Guys guys... it is always like that. Price for phones only drop. They dont maintain unlike Iphones. laugh.gif
*
when i buy a phone... i expect the value to drop/ depreciate. as long as i'm happy with the price i paid (with the expectation that the value/ price will drop), i'm ok. life is too short to regret about these things.

only time when i don't expect my purchase to drop is when i buy a house. biggrin.gif

Depends how smart the thief, but if like Directd STYLE flash CM11S into OPO sure survive just like those Chinese Bloatware stay in CM11S.
1) Flash without wipe (Ceberus stay)
2) Flash and wipe (Ceberus gone)

But mostly thief would just factory reset.
*
flash and wipe as in... wipe from? recovery?

So call Oleophobic Coatings are just SO SO only. Also is not using 2.5D Curving Technology. I use another cheaper brand name "Mocolo" are way better coatings, but is not on OnePlus One model, because all the while I thought Nillkin brand are good Glass SP brand, but until I try something else. shakehead.gif Then only found out the Nillkin brand are over-rated.
*
i consider nillkin as cheapo brand. dunno why ppl look so highly on them. smile.gif

QUOTE(TOMEI-R @ Aug 28 2014, 11:38 AM)
Nillkin is not overated. Just that is the cheapest and most easily available on the market. laugh.gif

All that crap about oleophobic coatings are just crap. Just like some bro here, put on some Rain X and its oleophobic ready.  laugh.gif
*
agreed on the olepphobic coating. i never buy SP based on this coz i know it'll go off after a while, especially if one uses soap to wipe the SP like i do. smile.gif

and yes, just put RainX or something and it'll have a temp coating.

for me... i just wipe the SP once a day or so. coz... honestly, the screen is one of the dirtiest part of the phone. lots of bacteria. so, with fingerprints, its a reminder to myself to wipe the screen clean.

QUOTE(DannyOP @ Aug 28 2014, 12:02 PM)
For me Oneplus is a bigger version of Nexus 5.

Nexus 5 strong point is not hardware but software. It is guaranteed to be the latest and most stable Android,  no other Android software will be able to match in this area. Even with older Snapdragon 800, it will perform on par with Snapdragon 801 for daily usage. Surprisingly with the latest updates some reviewers have placed the camera above Oneplus Ones. Durability also better,  it survived a 20 feet throw without breaking,  only back cover damaged. For my Oneplus, the plastic chrome so easily dented from a knock few centimetres away.  I don't dare to fathom how it will fare with a 20 feet throw.
*
dun really agree its most stable since there have been occasions where the update wasn't stable and a patch was released not to long after that.

nexus is meant to be a developer device and give developers a reference point with latest API, etc... so they can implement the latest stuff from android.

for me, i go for overall package -- ideally have a mix of stuff so i don't have to download from different developers to get all the stuffs. smile.gif

Maybe TS could add a poll for this?

It get kind of annoying when it is on a white background. Other than that, it is hardly noticeable. I hope it will go away after a few weeks (fingers crossed) of usage.
*
just FYI... no polls allowed in Android section for topics related to specific phones. we had a poll in the earlier V (to see CN vs INT sets) and the poll got removed by mods.

so, if wanna do poll, feel free to create a new thread on Android section. smile.gif

quite surprised when everyone said 16GB is not enough.lol

for me 16GB is more than enough coz i dont store really store a lots of video & mp3 on my phone.maybe around 5 camera recorded video & 15-20 mp3's.as for my pictures, i've set it to sync with dropbox/other cloud storage.
in short, most of my stuff are stored in the cloud & some of them are directly transferred to my server

oh well,it's up to the individual.hehe
*
depends on individual, as u guys have said.

i like to have my videos with me... some is the whole series. there's also a few FullHD movies. i like to have them with me as i can watch them anytime i want. my telco don't have 100% coverage, so in places where i have no access to cloud and i only got lousy 512k steamyx, it'll be a pain to watch the movies. or listen to songs. also, monthly quota only 2GB, and i prefer not to waste it downloading the same stuff over and over again when i wanna watch or listen to songs.

long term, better off buying 64GB than pay more for bandwidth. well, that's how i view it anyway. smile.gif

Ok thanks just in case I ever need extra storage there's always this option then.  Anyways if I were to choose now there is not a big price difference between 16 and 64 so a lot of people will choose 64gb now that it's dropped to rm1.2k.
*
supports OTG.

just sharing... anyone who dun wanna have the hassle of extra cables to connect usb thumb drives... 64GB san disk dual usb stick going for rm150 or so (might have dropped over the last few weeks). this usb stick has got two ends -- regular USB and microUSB. so plug into computer... copy files... eject... plug into phone... use. smile.gif

i've stopped using chrome after one of my sifu introduced me to Dolphin  biggrin.gif
*
stopped using dolphin when they introduced new permissions that i wasn't too happy with -- i think it was run when the phone starts. never understood why they needed that coz earlier version i used back then didn't have it.

Can control the permission with the 1+1 built in app ops like and for services that run at boot, can install 3rd party apps that can block them from running.
*
actually, where is this option? i could not seem to find it...

example, if i wanna disable or remove the "run when phone starts" permission, what do i need to do?

if you already have your prefered recovery, then just leave it there.but there is no harm to reflash the recovery  rclxms.gif
*
QUOTE(xxdesire @ Sep 3 2014, 08:55 AM)
Not needed unless you want to update the recovery.
*
thanks...

also... read earlier about some modem file giving better 4G speed. can i assume i just need to find the fastboot ZIP file, extract the modem file (NON-HLOS.bin) and just run that particular line in fastboot?
CODE
10e) fastboot flash modem NON-HLOS.bin

thanks... smile.gif
