@darkdevilrey

Yeah, it's cheaper than the pre-launch tentative price.
G AT Metallic RM33,200.

It's a 1000 cc 3 cylinders, aluminum cast engine. Hence the low torque, slower acceleration, don't use too much fuel too fast.
Also, that 21.6km/l is only achievable if you drive the MT model at top gear at constant speed of 90km/h, and maybe favourable wind direction biggrin.gif

Viva is a 660/850 cc car...

+1

the SE/AV variant front just looks plain ugly.

gonna wait n c if proton iriz will drop in price or not. the safety features in iriz looks interesting and if it is lower than 40k might as well get iriz than this. if no price drop than no choice but to get axia SE.

oh, another stupid question: is there any place to install ABS and ECS?
*
if the models have two types; ABS and non-ABS, i think it could be done but i would be very hassle to do so. you have to install the ABS module, the pipes, ECU & TCU also have to be updated/changed since those 2 control units need some input from ABS control unit like vehicle speed, wheel rotation. and need to install 4 ABS sensors at each wheel, probably need to change driveshaft as normally the ABS-driveshaft have ABS-ring on it.

As for ESC, if you want to install it on your own from scratch, it is impossible. you have to calibrate the ECU & TCU to suit with various driving condition like dry and wet, calibrate ESC and install yaw sensor and steering sensor (detect steering angle), modify wire harness to connect with ESC control unit.

Unless we have a special case like Inspira which is identical to Lancer, some Lancer/Evo outside already equipped with ESC. Hence, if the Inspira has wire harness already, what need to do is to install ESC unit together with ABS unit, install yaw sensor and update ECU.

Correct me if i'm wrong.

and how does it achieve eco fuel save until 21.6km/L ?

the engine got what special technology?

no more dvvt right ?

and by comparison it's heavier than viva by 80 kg? hmm.gif  hmm.gif  hmm.gif
*
the engine is aluminum block for weight reduction purpose.

No VVT at both intake/exhaust. K3-VE and 3SZ (Myvi & Alza) have VVT at intake.

the engine use IEM (integrated exhaust manifold). Means that 4 ports of exhaust combine to be 1 inside the cylinder head. Take out the catalytic converter pipe, only 1 port will be seen. Reason for low emission as the catalytic converter can be heated up quicker, lightweight since less parts used, small engine packaging. not sure how people going to modify the car like 4-2-1, 4-1 extractor. probably only 1 steel pipe coming out from the exhaust port. looks weird though.

Care to explain where you got the idea that 21.6 km/l achievable at "Constant speed of 90km/h"?

Does Axia aluminium engine face overheat problem? Does it have any senser to detect the heat or prevent it happen?

No. From the structure i guess there are 2 layers of firewall, inner layer towards dash and outer layer towards engine. There is a hollow space between this 2 layers, the foam is insert and filled this hollow space. Try to look at the 2nd pic, the foam is slit inside the space, not just paste at the firewall. I can confirm by try to poke and pull the foam by my finger. Same with the pic 1, the foam is extend from bottom to upper firewall and the upper foam is secured by wiper cover. So imagine it was a large piece of foam cover the whole firewall. Anyway, just my imagination.

However, just wonder what will happen if the foam absorb water? Since the foam is expose at the edge of wiper cover, during rain/car wash the water can enter that place and absorbed by foam, and by capillary action, at the end the whole foam will be soaked with water.

Perodua Axia test drive summary:
- underpowered and serious delay in throttle response, when i tekan kao kao when engine made loud noise but the speed doesnt pickup sweat.gif
- steering abit on the heavy side (a good thing) and perfect turning radius, cornering no longer feels like a sampan floating.
- i find the interior more spacious than a Myvi, and steering position (not adjustable) is perfect for ppl with height less than 170cm

air intake lubang on the right, is this normal? hmm.gif
