Thanks..
I am considering to buy 1.6 CVT Premium.
SA told me wait until Feb so there is discounted unit for 2014.

Is it possible to update infotaiment to Papago?
*
Some SA already offering 2004 units.

Till now no one change anything on the infotainment..kind of locked down

I just went to service my iriz 1.3exec cvt this morning for 1k mileage

i ask whether there is any update for tcu and they check in the website that there is no..
any1 can confirm this? I wanna get rid of the slow response and also the 10km/h jerking feel
*
the tcu update was released last year for the early batch of 1.6 cvt...this year's car all should have already updated with the latest tcu..1.3 cvt model just released recently...possible theres no tcu update yet

So no need to use handbrake right? Dunno why the SA go pull my handbrake without informing me. Then when want to move the car mati engine.
They were testing with other proton cars in the showroom. When release the iriz door handle then very loud knock sound. Then the door panel also when use knuckle to knock also very loud.
*
yup, dont need to pull hand brake..maybe he pull so that the car wont automatically move forward...the hill hold only prevent the car move backwards..sometimes if the road not very sloppy the car will move forward..by the way, the car gear must put in D or else hill hold wont work

didnt pay attention much to the door handle..for me i dont feel anything significantly loud

the deep loop behind the door handle, usually got lots of scratches from nails, happens when you open the door.
apply tint on that area

ooww this one...i thought its a tint to be applied on the handle..so tht when the car park under hot sun, open door not so hot to the hand..hahaha

agree with @lemer, P is meant for Parking. When I drove an auto car, shifting to N with brankes on is what I do at traffic lights. The most is pull the handbrake only.

Even putting D while stopping is not entirely good for the engine.
Imagine the car wants to Drive but u keep holding it with brakes.
There's a slight force on the engine that tries to push the car, and with the brakes on, don't you think this will create a strain to the engine? May create wear and tear to the engine.

The difference is that the engine is running on low RPM, just imagine if you rev the engine to a higher RPM on D while holding on to the brakes? what would happen and what can it cause to the engine?

The energy from the engine has no where to go, and these energy will be transferred to the other parts of the car like mountings and etc.

just my 2cents!
*
i think more strains n wears will goes to the brake pad~

Well, the 1.3EX is really more tempting than the standard, as this will be my first car.

Any other sifus around here own the car? How's the overall performance and the FC yea?
*
QUOTE(hawklee84 @ Jan 29 2015, 11:36 AM)
got my fire-red 1.3EX MT and have not done my 1st service yet tho already clock more than 1000km.
FC i get 10km/L of petrol, still not so ideal for me yet
Will see how's the FC after the 1st service.

Overall, loved the car, love the smooth shifting.
The engine is more responsive compared to the 1st day i got the car, needs running-in i guess.
*
mine is a 1.6 cvt...mine average FC is 8.6 liter/100km..that should be around 11.6km/L
i think a 1.3 MT should get much better FC than mine

About the raindrop, theres not much diff among cars like myvi, vios, city etc...those "tup tup tup" sound...those really bad are like Viva, Axia etc with those "tak tak tak" sound
Sound isolation from the side doors and boot are a surprise. I dont expect Proton to be this good. The real noise comes from the front.
But,come one guys, its a below 100k car..what u guys expect?

About the 3 years free service, it basically covers labour + certain basic parts (oil filter, break pad etc)
However, you can top up some money for better oil filter.

I got 2k rebate and free tinting(5 year warranty). SA told me the rebate only will apply if car booked before end of the month and while stock is still available.
I thought paultan video review did mention that it was quiet during rain. Ish paultan mesti tipu ni  vmad.gif  . Well, if anyone does some form of soundproofing for it then let us know the results.

Also did a little rendering if I were to convert my soon to get silver to resemble the Active. Please share some thoughts about it. PS: the orange colour is inaccurate atm. I might change it later.
*
i think it'll be more accurate if this applies on the silver moon dust iriz

Will this void the warranty?  unsure.gif

as long as the wiring only need to plug into the empty socket, it wont void the warranty..warranty is voided if they cut any wires

Why some folks view good things with pesimism? You are not going anywhere with negative mind. A company is giving discount on upcoming big event such as CNY, Hari Raya, Christmas are good things and normal practice. 5k discount is nothing, go to foreign brands, you would easily getting 10k discount.
*
some ppl in this forum just trying to make iriz look bad...most probably ppl from perodua or myvi hardcore fans..lol

what is the fuel consumption? I am not buying unless it can shows at least 14km/L of fuel for mix driving conditions.
*
my 1.6 cvt fc around 11-12km/L...if ure looking for 14km/L then the 1.6 CVT definitely not ur choice..look for 1.3 model maybe
