Bought this. From osren. Similar to that of rupes in design and it is a 15mm throw. They have not updated this product in their web, it is their new product line

Comes with 6 months warranty, 5inch backing plate.
Priced @950 before gst.
Ultramate will revised to rm750 (if I am not wrong) with only 5inch plate instead of 5+6
During tryout, this has less vibration and more balanced weight distribution compared to ultramate. Less noisy too.

Tired of hand polishing and waxing. So invested total of 1200 for the machine and pads. Can't wait to try this out when holiday comes.

Hand polishing wise, meguairs ultimate compound + polisher grants satisfactory result. Especially the u.polish, darkens the car a lot. For black cars, it is darn good

Hey ePrince!

I can safe to say, the Swirl X have removed the Swirls.
I still have minor scratches but that is fine.

I may be planning for the DA next to take my detailing to the next level.

Detailing 2 cars by hand is absolute killer sad.gif
*
Yes i agree, by hand is pita, however, for someone like me who decided to polish by da polisher (yesterday was first time handling), my hand hurts like mad today from all the vibration! Soring like nobody's business.

Sometimes if I'm not confident, I inspect by a diluted IPA wipe down, just to make sure swirls are properly polished

Guys, I haven been using Bosch ROB for AIO and wax. Sometime the humming sound can be heard loudly from the car panel. May I know what causing this? Skill ? Angle of the pad? Pressure?
*
I would say it's common, kepoh tengok orang detail near my office and some cars do produce sound. My adaptive theory is the transfer of vibration from the polisher to the metal that produces sound, like how sounds are produced.

sound great for me...however, could you share with me how to do?

Did you try ultimate polish before?
*
I have experience with ultimate polish, by hand and da polisher.
By hand, with some elbow grease, paired with yellow applicator sponge, does nothing....more like utilising its fillers for scratches... With microfiber hand polisher pad, does a little removal of light scratches.

With da polisher, on finishing black pad, gives good finishing after ultimate compound.

Also, it really brings shine to dark colored cars.

@douglas_tong, any recommendation for a DA polisher?

Meg's DA is selling for 2.5k @ Motormad sad.gif

Otherwise, I was only thinking of going the Meg's DA Power System (the plug to drill setup).

The Osren's Ultramate DA is a good machine to start with. Priced around RM700/800
http://osren.com/product/tools-and-accesso...action-polisher

I got myself a da polisher from Osren too, shared not too long ago. It is not the ultramate version though. Osren currently have 2 line ups of da polisher. One with 9mm throw and the other with 15mm throw.

Ultramate will be revised to RM750 after cny and the 15mm throw is priced at RM950.
Ultramate tend to be noisier and produce more vibration compared to the latter one. I spent a total of RM 1200 for 1 da polisher and 3 pads.

Anybody knows what is the best method to clean the those LC polishing/waxing pads? Just use clothes washing powder or dishwashing liquid?
*
Don't use powders. Use liquid detergent.

True story because drive ammo nyc's channel did explain.

Me just taruh dalam washing machine with liquid washing detergent smeared around the pads

All the discussion about spray wax...was wondering if a weekly wash with wash and wax shampoo, regular topping up of wax/sealant still required?

My method is this:
1. Weekly wash with wash and wax shampoo
2. Last week of the month = sheer wash (optimum car wash) and top up with carpro reload
3. 2-3 months (depending on schedule) will perform claying and jewel polish (ultimate polish), IPA wipedown + carpro reload application.

Any comments on this?

I would skip the ipa wipe...the polish hides swirls which is what you want...so just top with reload...

Wash n wax shampoo doesn't add much wax...I would use normal shampoo, detailer and/or reload weekly or alternate weeks.

Presume you have a tar removal step somewhere as required.

If it's not a white car...you could try to extend polishing to 6 months...the detailer helps keep it clean enough and your reload helps...
*
the reason of ipa wipe is because in my experiment, reload doesn't bond well with meguairs ultimate polish. too much oil i think? If i perform ipa wipe, it does seem to produce more shine.

It's been a while since I last use tar removal, usually when I'm doing a full car correction, else i just perform a clay cleaning. Not sure if clay would actually remove tars or not.

Yes, it's black car. Though reload claims that it helps removing water spots, based on my experience, it doesn't. And the protection against it is less than what a wax can do. Reason for not topping it up with a wax is because it beads any wax like mad no matter how thin i apply. applying wax on top of it would seem redundant. But in terms of gloss, reload is something to be impressed about.

