Ok. I shut phone off, switch it on by Vol+Power, connect usb but nothing come out from pc & then i try to flash n then the cmd windows stay like this forever ...

I already do flash with the Global version Recovery rom v36 ... its flash without any problem but error still there. Thats why i try to do fastboot flash.

first time use android with a snapdragon cpu
can really feel the difference compare to mediatek

Nobody say it was a secret    . Yes I notice the tutorial above but I found it a bit complicated for a beginner Android user like me. Below is what I did in "easier" way. Source : shared by my expert friend

I am not responsible in any way for damaging your device. Although this is fully tested method do it at your own risk.

Step 1) Root your 1s and buy a class 10 memory card. I am using 8GB for the swap because I feel +1GB memory is more than enough for my usage.

Step 2) Download Roehsoft Ram Expander, it cost RM 15 in Playstore, pay or download the xxxx version from this website : http://9androidapps.com/, your choice.

Step 3) Install and open the software, first adjust the SWPFILE value to the memory size you would like to "add", you can see my value is set to 1000MB because I think it is good enough for my phone. Max you could go is 4000MB. Next set the SWAPPINESS value between 40 - 99. The higher the value the faster the Swap process, hence more chance to damage your sd card  . I am using 70 here, so far so good.


Step 4) Take a look at the RAM FREE value, it shown your current ram information. Finally touch the SWAP ACTIV at the top, wait for it to process. You're done , now refer to the bottom TOTAL FREE value and see your phone fly 

The software also come with a widget that display memory infor. Just go to your widget screen and drag it out to the home screen.


This is not a full solution for our phone ram issue, still hope Xiaomi could rectify it soonest possible. Thanks for reading.

Yeah i can delete any contact thru the way i show just now .. but just cant do it thru "Configure SIM Card" .. will use my friend's SIM to test if its SIM or phone problem 

By the way how to change the language input from default english to chinese while typing anything ??

I think I will wait until the signal bug is solved first as it is a very serious bug.

I solved this problem by pressing the power button until the Mi logo comes up (Reboot), without taking out battery. I kena this 2 times already. I think the side button was pressed constantly. Also when using GPS the phone is very warm.
Much warmer than using just Wifi.

So I saw someone mentioned about the Qualcomm CPU today. Is our phones using MSM8228 or MSM8226? Clearly all Xiaomi official sites stated MSM8228, but upon checking CPU-Z it is MSM8226. Is Xiaomi overclocking it and claim it to be MSM8228?

Theres nothing in cpu-z which says that it is an 8228 (it says that it is an 8226). Cpu-z does not give any additional info that can show that the redmi 1s is using the 8228.

When you posted the link to the specs, there was nothing there to prove that cpu-z info for the redmi 1s is the same for 8228. What I wanted to know what how you managed to reference 8228 with the link you posted.

Bought another 10 sets    RM 50 gone for 2 x10 sets included postage. The transaction cant be made in one, need pay one first then proceed with another one, hence no limit I believe

This can be used for quite long if you're not a gadget freak, imaging each battery life can last a year before fully unusable, 10 battery = 10 years no need to buy battery.

It depends on how the battery is prepared/packaged.
Some manufacturers will ship the battery along in a special sleep state (not to be confused with the sleep state where a lithium battery is so deeply discharged that normal charging will not work) that will have a long storage life without degrading. Using the new battery or charging for the first time will break the sleep state and the battery will work as normal. No idea how Xiaomi does things.

I would just keep spare batteries (if you have already used them) at half charge for long term storage, which is what is recommended, until the capacity of the current one is used is degraded.
