Have been driving my 1.6 CVT since Nov. The average FC is around 8.7liter/100km.

As you all know, the car comes with 2 USB charging ports. Yesterday I plugged in to charge my phone and unplugged my phone to make a call. The USB cable was left there plugged in at the USB port. After like 20 min driving I smell something's burning. At first I thought it's the smell from outside. Later when the smell got stronger I start to look around and found the USB cable head melted! I touched the USB ports and its freaking hot. Wonder if anyone of you experienced such thing before.

Been using the chargers all the time. I always make sure I detached it after I've finished charging though.
There are a couple of times I left it there, but nope, no burning smell.
*
I supposed it's the cable problem then. The cable is from Pineng brand powerbank. @@

Anyone of you have tried playing music from your phone through bluetooth? I found that the sound quality is rather bad. At high volume (10+) the sound seems to be like a bit distorted. It sounded normal when i plugged in through aux at the same volume.

I own a myvi and alza. Playing music through bluetooth on both that cars is as good as playing it through aux in Iriz. I suppose its my Iriz player problem. Anyone having this issue?

I have a tip for you. Copy all your fav songs to USB drive and plug it in. It sounds veryy good especially if you created your mp3 at 320kbps. Don't bother AUX or BT streaming.. Problem solved smile.gif
*
Has been doing that for the past 2 months. The speakers are indeed very good and bassy compared to Myvi's. Just that sometimes my friends wanna play their songs from their phone, the bluetooth connectivity is very convenient as I have set up a NFC sticker to simply connect to the HU.

I just read through the whole post and found that no one actually complain about the sound quality when playing through Bluetooth. If I'm the only one experiencing this, I'll have the SC to check/replace the HU since its still under warranty.

OK, I will try to play through BT today. BTW, how do you set up the NFC sticker?
*
I bought a few NFC sticker. Around rm20/5 piece. Then set it up using the app called Trigger. Once u download the app u'll know what to do. U can set a lot of settings there.

I already tried playing music via BT Streaming .. and the sound ... worse than AUX. No surprise here as the BT uses RF which is prone to interference etc... bla bla bla smile.gif  USB streaming is very gooding  rclxms.gif
*
so the sound quality through bluetooth is not as good. But Myvi and Alza player can play through bluetooth nicely. =(

SA free 5mil security tinted for me… but infrared heat only block 68% (worth about RM1100)… still haven confirm want upgrade to 95% (worth RM2900) but need top-up another RM1300.

Anyone heard about "solartint" ? Isit worth for it?
I think I have problem on making decision… hahaha… 1.6 CVT tested at least 4times 1.3 cvt 2 times
*
I received my Iriz two months ago. After 5000+ km of travel, the average FC is 8.6 liter/100km, if you're ok with the FC, then go for 1.6 CVT. I honestly think that 1.3 will be underpower~

my iriz got tht sound too when i received it two months ago. i didnt bother about it at all and now the sound is all gone. at first when stepping the break also make some "tak tak" sound at the gear box. now the noise also gone d. i guess all those noise is because the car is very new, many parts not "lubricated" yet..haha

For those considering to buy Myvi or Iriz. Here's my personal opinion. 3 months ago my sis and I bought a Myvi (auto) and Iriz (cvt). Iriz was bought one month after the Myvi. Both driven for 3 months plus and almost 6000km on the ODO.

Iriz > Myvi
- Iriz is more stable and very much quieter than Myvi when moving at high speed (above 100km/h) especially on highway.
- The feeling when you drive, Iriz moving at 80-100km/h is like Myvi moving at 50-60km/h.
- Myvi started to feel light and shaky at about 130km/h. Iriz reach that stage at about 170km/h.
- The gear position in Myvi is very odd; it's hard to reach the gear especially those with short hands. Iriz gear position is just nice; like most of the car out there, normal.
- This is the best thing Iriz ever have. It's electronic controlled steering. When the car is idle, the steering is very light. When the car goes faster, the steering will be tighten gradually to provide better control of the car. Myvi doesnt have this awesome feature.
- Driver and front passenger door hand rest in Myvi is stupid. I can hardly place my hand and there's no place to put my phone at the side.
- Iriz have 2 charging ports while Myvi doesnt have even one.
- Speaker quality in the Iriz is better especially its bass.
- Front seats is very comfortable in the Iriz. The design looks way better too compare to Myvi's which look square-ish
- Iriz's back seat is slightly wider (compare side to side, not the legroom).
- When driving through our typical Malaysians' road (bumpy, uneven, holes), Iriz absorb them very well. I didnt notice how bad the road is until I drive through it using Myvi.

