maybe TT can start make owner list already..
few more forumer already got their car..

my SA told me the delay was because of they updating the ECU.
i dont know if it true.. or just another excuse..

It does sound legit. Proton may have heard of the complaints about the CVT (jerking, too lazy to rev). They may have decided to change the mapping to something more endearing to Malaysians. They did this to the early Preve, where the eco-centric mapping was changed to a more Exora-like mapping. The jerk was much less after that. The resultant mapping was like a hybrid between D mode and S mode.

But the SA could also be bluffing shakehead.gif

lol almost years of testing, they didn't heard the CVT noise? I don't think much can be done on the tuning anymore. The SA could be bluffing.

Axia will be more than iriz due to different segment.  Axia is like 3 years old car. Production/tooling all already familiar.

Iriz on the other hand is new car entirely. Freshly cook from the oven.  brows.gif

PGM factory already 3 years old meh? Or Axia is CBU from Nakatsu, Japan?

It is not the noise. In the original Preve mapping, even when you jam the throttle in D mode, the car will rev only to 3000 rpm. Only after 60 kph would the car be able to rev to the redline. If you need max acceleration, you need to go into S mode. I found myself use S mode quite often in the original mapping. After the new mapping, the car can rev to the redline even at low speeds in D mode.

In the original mapping there was minimal clutch slip at low speeds thus causing jerking like when you are in 1st gear and clutch pedal fully released. In the new mapping it feels like at slow speed the car in is 2nd gear (I'm paraphrasing to make it familiar to those who are new to CVT) thus minimising the jerk.

From the comments here, I found similar traits in Iriz CVT to the original Preve mapping.

If that really true, how can the engineer don't even notice it? Until feedback from reviewer and test drive then only they notice? Didn't the Preve/Exora CVT mapping already a reference to them on what malaysian want?

I doubt it. Not doubting the CVT issue, but the delay because of updating to new ECU.

The light that turns on when u unlock the car is the welcome light. All contis have this.. On contis it will turn on the headlights while on preve/suprima it will just turn on the LED's.. How about the Iriz?

Will turn on small light

Looks like the ECU update is real. Proton is recalling cars already delivered to customers to do the update. We still don't know what the update does.

The TCU/ECU update the SC did on my Preve needed only 15 minutes. But then they have to test drive the car to make sure everything is OK. Now with thousands of cars that need to do it... I hope it won't take too long.

actually, planning the 3rd car that are more economical and practical to practiced their skill. i got the KEMBARA for my daily used. my BOLD for long distance/weekend used only. too expensive for them to play around. of cause AXIA was my 1st choice, but then IRIZ looks better. hmm.gif

I see. So you gonna decide based on the feedback? but then it actually depend on your financial freedom la smile.gif You are aiming for the premium 1? or the executive 1? haha

thank you for the good question. hmm.gif
mainly aim the AXIA coz of the FC especially for town used. 17KM/ltr vs 13KM/ltr for IRIZ.
secondly the maintenance. both having new engine. so no history. yet to monitor/feedback for a few month.
its not that urgent, so i don't mind waiting. tested both AXIA G and ARIZ 1.3. my 13 years old KEMBARA still serving me well, and my new BOLD proved no major problem.
the kids don't care much as long as they got something to play with, but not my BOLD. already poisoned by their mother saying IRIZ more cute. of cause i prefer the cheapest. sweat.gif
