Cardiff City manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is expected to leave the club after less than nine months in charge.
Solskjaer, 41, has held talks with chairman Mehmet Dalman on Wednesday.
An announcement on the Norwegian's future is expected on Thursday, as details of his departure are finalised.
The Bluebirds are 17th in the Championship after three losses in seven games, including Tuesday's 1-0 home defeat by Middlesbrough and a 4-2 capitulation against Norwich.

The former Manchester United striker took over from Malky Mackay on 2 January, but failed to save City from Premier League relegation.
After the latest defeat, the Norwegian said he accepted the blame for the club's poor run of form.
"I'm responsible and I should get better results than what we've had in the first seven games," said Solskjaer.
His team were booed off the pitch at half time and at the end of the game against Middlesbrough.
Their poor display drew criticism from former Bluebirds striker Nathan Blake, who described the players as "inept".
"There was nothing there," said Blake. "Cardiff were just devoid of ideas and confidence.
"The fans were on their backs and you could see certain players weren't up for the fight."
