i owned Mi3 for couple of weeks before ditched it for OPO. the camera is just ordinary to me nothing wow about xiaomi phone. but OPO camera is way way better and even so good in low light!
*
QUOTE(xxdesire @ Aug 18 2014, 02:49 PM)
I kinda agree with the camera on Mi3 compare to 1+1. (my sis have a Mi3, and during my 1+1 play time, I tested both out)
IMHO, CM camera software is... not bad, but not that good either. They have been improving throughout the years.
*
i've seen some mi3 camera shots (supposedly good ones shared on the net). they weren't really impressive.

i've seen good shots by OnePlus that was ahared on the net... dem good. but...

seriously, tried taking photos on OnePlus... under bright conditions, the camera is OK. but low lights... its quite disappointing. the noise is quite obvious.

and my really, really main issue with OnePlus camera is... its dem slow to start up. i was hoping that with such high end specs, one can immediately launch the camera and take photos (like s4) but sadly... i find the camera a bit too slow for my liking.

Guys I just bought opO last nite, and got a system update called XNPH25R Incremental. Should I just do the install? Thanks..

PS : I left my phone for nearly whole day. And decreased by 2% only.. Then I turn on WiFi and browsing.. Now decreased like 4% in like 15 mins...
*
huh? 25R incremental? not 30O?

btw, no update yet...

so plugged in the SIM card into the phone, hoping that may change things. still no update. in fact, after that, I noticed that when I click to check update, almost immediately I get no new update message. there isn't even a progress bar. I'm really hoping I don't have to do factory reset.

the other thing I noticed after plugging in the SIM card... this phone don't really detect signal well. in area where I could get at least 1 bar on my note 2, I wasn't getting any stable signal. I could see the signal bar going from 3 to 1 and then change to E. then back again to 3G. as a result of that, I could not even start Speedtest.

ouch...

anyway, removed SIM card. will do more tests later on this week... hopefully.

my friend just send me a link to groupon, they selling OPO also, rrp rm2k yo! icon_idea.gif
*
errr... i think i shared in last V... 16GB version... i recall rm1.2k or something.

QUOTE(newrehmi @ Aug 18 2014, 11:55 PM)
Yeah.. that is what was written..
now i just checked system updates again under about phone.. got some loading bar at half, for 30O incremental. I think this must be the latest one.

anyway, these are some recent issues i've been pondering about :
- charging took quite long. like 15-20 minutes just for 4% only.
- battery seems to drain fast, especially when using wifi and browsing, just decreased like 40% for few hours of use. but a 2% can last for more than 12 hours, when put idle. not sure if this is normal, since i am not really familiar with smartphone.
- camera just crashed before.. just rebooted to fix it.

anything i missed on recent threads for similar issues?

other than these, this phone works so great and beautiful.. wink.gif
*
what are you using to charge? 40mins only 4% is kinda slow. you're not using it for gaming when you were charging, right?

as for battery drain when surfing... you need to be more specific la... a few hours... 8 hours? 10 hours? or 3 hours? smile.gif if 40% after use for 9 hours... i think its excellent!

QUOTE(lowyard @ Aug 19 2014, 04:12 AM)
You're right. I'm still figuring out what settings is best just to match what Mi 3 can offer me last time.
that's what I think too.
*
please share if you find a good settings for low lights. coz really quite disappointing, besides the other points i highlighted.

QUOTE(QiW @ Aug 19 2014, 07:11 AM)

using usb to laptop.. no i dont use it for anything.. it's the same even wifi turned off.
anyway, should i get the 30O incremental update? so that maybe later i can wait for the next update.?
*
unfortunately, i don't think there's an equivalent of GCC for OnePlus. not sure if it will work too... but i'm suspecting your USB port isn't giving out a lot of juice/ power. hence, the slow charging. cable and USB port plays a role as well.

on my laptop, if i don't adjust the cable properly, i may get about 200mAh... if adjusted properly, i can get like 400mAh. this is on my Note 2. but it should be the same with other phones. basically, need to make sure you got a good USB port + good cable.

i recently found out that best USB cable for charging should have rating of 28AWG/24AWG. unfortunately, i still have not found a way to tell if a cable is rated that way...

im not going to go into the details of usb cables. suffice for u to know, samsung's cable head, the pins are not full, some are missing, not as per full pins. hence, slow charging.
*
QUOTE(TOMEI-R @ Aug 19 2014, 10:56 AM)
I agree to that. However those are original cables which charges my Samsung phones well. Oh well, maybe different phone have to use a different cable thats all. Anyway, thanks for your info.
*
QUOTE(Haters_Gonna_H8 @ Aug 19 2014, 11:09 AM)
because, it is meant for samsung, the usb port on ur samsung is specifically designed to receive power from the port
*
i recall there USB has got some standards when it comes to how things are wired, etc... they can't simply swap things around and still call it USB. smile.gif

i've been reading up and there are mention of cables with 28/28AWG vs 28/24AWG. those with 28/24AWG would actually give you better charging experience. its got to do with the "thickness" of the cable.

