I got the prompt to update already this morning but don't think I will do it. My first gen Moto x main camera not working after 5.1 lollipop update..even after reformat. Seems I'm not the o ly one with thi a issue when I checks on the internet :-(

@zhou86 was gonna ask you how to do it at first...but asked uncle google instead. lol. Anyways.. it didn't work. Issue is still there :-( Selfie camera works fine, but not the main camera

online chat with motorola support just now. He said the phone needs to be in USA and used there in order to ensure that the OTA update is successfully done. LOL. is this true? I have had no issue with previous OTA updates from moto before.

yeah the 2014 version is pure edition. 2013 is unlocked t-mobile version

he also told me to do factory reset externally (not from settings) but from same hard menu like wiping the cache partition. im doing it now...not sure it will work..lol

Havent found a post on how to solve it yet. BTW i took a chance and updated my 2nd gen moto X to 5.1...so far no issue. Camera works fine as well. hahah

Camera issue fixed now for my first gen Moto X. Think they released an update for the camera sometime last week or so. hehe

However my 2nd Gen moto sometimes experience flickering screen ever since the 5.1 update. This only happens while unlocking the screen after the phone has been left idle for quite a long time. lol

Specs are different. Moto X play seems to be a midranger. I think the launch price for Xplay will be around 1.2-1.5k...X Style around 1.8-2k?
