Its dangerous to shoot video while driving regardless what speed.

Also need to reach 90km/h above only see the water beading ? If 60-80kmh can or not ?  rolleyes.gif
*
Actually I have tested 2 types. CarPro FlyBy30 and Gtechniq G1.

Both can work around 80km/hr. But I think there is a trick to get all these glass coating working....

1. Would be the windscreen, the more tilt it is the better.
2. Wind factor. The stronger the wind the water can repel faster at lower speed.

That's just my observation.

So you should notice that most of this windscreen coating youtube video, there is no car at least 50m in front of the car.

Lol.. The thing that i scared most - washing the engine.. So I guess I just leave it first

*Opening manual handbook to learn the engine component parts and everything.. sweat.gif

I thought you should open up the front hood and study it instead....

If yours is not turbo or hybrid, then should be pretty simple.

so far, the result is ok. Going to test the 2nd batch and see the differents nod.gif

Do you still wash your car regularly after the paint defender?

Based on the pricing and 3M's reco, it seems to be very expensive to apply the whole car.

Hey there,

Before I spray, i got it polish and wax. So basically after Spray, my colleague didnt wash his car. But somehow, mother nature decided to help him wash. But so far, it is ok. Not to bad. Paint defender is not recommended for whole car.

It is mainly for the front part as for aerodynamics the force of stones hitting the front part. That is for defending.

Not many consumers will go for it because its expensive and it has to let it sit for hours because can remove your car out from the enclose area. Yesterday night, i tested on a new product as well. Waiting for a week until i get the best outcome.

Liquid wash.. immediately i can see the effect of the glossiness as if i had it wax or polish. Unfortunately, it was dark so I didnt capture any picture. I will try to upload at the soonest.
*
I think the film should be thick enough to protect your car from stone chip. I understand you polish, but wax then apply the film? Sound weird.

I just want to know how will the film react to water, and what if we have to wash the part covered by the film.

If while washing, we accidentally peel the edge of the film. Can we just push it back and make it stick?

My friend who had his car done with opti-coat, the front hood beading gone after 1 year. The roof degrade after 1 year.

The rest of the vertical panel still ok.

The car is coming into 2 years now after application.

He doesn't detail his car like me, just washed with Meg's only on a weekly basis.

Recently just helped him to apply Iron Gloss from Dodo Juice on front hood, can see that he was kind of disappointed with the Opti-Coat on the front hood. Back then kena me brain washed so hard, but the result is not as what promised.

He in only driving a hybrid, wonder how other cars would experience...

His car is wearing the consumer version opti-coat 2.0 or the optimum coating aka opti-guard aka opti-coat pro?
*
Was told it was Opti-Coat before apply.
Well, it was done by the brand owner himself, guess it should not be the issue of application. The car was only 3 months old.

This is my own experience and also of my friend, who knows nothing about detailing. How others experienced it maybe different. Not sure if there is anyone else that can share...

Maybe what krismas said is correct, the Optimum shampoo helps in retaining or adding the durability of the coat. Should have told my friend this... He refused to use ONR simply because no bubbles sweat.gif

But I was thinking, why not the vertical panel while only horizontal panel that was affected only... Is it heat issue or what..?

Actually I was told of the warranty period, but since nothing in hand-writting, should I go back to the detailer?

What would shops/detailers do in issue like this? Re-apply the coat?

I dont think we have 'brand' for IPA.. Correct me if im wrong..

I bought IPA from forumer here..
*
I failed my chemistry even at uni stage...

I think IPA is the nama bahan kimia, for branding purpose you may find something like "Pre wax cleaner" "Eraser" "Remover" etc.

Just that since most of the detailers are OCD-ed, they prefer it "pure". biggrin.gif Hence they will use those that meant for makmal level kind of cleaning agent.

Sounds convincing with ONR after applying Opti-Coat. Well i havent use ONR yet u mean ONR not producing any foam at all?

krismas I always use Meguairs Gold Class Car Wash, would it affect the Opti Coat if one day I plan to coat on the body?   hmm.gif
*
ONR do not produce bubbles like those "snow car wash"... Well, telling someone noob on detailing is like that, no bubbles mean not clean, period. I still laugh even though he is my best friend, hysterically. biggrin.gif

Well, there are plenty of other coating that is easily available in the market. But if you want to try Opti-coat, then should probably use ONR or optimum related products... since it can prolong the durability of the coating, maybe. I say maybe because so far don't see much feedback on the post application.

Maybe paint coating is not a really good idea to detailers, like me and quazacolt. Even after apply paint coat, I still wash my car and wax it like crazy... biggrin.gif

I am not OCD.

Actually it is an experience too on how to apply coating... But i find it rather more pleasing to apply if you have someone to help you doing the buffing. biggrin.gif

Still have 1 bottle 30ml with me ... GTechniq.

krismas still got chinese proverb ... ?

BTW, I think you have tried CeramicPro before. Where did you get it from? Can share more on the application, possible durability?

My friend is going for one, and they claim it is permanent. I was like shocking.gif

Hei Bro, since you are looking for sealant... Put 1 more into the list, Iron Gloss from Dodo Juice.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dp0I36B6P0M

I think Sonax Polymer Net Shield is also a sealant.

Yeah, I contacted Kevin from Maximus who apparently has quite a good reputation amongst car detailers. He told me that a "compound polishing" is required because the "clear cost" is thrashed =(

I don't think this original retailers is going to give me a refund. I think I'm just going to go for Maximus and then lodge a complain against this original detailers at the consumer protection department to get my refund back =( and probably some compensation to ease the additional payment i have to make.
*
To term your car condition with "clear coat is thrashed", I would say is too much.

IF it is already thrashed, you'll see more than hologram. biggrin.gif

But you definitely need a polish job again, or maybe compound to clear the hologram.

A reputable detailer would at least measure the thickness of your car paint to show you the difference.

Since you cannot show any picture, just need to ask, sure not orange peel?

I feel sorry for you. But this one need a real touch up.

Don't need to get too hype up with how many layers, all just marketing gimmicks.

All you need is the horror-gram to go away, and after that slap it with a nice wax.

Good Luck in getting your car back to shinny bright.

Yes I will share my user experience. But my existing wax layer is still holding well so I will need to wait some time.

Haha if use by myself only is overkill in quantity. Just in case anyone not notice this is spray wax, not liquid wax, so each application last like 1 or 2 weeks then have to re-apply. So it will not really last that long.
But still, i enjoy product in a gallon.  tongue.gif
Thanks for the advise. Take note of that when using it.
