I dont think that is really true, unless you insist on running them at 1600x1200 with max AA or HDR or whatever...

Well you have to understand that game engines are nowadays built to be able to take advantage of ever increasing power to future proof it to a certain extent. No new big engine (think Doom 3, Unreal 3 or whatever) is meant to be able to run decently at its max at release. For example, no rig ran Doom3 decently at its most super duper settings when it first came out. It wasnt crappy coding, it was intentional. Also, you'd need a nice big (and expensive) screen to run stuff at super high res anyway otherwise the fonts would be ridiculously small! laugh.gif

Well we dont really know how much of it is real power and how much of it is marketing BS. John Carmack for one has said that the next-gen consoles arent anywhere near as powerful as both MS and Sony would like you to believe.
