if you already commit to buying iphone and no other phones, then the price wont change much even in the future.

i don't understand what you mean by commit.. even if i have desire on it, it is not a "must" buy.. as we still have load of option in the market..

QUOTE(MollyIsler @ Sep 10 2014, 03:22 PM)
Coming from Android, this is why I'm staying with the iPhone:

- Fluidity of user interface. Plain and simple. I don't need no customizable widgets that slow down my phone.

- The lag on android phones is really a dealbreaker for me. The struggle is real lol. That extra second to open an app really makes a big difference to me.

- Camera. "The higher the megapixel, the better it is" is a MYTH. I don't need my phone camera to be 21mp, but the sensor is low. You guys should have taken notice at most Samsung phones with higher megapixels, but the quality is just so-so. The 5s' camera is already doing a great job for me for casual photo taking. I don't need to print my pictures in large scale canvas/paper, it's just for social media. If I'm going to need a better camera, then I have my Canon for that.

- Wider selection in the appstore. This is the main reason why I actually switched to iOS. I found myself wanting to download an app but it's not available in the Google Play Store.

- Overall simplicity. I'm not a tech geek, I don't particularly see the need to root/jailbreak my phone. As long as it does the job (call/sms, internet) then I'm fine with it.

What I just don't like with the iPhone is that it always doesn't live up to my battery expectations. Other than that, I'm all good.

So let's enjoy this phone and let's not start fanwars. smile.gif It really is up to personal preference. No need for judgment. Cheers!

Nobody is starting fanwars lol... I'm an iphone user myself and I'm in a bit of dilemma of continuing with iphone since I've never used android, but hearing from you, I feel much convinced now. Thanks!

Long time iphone user here... just wondering why almost all comparable smartphones in the market have better specs than iphone... and why iphone users still use iphone? I want to change my phone but I'm split between iphone/galaxy/motox...
*
To my ownself, the answer is simple:
1) I don't have time to tweak or customize the phone already. Nearly everything is default (wallpaper, font, etc.). So I don't need to root the device or have time to play around those things anymore, like Kit Kat, Ferrero Rocher, Van Houten, Godiva, etc.

2) I want a stable phone with stable operating system (OS) and software application for work and own usage. This include as low risk virus problem as well. I don't want to reboot my phone from time to time, or crash, or freeze, etc.

3) I don't need high-end processor, for that, I'll rather use my i7-4770 + 24GB RAM PC, or the xeon servers.
Whether a lot of memory or not, current iPhone 5 memory is fast and sufficient enough for me.
For super read/write, I have fusion i/o card and ssd in computer to play around.
For games, I use iPad. Or my trusty PS3.

4) Display - 5.5" is a welcome for me now. I don't need super whatever crap resolution or full HD or whatever, current iPhone 5 display resolution is good enough for me.

5) Camera - 8Mp is more than enough. I prefer 5-6Mp only, smaller file size taking up space. If I need anything higher or better, I'll pull out point-and-shoot or DSLR camera. Most of the pics taken using phone are for casual use only.

6) NFC - what ? Is there anyway we can use it in M'sia yet ?

7) so why I'm going to upgrade ?
(i) My 2 years iPhone 5 contract is coming to and end. Why not get a subsidise phone with contract than not getting anything ?
(ii) Company pay my phone bills, so I have option to take more expensive plans to subsidise the phone.
(iii) Got the budget to change phone.

Woah, so many haters here. Chill la.

Everyone has their opinions, but keep it to yourself please. Every new version of iPhones are more of less have a minimal increment of specs. For me, I don't feel excited for the new-gen iPhones as I was last year mainly because I didn't like the new design. Having said that, that is not a serious drawback because in terms of specs, it looks decent to me.

The implementation of NFC is something expected because their rivals has implemented it ages ago, but to be fair, not everyone uses it on a daily basis (if you do then good for you). 8MP camera? As long as it's good with low-light and takes a decent photo, it's good for me. Even better, the memory capacity. 128GB. Fuh this is what I am talking about.

As for those who are saying that the price is over the moon, it is... But consider the margin too. Advertising, promotion, research and development.... All this needs to be considered as well. No one is forcing you to buy, chill la. Don't need to call people stupid or dumb or deluded because they choose to buy it. It's their money, their preference and their will to do so. You can't tell people what to do.

lol trust me, apple has way better margin than any other smartphone manufacturer.

Dont listen to other users on such stuffs. Only you know best your needs. I have used all the iphone till ip5 ( skipped ip5s) n was never impressed with it. That doesnt mean ip is not good just purely it failed to meet my needs. The last ip5 i hardly kept it 2 months while the rest I sold off within 4 months
This time I will test the ip6+ n no idea how long I could keep it or it will stayed on beyond 6-12 months??
I still favored an Android phone till today. Maybe ip6+ could change my mind??
