Bro, read between the lines...I was being cynical tongue.gif
I have one 'original' and one 'cheapo' (fake?) version of the 3M clay. Without taking the clay out from the container/packing/box/whatever, I don't know whether anybody can notice any differences or not. Maybe somebody would post something about how the packaging of the originasl as compated to the fake ones. But all I can say is this, based on my own personal observations. The 'original' (hopefully it is) I bought from ACE Hardware and the 'cheapo' version I bought from a friend who bought them in bulk from an online seller. From the look alone, no discernible differences. But the 'original' one felt more pliable (more rubbery) and finer as oppose to the 'chepo' one which has a perculiarly 'powdery' feel and also a little bit less pliable. The 'cheapo' one also seemed like has lightened in colour a little...became slightly light blue...after a few uses. Oh...it also turned the lube/water I was using a little bluish. I don't know wheter it's fake or just a bad batch or had been on the shelf for too long, but I've stored it aside after a couple of use cuz I noticed some clay marring and clay transfer onto the surface of the paint. Nothing a light polish cannot handle but it's a bit of a nuisance. Conclusion: it does work but not as good as the 'original' that I purchased for ACE.

So, to answer your question, if you're concern about the genuinity and fear of low quality of the fake ones, better buy them from a reputable store like ACE Hardware or the like. I haven't been able to find any other reputable hardware shop selling them, even the local 3M supplier doesn't carry them...but that was when I asked around 5 years ago la....

Actually I am just curious, why insist on 3M when there are other alternatives?

Entry lvl RM300 machine and glass polish from ACE hardware shop.

Or is there any other recommendations?
*
I think the machine is fine, but maybe the pad is not suitable.
If you have the right combination of liquid and pad, with the machine you have (I'm guessing), it will just take you a little bit longer to achieve the result.

I use this glass polish cleaner WITH the correct pad. I get a streaking clean front windscreen.

What I have learned is, glass is harder to polish than body paint. So using the right combination of pad and liquid, you should be able to remove the stain easily.

Im referring to the windshield u just posted.
I normally clean my car at night (night only im free), so no pic from me at the moment.
Later gt chance i will post some pics.

driving with a clean and coated windshield is very siok when u see the rain just fly away during rain.
I tried driving at 100kph in pretty heavy rain with no wiper on, and still hv the visibility brows.gif

Just sharing. With proper product applied such as Rain X or Windscreen coat, even 60km/h can see the rain flying off already.

I was only 80km/h on highway, no wiper needed.

I can only see rain fly off at 70 and above. laugh.gif
at 60kph the water droplet wont go anywhere
*
Water fly off depend on the surrounding also. Mine can even fly off at 40km/h, if the wind is strong.

But that's not what I wanted to share.

Just saying that with different products, you will see different water droplet pattern. But windscreen coating is more onto safety, at least for me.

Is there anything that can remove windshield wiper scratches? Preferably something easy to get la.
I saw Autoglym glass polish in lelong, seller said can remove scratches, dunno how well the product will work
*
you need to polish the windscreen, with a machine. Hand only is not enough.

You may try Osren.

If this is car paint, you may get to burn some calories. But we are talking about glass, so I would say no.... I've tried it before, so it is a defo NO. laugh.gif

I bought SONAX Synthetic chamois. I prefer this over Osren one, or maybe I use Osren one for too long. (1 year).

Back then when they were moving office, I got the SONAX one for RM9 only...
