wont it mess up the wiper rubber? heard a lot of horror story of rainx

I never use rain-X, because too many of them and I don't know which one is the real thing.....

So I bought TW Rain Repellent:
http://www.halfords.com/motoring/engine-oi...-rain-repellant

But I guess I applied it wrongly, hence can't really see the effect.

Before i get it right, I was intro into glass coating... Been used it since, it lasted 8 months on CarPro FlyBy 40.

Now testing GTechnique G1 on 3 cars and still waiting for my 22PLE windscreen coating.

All these rain repellent helps you greatly on your vision during heavy downpour, my suggestion is all drivers should have this to help them during raining days.

...especially recently with the Jabatan Kaji Cuaca predicted strong wind and heavy rains in Pen Msia.

2 years of G1 still going very strong.
*
Does it come with anything like enhancer?

Like for Carpro, they would recommend 'Reload'.

The 8 month usage of FlyBy 40, I didn't apply any 'Reload'. But it starts to deteriorate after 6 months... On the 8th month, I try to apply liquid wax on my screen with Rupes. Only then I noticed the coating is gone....

Anyway, what is your experience with G1? I have tried both, the effect is only more apparent after 70~80km/j.
But there was this one time that I can see the water flowing off at 45km/j.

Currently still observing the G1 after 3 months, and now the weather is the best to test all those rain repellent liquid.

I don't think it got topper. So far i found its good. Water sheeting would start around 50-60km/h i use the wax buff towel as a 'topper' so to me its just beat all the time... laugh.gif if not it will sheeting gila since paintwork is sheeting so well...

Why you need so particular of water sheeting at what speed ? To me as long it sheet and bead well mean coating is still there... thumbup.gif
*
Actually the speed is just a bench mark for me to start paying attention, the side of the windscreen is always sheeting, just that I need it to be in the center to help my vision when driving.

2 years is a very impressive result.

...I think my skill no OCD level yet. Paint coat and windscreen coat always minus that little bit of durability.

I was being offered Autoglym HD Wax:

retailing $375($375x3.3=RM1100), promo now 15%, $318(318x3.3=RM954.00)

Was told the beading is able to be the same as what I have posted, but no information on durability.

hmmmm.....

Hey, even local off the shelf retail price is cheaper. And one of the kakis is selling his HD Wax + HD Cleanser for RM450 only....that is if you're interested la. But, honestly for me, either way at those price I'd rather go with DDJ Supernatural....
*
Ok, just received another clarification.... It is in RM, not $.

BTW, what is the longest wax durability that you have experienced?

Mine spray wax 3 weeks, paste wax never check.

I think Autoglym HD Wax is in liquid form, this one I lagi dunno... but checking with the promoter. tongue.gif

The Autoglym  Wax is in paste form, the cleanser for it is in liquid form.
Collinite 476/885 lasts pretty long for me, a layer of it should be able to last at least 2-3 months in the Klang Valley.
Btw, HD Wax can be quite durable too (slightly less than Collinite) but has a wetter and sharper look to it.
Both waxes will bead water well smile.gif
*
Mr. W, you are here.

Thanks for the input, the promoter couldn't tell me of the durability.

But to be honest, for that price, wouldn't a semi-permanent coating a clear better option? The durability definitely outlast, isn't it?

Wahh master straight go for rupes..  notworthy.gif

On soft paint I was so shocked to see the hologram created. So I look whether I did not flatten the foam pad but I did and still hologram appear. Changed pad also hologram. Then I go  rclxub.gif
*
I used Rupes, also got hologram. I think what you should check is the pad and liquid combination.

For me, my pad and liquid combination not that good. In the end, I do another round of compound and polish.

today when raining, i notice that my windshield is not clean after my wiper wipe continuously, there's a long spot of tree sap markings on it

i guess it's the tree sap drop on my windshield a few months ago, i must have turn on the wiper and all of it spread into a larger spot on the windshield

although u cant notice it when the windshield is dry and seem to be clean, but it's very obvious when it's wet, how can i get rid of the long markings after for so long time...? sad.gif

You're looking for DIY or window coating shop?
IMHO rainx nowadas is not performing quit well.. Last Friday we had a DIY session (wash-clay-polish-rainx) and when it was raining last saturday the windscreen looks like no rainX applied.. Its just me ya..
*
wash-clay-polish-rainx

I think should be wash-clay-polish-clean-Apply IPA-rain X. Also is your polish meant for windscreen/glass?

So, I should just leave it as it is?

Yes master.. After polished windscreen being cleaned and wipe down before apply rainX..

Am using glass polishing pad and Osren windscreen polish quartz something forgot name ady..
*
Then maybe like 1 bro said, your screen is not clean enough.

I have tried other water repellent products, I didn't even polish it and yet it can repel water nicely.

Maybe you can try krismas's suggested method of letting it on over-night.

Hmmm... I am confused. I thought all QD just clean, that's why I do some spray wax most of the time.

I have a few different QD. Have anyone tried Mothers's Showtime? http://www.mothers.com/02_products/08224.html

Hi guys,

I just did coating and nowadays heavy raining everyday and I wash my car once a week, but last time I wash my car with normal shampoo also cannot remove the stubborn stain, the stain can only remove when I using my finger to rub it off, like the photo below, how to remove it? my car is white.

*
Sorry, your car is white??? The roof looks like brown.

Anyway, this is water mark. If it can be rubbed off, then still not severe. I think water mark remover should be able to help, but that depend on what paint coat that you applied.

Be careful with OPC usage, it is very strong that it might stain your panel.

Suggest is to spray onto a cloth and wipe, instead of onto the panel directly.