Myvi > Iriz
- Iriz isnt underpower. It's actually Iriz's throttle response is slower by a mere second compared to Myvi. It may due to Iriz's heavier body. Myvi can "pecut" faster than Iriz thats for sure. But going pass the speed at 30km/h, Iriz manage to catch up. (p.s even Viva can "pecut" faster than Iriz!)
- When reversing the car, I need to "tekan" more for the Iriz. Myvi can move nicely without any problem.
- Playing music from phone via Bluetooth (Touch screen HU) in Iriz sucks. The sound quality is very poor. Myvi's HU playing music via Bluetooth have no issue at all.
- Iriz's HU is powered by Android but you can't download the apps you want in it (Suprima S guide to install app doesnt work!). Throughout 3 months the Iriz's HU got hang once. The radio functionality is a messed up. When you just start your car and play music via USB, the music got stopped for like 20-30 seconds a few times. (not sure whats wrong here)
- In city run, Myvi FC is slightly better than Iriz. Myvi: approx 12km/l vs Iriz: approx 11km/l

Iriz = Myvi, Myvi = Iriz
- The back seat. I've seen a lot of people claim that Myvi back seat is bigger. Here's the truth. Myvi's legroom is bigger because it's seat is short while Iriz's is long. Your thigh gets to rest well on Iriz seat while in Myvi, half of your thigh will be resting on nothing. I'm 170 cm and I have no problem sitting at the back of both cars.

So if you ask me did I regret buying the Iriz, I'll tell you I'm glad I have bought the Iriz. Yes, it's slightly more expensive but considering the safety features packs in it, hell its worth it! The only problem is those who are used to driving Perodua cars (my family have a Viva, Alza and Myvi..Perodua fans), will have problem copping with the Iriz's slow throttle speed. ( My Iriz chassis number is 1951 and I haven't go for the TCU update). The only reason Iriz doesnt sell well is because it's Proton.

Get your TCU update. No more throttle delay.

On the reverse note, if the car didn't move, don't press the pedal more. Instead, apply the brake for about 3-5 seconds, and release the breake.  The car move. I reckon somehow the clutch are not closing when you engage to reverse gear.  Then i figure if i hit the brake, that might send something to the clutch. And it did.  thumbup.gif

Thanks for the tips. Will try it later. Just sent the car for TCU update this morning~

good job!  nice comparison thumbup.gif

offtopic>>

for small car:

1. i think the vertical/slanted inside door handle is not needed.
(pls compare gen1 myvi & gen2 myvi).
the reason is in small car, space is premium, u cannot rest hand on "arm rest" due to that handle.
as for big car like vw passat, it's ok because there is enough space between the handle and door panel.

2. reposition the gear selector to steering column.

3. reposition the handbrake to footbrake or adopt switchbrake.
*
Your point 1..thats what I meant..that handle is a stupid thing to have. I'm surprised the new Myvi still have it. I thinks its either no one complain to Perodua or Perodua doesnt care.

The same can apply to the "Can't shift gear after push start".
Real 1? Looks great~
1. Happens to me as well. It used to be gone for a few weeks, but recently it's coming back and it's annoying. I suspect the TCU signal is messed up some way. For me, I have to switch off the engine and re-ignite. Pressing brake when shutting off the engine seems to help (I'm experimenting different ways and see if can work-around without visiting SC, I lazy take leave.)

2. That's the first thing I felt when I first got my Iriz. Brought the issue up but no one seems to feel that way. And in my case, it does feel like auto-leveling.... which is damn annoying. Then due to other issue, SC replaced my HU with a newer version one (Interface are cleaner and different, no more apps drawer style UI), and the auto leveling is not that apparent anymore. But it could be just me getting used to it already.

3. Yes, the icon is missing (I have both the manual and key fob on my table to compare). But the function remain in tact. Usually I just press the button under the lid, feels smoother as well  tongue.gif

4. This don't matter right? Never pay attention to this before.

5. Hmm... again, never pay attention to this. But feels like there are times when I have to pull twice.

have you tried playing music via Bluetooth? Hows the sound quality?
