Martinez reveals which Manchester United player he fears ahead of Sunday's clash

QUOTE
Everton manager Roberto Martinez believes that his side will have to guard against Manchester United striker Radamel Falcao when the sides meet on Sunday.

Everton have struggled to gain any sort of momentum this season, losing to Crystal Palace after wins against West Brom and Wolfsburg, and the last minute draw against Liverpool in the Merseyside derby couldn't push them to Europa League win over Russian side FC Krasnodar, drawing 1-1 on Thursday night.

The Toffees now head into an away fixture against Manchester United, though a trip to Old Trafford is nowhere near as daunting as it was during Sir Alex Ferguson's reign in charge of the Red Devils - particularly given that they've already lost to Swansea City at home this season and have been terrible defensively.

Roberto Martinez's men will be looking to exploit that shaky United back line, with the likes of Aiden McGeady, Samuel Eto'o and Romelu Lukaku no doubt licking their lips at the prospect of facing the likes of Patrick McNair and Tyler Blackett - though the injured Kevin Mirallas will be a big miss to their hopes of claiming all three points.

The problem is that United invested heavily in their attacking options. Angel Di Maria is a dangerous runner from midfield, whilst they also snapped up Monaco's Radamel Falcao on a season-long loan deal having allowed Javier Hernandez and Danny Welbeck to leave the club for Real Madrid and Arsenal respectively.

And ahead of Sunday's meeting between Everton and United, Toffees boss Martinez has revealed that it's Falcao who he believes can be the star in Louis van Gaal's attack.

"He is quite a specialised player in that position - a number nine that can do anything," said Martinez. "He's an out-and-out goalscorer and is someone who is of the highest quality. He has already accumulated a lot of good experiences in different countries. He's been successful everywhere he's been and that's going to be a massive asset to that Manchester United squad."

The Colombian may have failed to hit the back of the net for United so far, but his carer record before moving to Old Trafford saw him score 200 goals in just 305 domestic games, as well as 20 goals in 51 internationals for Colombia. Some may question his athleticism since returning from a torn anterior cruciate ligament injury, but he still has the predatory instincts to pose a constant threat to the Everton defence.
