Hmm... my view on Mata vs Rooney differs a bit.

I think Rooney is better suited, he tends to open up play wide with some good passes. I dont really care about passing rate since most of Mata passes are really short simple tick tock pass which really has nothing to it. CAM waiting in the box? Thats a striker job really... why was he there? The one who should charge and provide the pass should be him, not the other way around.

Oh so you are implying that a CAM should just sit behind the strikers and slice open the defence every now and then? Mata is a cunning player, he finds space for himself and he creates space for people.

It baffles me when he said 'ticktock' passing, when really a CAM is just behind the striker. How 'far' or 'wide' is he expecting a CAM to pass to? Lol.

you could see the limitations to clev's game. no doubt he has good touches, nice 1 2 passes in matches, but his vision of the game is limited. its like he cant bring the play to the next level, too often opting for safe passes which are, without doubt his downfall, sideway or backpasses.

He is always a one-footed pony, his left foot is totally useless. Not to mention that his early years in the BPL, defenders are not accustomed to his 'trick' but over the years, defenders are able to read his game easily. If you push Valencia to his left foot, you won't see anything else from him other than shifting it to his right and you know what happens next
