixed deposit...

Original plan was to do that tomorrow, a day after they are ready (time for them to have everything in place and also for them to be familiar with the changes). Ha.

With the change in school starting date from 5 to 12 Jan, plan 2 is now to do that next Tuesday, hopefully less people being middle of the month and not end of the month.
*
For me, as long as it is in the month of January, it is a total gone case for me..

Not even consider to try my luck because normally many of the ASB holders would go withdraw their dividends in that month..

Based on my experience, the banks and the ASNB agents are often too crowded in the month of January after the dividends are declared and credited.

Can we update our ASB books on Friday?
*
Provided you can wait..

Based on my observations, the Fridays in January is totally out..

All account holders will go to update their ASB books especially on Friday because the civil servants (for instance) has a longer break period..

Haha... There was one time after i open the door, i surrender and no intention to try due to the long queue..

Anyone here have any first hand information about when will the ASNB be rolling out their online portal out to the investors?

Just curious as I heard news that this online portal would be introduced in this month..