2-3 months polishing is to remove above surface contaminants, ultimate polish imo doesn't correct much with a finishing pad. Reload doesn't actually have any cleaning abilities like QD and serves as a pure sealant.

I also did an experiment with onr diluted in QD ratio to use as a drying aid. Does bring shine and provide some cleaning abilities. Its cleaning ability is really impressive even as QD. My current QD is perma glass brand and I find it to underperform compared to onr, so I use it to pick up bird's poo since it is very lubricious and use onr to clean it after. Have not experiment PG QD as a top up, i would expect it to leave streaks though.

not sure why but everytime i apply carpro reload the oil stain is very hard to buff away eventhough it is just 1 spray for whole bonnet, any advice?

i had to use carpro eraser to lighten it everytime.
*
Before application make sure to shake the bottle, give a good 5 sec shake.

Apply with damp mf tower, this will help instead of applying it dry.

Use a second dry mf to buff.

moving to different panel, make sure to shake it again.

pardon my ignorance laugh.gif as I've not used carpro products...yes these nano stuffs usually don't work well with traditional polishes and waxes...so IPA is required.

yes I know...what I meant is QD after every wash to keep it cleaner and you might extend the need to polish beyond 2-3 months...however you know best...

ya QD is a cleaner and has not to my knowledge been associated as a "top up" to ADD gloss n protection...

where do you guys get your carpro/reload stuff from?
*
Back then someone here sold it for a very competitive price, no longer carry it as exchange rate was difficult to bring in more stocks.

Currently I am getting it from waregem, some are on pre-order basis. Just made my order on carpro essence during cny and can't wait to try it. reviews have been extremely good and recommended by many detailers.

You can also get it from waxson, the sole distributor of carpro products in Malaysia. They sell all ranges except for cquartz. Unless you are a detailer with shop, else they don't sell it to end users. I find waregem price to be cheaper than theirs.

In terms of QD as for cleaning ability, onr is seriously good as drying aid, and way cheaper. Must have product! But doesn't go well with weekly wash and wax shampoo.
I notice that wash and wax shampoo is less effective in cleaning, or at least the brand that i'm using. (Mothers) But produce best shine. Whereas onr cleans effectively and gives fair shine (but not as shiny as wash and wax shampoo)

Sorry guys for interrupting. Today I just bought my car some product. I had the normal car shampoo and a P&G wonder clay (medium) version. Now my problem is I don't know what kind of material I need to wash my car. The microfiber at the auto section is quite expensive. Do normal microfiber work for washing the car. Do tesco had any of this material that is cheaper compare to those that are meant for auto use.
*
Use car wash shampoo, pg brand should do.
Tesco sells wash mitt, if I'm not wrong its going around 11.90?

Bought degreaser and had it diluted at 1:10 rate.

Thought it is safe for aloi and clear coat since it is claimed as so , but turns out my rim had its clear coat stripped. Anyone encounter this before? It's frustrating.

are you sure?...i don't expect it would...even paint remover gotta use full strength...post a picture pls...

perhaps it removed all the polish, wax, oil, etc...and you are seeing the marring of the clear coat...let it dry, polish it and it will be good as new...
*
I don't coat my rims with anything so perhaps I could be wrong. I wash it weekly with car shampoo and had no problem.

yup...did you try a cleaner wax on it? try a small spot first for a confidence boost...believe it should clear up after buffing...
*
hmm i do not have any cleaner wax. Usually I would just take the extra steps in polishing with a jewel polish (meguiars ultimate polish), wipe down with IPA and apply sealant.

Or would any LSP do? I shall soon have an AIO product in my arsenal : carpro essence.
or do you have any recommendations?

ok shall give it a try perhaps tonight if i finish work early.
though i'm quite skeptical about the polishing part since u.polish is rather weak.

thanks

ya i just went to tesco and found a auto 3 pack microfiber only rm10.90. and the wash mist was at 11.90 (MF version)
. But is there a different with a wash mist and a MF cloth? because i was not comfortable using the wash mist, it felt un easy and i prefer the way i use MF to wash the car. i can wash, fold and refold again and also twist the cloths.

what is the best way to wash a car. BTW i found it hard to find the detailer spray, i used the shampoo foam to lubricated when i clay bar the car. Thanks for the advice ya...
*
Better to use mitt...

It is designed to pick up and dislodge dirts. Microfiber towers would not loose those dirts as easy as mitt and in return would cost unwanted swirls if not careful. I would stick with mitts
