Boost the mid-bass? If you're not a "purist", just soft EQ it.. Nonetheless, KC06A scale well with amplification, I recommend it with a use of amp, and no, amp won't boost your bass unless it has bass boost function (like the C421, C5, Digizoid zo2.3), or hardware eq (e17).
Knew it you wore it straight down lol tongue.gif the angled body is sticking out to your ears i guess. Why dont wear them over the ears?
*
No idea how to do the EQ; more like didn't dare to touch it sweat.gif sweat.gif

Did asked Willy about the amplification, she did recommend me to get a better DAC or DAC+AMP combo rather for me to get a standalone amp (i dont have a DAC sad.gif , i was tempting to get a E06 to drive it though) , after the recent purchase of this IEM, I don't think I can buy anything that price range for now doh.gif , for now DAC costs a lot to me. Summer holiday's ending soon, no more part time for me for now :/

I did tried wear it over the ears, It felt weird for me so i swap it back to straight down tongue.gif

I actually do find the eartips to be a little bit hard for me. to have a more comfortable wearing, can also change to comply foam.
I prefer to wear it over ear than straight in as well.
You can try to wear it this way, and see if it's better.

Earlier on just tested on dap like hm901, x3, the bass to me is quite satisfactory. I do listen to rock and metal.
Just tested again on my xiaomi mi3. I do understand why do you think that the bass is lacking. On hp, the bass quantity is lesser, missing a lot of bass details, too loose, soft and not solid. Treble could also be a little bright.

I guess you need a better source and amp for it. i also not too sure if you really prefer more bass than me. can try the thumb drive size dac cum amp from Stoner acoustics like ud110, 120. Should be within your budget. I heard it support otg too.

Set the 200hz region +4db, then one upper level and one lower level for a +2db. Thus, making it curved like. (Like for my player its 150hz and 280hz, they are mostly different, just find the 2xx hz region first). laugh.gif

Golden rule, garbage in garbage out tongue.gif For Ostry, i feel that they are quite source dependent. hmm.gif
Get some cheap budget USB DAC like the hifimediy or UD130, can even pair them with entry level amp like the one you said, E06. (I do not recommend the E06/E07, must get to at least E11 tongue.gif)

If I get standalone DAC drive like UD110, isn't that I still need a standalone amp to drive it? Or do I not need to?

UD110 got build in headphone amp. Actually anything the headphone out should have headphone amp inside including your hp and computer. just that how good it is. UD110 build in amp is for sure better than your hp or computer.

which means after i get myself a UD110v2 (Less likely to get one due to stock) or UD120, there's no means for me to get an amp right?

And through the review of UD series, i saw that they said about you couldn't control the volume unless you reduced it to 16bit (?) i'm confused with this 1

UD110 is volume control capable. But i strongly advise that you use an amp with it because of the power output and the output impedance.

I'm not pretty sure if if you can bypass the build in amp. If can't, pairing it with another amp would be double amping.
Whether there is a need to get another amp? If it can line out, if another amp is much better than the build in amp and you have the budget for it, why not?
I'm not really a UD110 or UD120 user. Just have a chance audition it, and find that it's not bad for the price.

But if you do have budget for both dac + another amp, then you can probably go for DAP like Fiio X1, Colorfly C3.

For the bit rate, actually all normal CD format is 16bit/44.1kHz. 24bit music is not so common unless you manage to purchase or download those files that they extract directly from the master tape. I would think that don't really have to care about the bit rate so much especially for entry level gadgets. As long as it's lossless, it's good enough. The music version (like produce in which year) and production quality are more important than the bit rate.

Probably for now i will get myself a UD120 and borrow amp from my friend.

double amping would make the situation worst right?

May or may not depending on the combination. Sometimes double amping might cause distortion. It's not the normal way of how we set up the device. smile.gif
You can always test it first

Hooked up my KC06a with a E07k, everything sounded more towards my preferences a bit (warm + dark). Very satisfied with the current setup biggrin.gif

E07K sounds a little warm and dark for my taste, but overall for its driving capability it should be sounds pretty good for your KC06A. tongue.gif

guys,

i'm quite noob at this...

i have bought KC06A from liquidgal, i have tested out all the ear buds that come along with it, except the one with "red plastic" on it...
it doesnt seems to be big enough to fit...can any user here guide me?

really enjoying it at the moment, i know my previous razer wasnt good, but i didnt realized how lacking it was until i tried the KC06A...
worth the price, IMO...

Wide bore tips works best. Try either Sennheiser double-flange tips(bass is tamed a little but it gives a bigger soundstage) or JVC'S new Spiral Dot tips

really? i'm currently using the larger, softer ear tips...
thanks for the advice, will definitely look into the two tips you recommended...
