Please make sure you downloaded the 30o update. Once you managed to be on 30o, only then you can download the latest update for 33r.

Mine is on the left. His on the right. Everything is great now. Had to flash stock 30o and then side load 33r on his device.

So if any one of you guys need my help, you can come over to my place, get to know each other, chit chat, and get it done. =)

heheh actually i also almost panic when the fastboot flash system.img got stuck. then i tried to turn on the phone but it wont go pass boot screen. i kept my cool n browse the net for solution n then decided to just flash it again for the 2nd time. success. then i turned it on and everything is well again.

QUOTE(TOMEI-R @ Aug 23 2014, 09:01 AM)
What irks me is that by flashing our firmware manually sometimes will prevent future OTA updates like what happen to some of our forummers here. That is what that is preventing me from doing so.
*
to my findings, those who flashed edited updates are the one who will not get to receive the ota. because the edited updates have already by passed the requirements of the official ota update. therefore, ota wont come in and they need to rely on edited updates to install or in other words, they need to do updates manually all the time in the future.

i think case in point would be gurvin.

correct me if im wrong ya. notworthy.gif

meanwhile, the one that i did to my phone and asyraf was using the original cm11s rom, and untouched ota. i just simply manual flashed it and did nothing else.

if lets say the ota failed to install (usually due to modifications on the current rom), i'll always find the root cause of the problem (for example by replacing the edited xml with original xml) n tried to make my rom to meet the requirements of the ota. in other words, i'll not look for edited ota/updates to by pass the error, but instead i'll try to fix all the highlighted problems displayed when the error codes popped up. hope u get what im trying to say.

I'm still on XNPH25R and still no OTA for XNPH30O. Tried manually flashing through stock recovery and it gives me this error that footer is wrong and verification failed.
Tried another edited zip file gives me error status 7.
Any ideas on how to get the update and kind enough to give instructions if it requires the use of a computer?
I'm on a Mac BTW.

So actually when you get your phone, you're in 22. Then you got Ota to 25r. But since then, you never get to receive Ota for 30o and 33r, right?

Yes and you might need to flash them one by one. Such is exactly what I did yesterday to asyraf's opo.

You can try to minimise the hassle by using the control c for copying the text and then right click anywhere within the command window and click paste.

those apps like play books, play newsstand, are not considered bloatware?

Be careful. Gurvin uninstalled some default wallpapers and that's what preventing him from getting ota. Since then, he need to side load edited ota only.

Later the files you delete will appear as error during ota. Error 7 blablabla system/app/voice_plus.apk

Like some sifu here said, simply disable them. When wanna do ota, enable them back. This way, the files is never deleted.

Guys today got one good info wanna share , did anyone recieve any incremental update from cynogenmod ? and i did and i update it and now when people call they cant hear me and i cant hear them and after i restart my phone and it work for a while than come back the same problem . I seriously blame that bloody upgrade @@ tulan !!

I faced this shit yesterday. And let me explain how it happened to me.

The phone was connected to my car audio system via Bluetooth. Then I made a call using viber. I can hear the other person but apparently they're having difficulties hearing me. So I decided to use the earpiece instead. Then I realised viber doesn't have that option. So I ended the call, disconnect bluetooth, and call using viber again. Now I can't hear anything.

Then I call using GSM coz I thought maybe viber has gone crazy again. Still everything was silent. I rebooted the phone, made a call again, still the same. I tried to calm myself down, then tried to make a voice message via whatsapp and it's not working. So it's like everything involving the mic doesn't work. I proceed to listen a song via Spotify. No sound. I adjust the volume where you are supposed to hear the beep but, no sound. So now I know everything involved with speaker and mic, are not working. I reboot again but to no avail.

At this point I was so full of regret for not making a nandroid backup. Before I decided to restock the phone, I felt like I should reconnect the phone to the car audio system via Bluetooth again, just coz I feel like it. To my surprise, I can listen to spotify. I tried to make a call again and it's working normally. And so is whatsapp voice message. But I dare not to test viber at that time, hehe.

So I disconnect the bluetooth, and test everything again and all is fine now. I was so relieved but I was not satisfied coz I don't know what caused the craziness and what solved the problem. To me it was a mere luck.

I'm sorry I might not be able to help for Mac laptop. Use Windows and do as stated below.

WARNING: this method is for clean install. all your data will be lost.

1. Download xnph30o from this link here

2. Download android sdk slim here

3. extract android sdk slim in C drive. so the fastboot.exe will be in C:\androidsdkslim

4. Hold shift key and right click anywhere in the androidsdkslim folder. select 'open command window here'. a command prompt should be on the screen.

5. turn off phone. then, press volume up button AND power button together till it vibrate, then let it go. you should now see the word 'fastboot mode' with a face.

6. in the command prompt, type 'fastboot devices' and you should see a serial number of some sort underneath it. if nothing appeared, you haven't got the driver installed. get the driver here. if this failed to install, try this one.

7. now type 'fastboot oem unlock'. this will unlock the bootloader and erase everything on your phone. once done, disconnect usb, then get your phone back to fastboot mode. now connect the usb cable.

8. now type 'fastboot devices' again to make sure it can detect your phone. if it detect, please proceed.

9. now unzip all the files within the cm-11.0-XNPH30O-bacon-signed-fastboot.zip to the androidsdkslim folder. there are about 15 or more files within the zip which includes system.img, NON-HLOS.bin and many more.

10. now type each of the codes below and press enter and wait for it to be done before proceeding to another (files like system.img would take some time to flash completely). type without the numberings of course.

10a) fastboot flash boot boot.img

10b) fastboot flash system system.img

10c) fastboot flash recovery recovery.img

10d) fastboot flash cache cache.img

10e) fastboot flash modem NON-HLOS.bin

10f) fastboot flash sbl1 sbl1.mbn

10g) fastboot flash dbi sdi.mbn

10h) fastboot flash aboot emmc_appsboot.mbn

10i) fastboot flash rpm rpm.mbn

10j) fastboot flash tz tz.mbn

10k) fastboot flash LOGO logo.bin

NOW PAY ATTENTION. if you have 16GB OPO, proceed to 10l)... If you have 64GB OPO, proceed to 10m).. DO NOT DO BOTH. DO NOT MAKE A MISTAKE HERE COZ ELSE, YOUR 64GB OPO WILL END UP 16GB ONLY.

10l) fastboot flash userdata userdata.img

OR

10m) fastboot flash userdata userdata_64g.img

by now, if you count, you should have flashed 12 different items. not more, not less. if so, type fastboot reboot

11) enjoy your xnph30o. next you can simply rape the check updates button to get the 33r.

12) you're welcome.

P/S: if you got stuck while flashing, like 20 mins still not done flashing a single item, turn off the phone. then get back to fastboot mode again, then re do the flashing of the file that got stuck. it should be successful this time around.

for example in my case, it got stuck while flashing system.img. so i turn off the phone, get it back to fastboot mode, and do the fastboot flash system system.img again.

P/S 2: please connect usb only when the phone is already in fastboot mode. (thanks to Sunmk for this)
