As the title says, I am only 21 and needing guidance from all sifus..

ok my mom will be my guarantor, and shes 52.

the reason of choosing preve is coz of my mom, she is wanting a comfortable ride (i guess everyone does just that i want her to be relax on ride), but i'm not sure of persona and saga.

Right now I've seen Preve : RM55,000 (2012, mileage 20k, 2nd hand) CVT Premium
Persona: RM52,458 (new condition in East Msia.) Manual Executive
Saga: RM44,424 (new condition in East Msia) Manual Executive
I don't prefer perodua coz too common and cute

i am a person who likes to drive fast (not the kind of people like vroom vroom type), and will carry stuffs around due to working, maybe will travel uphill once a half year. Majority city drive, sometimes a heavy footer, prefer comfort type, spacious booth steady on high speed too. icon_question.gif icon_question.gif

EDIT: Due to difference of $$$ installment, i really need you guys to recommend me better one... the wise said: a penny saved is a penny earned

Preve.
most comfortable, best handling, more toys and most powerful among the 3. esp when its the CVT premium, since it has CFE.

just my 2cents.

Be extra careful. That preve is likely the first batch, also known as a very problematic batch.

Subsequent batches in 2013 are better

Like to drive fast and comfortable don't usually combine together. Fast cars are usually not comfortable, though comfortable cars can be fast, but they cost a lot more than your budget.

If you like to drive fast then the Preve Turbo will give you that but it is above your budget. The low spec Preve may not give you the thrill and power.

You are still young at 21. Just start off with a decent car. Any of the cars above would do fine. It just depends on your budget. Preve's fuel economy is not very good compared to the other two, so if you want something that isn't too damaging on your wallet, better take the Saga, especially if you do a lot of city drive. A lot of people drive Perodua Myvi because it is quite fuel efficient. It may be common and cute, but when it comes to pumping petrol(RM500/month on Preve vs RM250/month for Myvi), that may be a factor for some or most people.

May not be neccessary true....all Campro cars sucks fuel in city drive....might as well takes Preve.

But TS, i would recommend you to WAIT for the new Proton GCC....coming next month or so. See what's the price like first....rumoured it has better FC....true or not i dunno, but i guess they must have made some improvements...

Take preve, or saga. Saga can be fun and fast too since you're listing the MT version. And is reasonably comfortable enough. Preve still better though

Persona really too old dy. Best wait for gsc first

Persona backseats not comfortable for long distance, so unless your mother sits in front, then avoid Persona. City short trips is fine though.

Preve is the most comfortable car in your list. But read about what others say about the first batch. It is true. End of 2013 onward models are improved models.

You are 21. If you start off with the Preve, you will never like to drive (or even consider buying) most sub-RM70k cars again. The driving fun and comfort is really uncomparable for a car this cheap.

how about preve and saga? im thinking of preve and saga coz, saga=$$ saver but not comfortable
preve=quality and comfort but not $$ saver. what concerns me is the durability and lifespan and so on....
coz cars are not for short term use and long term, by change another car after getting saga after few years, which you think is better?

thanks Dwango, it's just i need power more than the LMST i'm using right now.

my budget would fit Gaga comfortably, while preve will be a bit tight. what really concerns me is i'm not gonna change car within these few years... like for long term use ....

plus, budget restriction will motivate me in finding more funds hehe notworthy.gif thumbup.gif

look for the newer preve (year make).
comfort, yeah..its comfort if compare with other model in the same price and class.
FC? not good, but not that bad. By the time u may get an idea how to drive it and save fuel.

not all 1st model will give problem. So far not the engine, but the CVT..
later model already solve the CVT problem. Old model also can get the CVT fixed if got any problem.
About power window, no worries, they carry a very long warranty years.

If you come from the LMST and Proton only sells it in manual 1.3L , then the CVT Saga might not reach your expectation.

I have driven the LMST too, the car accelerates well due to light weight and the short gear ratio, reach 100km/h already, car feels slow due to low HP .

Turbo Preve is the opposite of your LMST. Initial acceleration is slow due to heavy body, once it hits up to speed, it will accelerates effortlessly .

Another car you might consider is the Saga 1.6 SE . I test driven this car and I feel that it accelerates faster than my Vios.

If you go for a test drive , you will find that your current LMST feels more responsive than the Saga due to new Saga use drive-by-wire system which has slight lag the moment you hit the accelerator and the car begins moving. Your LMST is using old-school carburettor which gives instant response.

How about 1st batch vios? It's better ride then 2nd gen, good FC if it's still in good condition, more stable at high speed compare 2nd gen, better NVH IMO.. Coz I use 2nd gen vios while my friend still using 1st gen vios and still running good..
Price I think rm40k -+ not sure..

those manufactured near the end of 2013 onwards are all improved versions.
Unless you buy used car, else really no need worry about this at all.

look out for maintenance also.
preve is a very costly machine to service.
CVT fluids cost more than MT fluids.
roadtax and insurance also need to take consideration.

good luck bro...

my first new car was myvi 1.3 manual...and i was wayyy over 21.

p/s: base on my experience last time, scouting for used car is easy (thru mudah.my of course !) but closing the deal was very, very difficult. most will require higher dp. some just dont layan u.so end up buying new cars. maybe its just my luck.

saga and preve i owned recently.. comfort, handling, performance, stability, preve win.. but preve fuel consumption quite back in city driving.. do expect 10l/100km.. if highway most + some city driving, can get 7.5l/100km.. but u pay what u get..

saga travel from A to B.. not so comfort, noisy.. but its good budget car with boot space.. depend on yourself..

Buy new saga la...you go through used car dealer most are very lansi one...summore since you need gurantor, i believe your document not strong enough..buy car is one thing, to maintain it is another thing...used car might give you abit headache especially when no service history...you buy saga then extra money can save for investment or buy property...always kept in mind that your car installment must not exceed 20% of your monthly gross income..

hi all CC-ians i've just had a test drive on saga and preve cfe...

seriously I would only take preve due to stability and speed wise.

but here comes the issue of getting which spec.......

Turbo or Non Turbo? Manual or auto?

dogebot.

Preve CFE more powerful compare to non-CFE, that is main thing.
Is worth the 10k extra if powerful car is what U want
