I checked my system update...tapi tak ada....huh?

Edit: Likely mine will come by the evening, since the push out for updates will depend on the phone's IMEI (I think).

Oh crap, I think I know why I'm not able to properly update to M.

Its cause my system version is 23.1.28, which was part of a soak test back when the update was 5.1 earlier this year. A bit of research on XDA forums told me that.

Subsequently, the users there recommend a flashing of the new 5.1 image taken from the moto website so that the build on the phone will not be from the soak test. And normal OTA update can get pushed.

Would there be a chance moto might release an OTA to bring out 5.1 soak test adopters like me to Android M?

Marshmallow is more like an optimisation update for Lollipop. Main features are permission settings, now on tap and Doze for battery standby.

That's affirmative on that suggestion.

Apparently, the only way to do it is to download the stock image (latest) from the Moto Website. And with the included instructions, to fastboot flash each of the image files directly into the device.

Looks like its ADB time again. 🙏🙏

I did this before when I toyed with my OnePlus One.

Think twice, because it only have 16GB Internal and non-expandable. The rest of the spec no problem.

It's a great 2nd phone imo, and a budget phone now. Still getting the latest updates, good option. I am already on Android 6.0.

bought online from brighstar 11stereet for 1.2k 2months ago, after considering vivos & oppos as uncommon backup phone

Totally worth it, But yeah, take non expandable storage into consideration, best if ur into cloud storage

Not a problem for me as i dont keep unnecessaries in it.

Just bought Moto X 2014 from 7 Mobile, have to say I'm rather disappointed with what I got. Yellow screen, slight / barely visible chip on the back of the phone and the System UI keeps crashing when I double tap.

Anyone with similar problems from recent purchase from them or anyone else?

For me I have no problems for my MX2014 Pure Edition. Simply cause my unit was purchased via SyathibiyMegat. Fully obtained from the US.

Yours was purchased online? Or from a physical seller?

Did u bought sealed unit? Mine is sealed with 2 layer of plastic wrap. So far no issue during my 2 weeks of usage. What version of Android are u running now? Have u tried factory reset?

BTW, I bought mine online but not from 7mobile. Currently running Android M 6.0.

Yeah, somehow I can't seem to trust if this seal units are even real. Currently running M 6.0 and I did factory reset as I got a new unit from them. Despite that the yellow screen is still present.

Tried installing screen adjuster application but the difference isn't significant. Considering if I should root it and install custom kernel. Hmm...
