There's no problem with wireless, it's just prone to inteference. It might not happen, but if it does, just make sure you have a secondary recording going on just in case if anything goes wrong. Try look at Sennheiser's range.

I just remembered there's another camera model with 4 audio channel recording; the Panasonic HPX (RM16k, records to P2 cards), cheaper than the HVX (RM20K, records to P2, miniDV). If 2 channel recording is fine, there's the HMC at RM13k (records to SD cards).

Then you have the consumer series, Canon's HFS series or Panasonic's TM or HS series. Remember to test the features you need before buying them. Followed by a 2 channel XLR adapter, make your choice if you need phantom power.

The cheapest option would be, RCA to stereo line if you don't mind ambient and music both mono. Since you have a PA system, volume of each channel output controlled. And a wireless transmitter can be thrown into the mix. All the best!

How abt AG-HVX200? any comments??

is P2 better? coz it's easy to transfer to PC for Editing works. (correct me if i wrong)

if i want 2 fix a wireless interface for audio from PA to Cam.
do i need 2 get a stand alone receiver? thn that's better i use a DI n send the signal by cable. coz the receiver oso needs power as well.

Just came back from PC Fair KL. Bought myself a Sony Handycam HDR-XR350E. Got lots of freebies like external DVD Writer, umbrella, towel, Sony Vegas Studio 9, extra battery & bag for the handycam. smile.gif

P2 altogether is better for editing, delivery and has more detail as it's 4:2:2 colour space. Maybe look into the HPX, minus the miniDV feature. It's cheaper.

The transmitter can be a power plugged type or a portable. Of course, portable uses battery, and so does the receiver in both cases.
You'll have to check with the specs of the power plug transmitter whether it accepts DI.

2)Excellent OIS as we'll be fliming our trip so there will be a lot of shakes here and there tongue.gif
3) Excellent frame rate 30+
4)Optical zoom around 10x++?
5)User friendly-simple to use,not too much hassle setting up the settings.Basicall PnS lar icon_idea.gif

Also looking for camera, looking at AVCHD, FullHD, all solid state. Range bawah RM2000 and after full research, the new 2010 series from SONY CANON and PANY leads only to Panasonic HDC-SD60. The sony don haf optical stabilisaton while the canon has 1/2 pixel at the lcd screen, plus sum more the panny has the best noise perf amongst the three, big MOS sensors. Can get for >RM1700 sum more. Pany dun haf mic in at all.

However, still considering buying the HDS-SD60 or buying older models for example (trying to source cheaply) Panny TM300, Canon HF10 etc. etc..

Any idea sifu? Buy new camera or buy yester years model at a cheaper price? I do wish can get a camera with physical manual focus and hot shoe.

1)The first question already falls to RM 2500 above. There's once before JVC GZ-HD40 offering HDV equivalent (the format called CBR 1440). No more on production and hard to find at shop. Other same with it is JVC GZ-HD7 (but looks like pro-cam). Last offer saw at Sen-Q Sunway, for clearance sale (Feb 10). Not sure still have it now.
The rest need to ask other sifu here . notworthy.gif

After bought it, have play around with it. So far pretty satisfy with it. The stabilizer has a neat function where even you zoom it is still stable even if you have unsteady hands. But it will only be stable up to 12X. The HDMI output is only meant for viewing in a HDTV (which I haven't tried yet) but the videos so far is very clear (I previously use a tape type of videocam so this one is like much much better & easier compare to the old one). I have only use the Standard Video (DVD quality) so far as I like to do some editing on it. Haven't tried taking video in HD format as don't think my laptop would be able to support it (heard it uses lots of processing power & RAM).

It seems like once you take your videos, it will automatically take a snapshot of the video and save it to your memory card. Good thing about it also that previously, it will only accept Pro Duo Memory Card but now it could accept SD Card type. Very easy for me to snap photo and transfer it to my laptop.

The bad points is it is still quite dark during night time. Need proper lighting in order to view the video. For the XR550, it provide the Night Vision video but don't think I need it as I don't like taking video in a green lighting smile.gif

Anyway, since you ask for a demo video, this is a video taken by me during an event recently. Still not steady yet. Bought a tripod already with remote so will be using it for long time usage. smile.gif

For those who can't view the video bcos of firewall etc, here's the link

Why buy an AVCHD camcoder when you can shoot FHD using a DSLR?This is what i'm thinking to myself...why?

Except the huge HDD,how can a camcoder beat a DSLR?DSLRs have much more superior ISO performance, superior AF and MF,ability to change lenses, can do bokeh shots, very very good low light performance due to mega huge Full Frame sensor

DSLRs can also fit in super long telephoto lenses like 500mm which camcoders cannot even dream of such long zooms.

So why???Why should one opt for a camcoder instead of a DSLR capable of FHD video recording? The cheapest DSLR with FHD is 3K which is the EOS 550D

if u r talking about a pro cam vs dslr, this subject has been Discuss alot (u will find out if u google it). they have difference purpose, a pro cam attached with 35mm adapter can switchs lens just just any dslr do.

if u r talking about normal cam vs dslr. they have difference usage too. a normal ppl buy a cam just want point it and shoot and having 10x or 2ox zoom w/o buying another 1k zoom lens tongue.gif, no need to worry anything setting and blahblah iso shutter etc (also not all ppl also like the blurry look of bokeh whistling.gif)
they will never replace each other (unless whole world ppls also want go pro gears)

I have also opted for the Sony XR350E and played with it for a week or so with the limited time that I have. You can see my first impressions in my Sony XR350 Blog. Will share more after my Germany trip. Cheers.