I'm no expert in USB/cables/etcetc but I do research around (asking which/what manufacturer come with good quality stuff) and most of the time I test my devices with different OEM cables from varieties of my toys and I find Asus one's are good. The non-oem I used are by Monoprice; which I used to charge my late 1+1.
*
yes, monoprice came out a lot when i searched for 28/24AWG. they are quite cheap but when trying to order from Amazon, they don't ship to MY... ouch...

ok, was surfing while on 1% batt yesterday..then it auto off. When i plug in to recharge and on back it said "Android is updating" for like 1sec, then straight to my lock screen. Once i unlock, error msg start popping like "gmail stop responding" "Android services stop responding" etc...repeatedly. Done a factory reset, once on back its full of problems; -home screen not working - google store, web browser dissapear - unable to receive calls - no lock screen etc (too many to list down).

Im lousy on these trouble shoot and root thingi..gonna bring back to Directd. On 4.4.4 and CM30O -end of rant-

Lesson of the day, never use fone on 1% battery  cool2.gif
*
for Lithium Ion batteries which is used in most smartphones these days... its very bad to actually fully deplete the battery. it behaves opposite of nickel metal hidrate which needs to complete discharge, else you get "memory effect".

can read more here:
http://batteryuniversity.com/learn/article...m_ion_batteries

browse around the site for more good articles. it was shared before by benny888 on other threads.

QUOTE(TOMEI-R @ Aug 19 2014, 02:19 PM)
Thats one of the reasons too.
Do remember that nickel–metal hydride battery (NiMH) batteries does not have memories on how often you charge your phone. Therefore it is not neccessary to use your phone till it drains out and recharge it. Risking using your phone to this level may actually damage your phone or the contents and data in it as it could suddenly shut down due to lack of power left in the batteries.
*
errr... boss... you mean Lithium Ion, right? smile.gif

QUOTE(lbkly @ Aug 19 2014, 02:49 PM)
wow...official case is a no go...any official case users facing such problem?

I am on 1+ orange case, still looking good.
*
i'm using the official transparent case... regret getting it... hahaha...

Anybody here using Umobile?
Do you guys have like signal keep going up and down?
*
using... yes, I shared 1-2 days back... connection was kinda bad on the phone. where my note 2 could get some decent signal, it was barely registering on the OnePlus One. but I wasn't sure if it's telco or phone.

and when got signal, it bounced between E & H+.

hi guys, using a 64gb version here

and im having the exact same problem too, after restart then ok for a while, after that it will happen again  cry.gif

im wondering is it due to the latest update to the cyanogenmod, currently on 11.0-XNPH30O

unsure.gif

QUOTE(ultraportable @ Aug 20 2014, 11:47 AM)
90% its due to the update

unlikely... coz mine is still running 25R.

hmm.gif Not sure why they put 30O there since it's still bugged but oh well.

No point doing so since there are already flashable zip at the forum (like xda)
*
tried to remove the FASTBOOT and see if i can download the regular zip like before. but... dun have.

anyway, i think its right to put it up as others may want to experiment, etc... so at least there's a place to get official file. but they should also provide link to older versions.

sorry if this question been asked before .

my phone shut down on 10% of battery , did any 1 facing this problem before ? how to fix ?

QUOTE(lbkly @ Aug 20 2014, 01:38 PM)
Looking at so many cases, it's weird, few times I stress the battery until 4% then only charge...never encountered auto shutdown before.

I'm still on 25R, stock kernel, rooted and no extra "advanced" setting at all.
*
i guess we need to start comparing...

INGfusion set should already be running 30O, right? all stock? any special apps that you installed that may do this?

anyone else running 30O that can run the phone below 10% battery level?

QUOTE(xxdesire @ Aug 20 2014, 02:29 PM)
My late 1+1 manage go 4% and still alive.
Last Friday (15Aug) night I received 30O update > updated it. (Afternoon I asked for prediction and night time got OTA liao  brows.gif )
Anyway so after I update it, decided to wait for the infamous battery drain, and seems like my unit don't have that problem (phew).
At 4% still alive and kicking; so decided to charge it while I go to sleep. Don't think my unit got any problems described in this forum. And I test kaw kaw the phone during my test time.

Maybe hardware(battery) problem? Not sure.

Btw, that time everything was stock 30O, no root.
*
got restart, etc? maybe the battery drain starts after restart... same thing about phone shutdown... hahaha...

but ya, ideally, better not to let battery drain.

however, if shutdown at 10%... that's bad... imagine end of day, emergency... battery at 11%... then when wanna make call... abttery drop to 10... phone shutdown and cannot power on. dem jialat.

if you do that to say camera (i know Samsung does this for the camera's flash), then i understand. but power down phone at 10% is overkill.

btw, anyone got check on JIRA if others have complained the same thing?
