Now that we've got UM, I hope in 2015 Takara gives us what we need to recreate this scene....

It's pretty obvious when TakTom are truly serving their fans, and when they're attempting a shameless money grab...
And in Skywarp's case I believe it's the latter. For that price, at least they should be giving a bunch of new and exclusive accessories. A stand. A coin. A keychain or t-shirt... just something apart from that recycled Megatron gun |

QUOTE(VDread @ Dec 29 2014, 02:50 PM) Ah ok, I stand corrected on that one On a somewhat related note, I'd much prefer if TakTom turned those coins into keychains. At least can use and show off a bit! This post has been edited by omichael: Dec 29 2014, 02:55 PM |

Don't forget it's still quite easy to get the MP Lambor G2 version which comes with badass weapons and a ridiculous(ly cool) face sculpt

QUOTE(lord_aminkin @ Dec 29 2014, 10:16 PM) Wait, that is quite cheap even with the current rate @ 2.6 something. Is that retail or PO price? What shop and where is it located? Hoping there is still stock for him. You can also get MP22 from this Penang shop at RM509.90, free shipping:https://www.facebook.com/littlekindle |

Cannot lose solution:
Buy multiple units of Star Saber at PO price (RM450 vs RM500+ normal price). Sell all your units at *slightly* below retail price, when the masses who failed to PO on time inevitably start scrambling to get it (as evidenced in this forum itself earlier on with MP22). Your profits will cover most if not the entire cost of your own Star Saber |

QUOTE(VDread @ Dec 31 2014, 11:43 AM) This can also be done for nearly all new releases that has value. Example : MP10, MP11 and MP12 whose value skyrocketed after the first issue was sold out shortly after release. Yeah! The only risk is if the figure turns out to have unexpected manufacturing problems, and it develops a poor reputation. But for most official MP figures the track record has been pretty solid so far... at the very least they should hold their original value even if they don't go up in price. |

QUOTE(VDread @ Dec 31 2014, 12:35 PM) That I have to disagree on certain figures. MP13 Soundwave was overshadowed by its Hasbro counterpart which came with all the cassettes on offer. The Datsun / Nissan Fairlady brothers can still be seen on shelves (which is quite a pity, I love them better than the Lambo's). There are still a number of Wheeljacks as well. If you're looking at the space of a couple years, then you're right.I guess TakTom had increased it production output to match the demands for the previous releases, but couldn't garner as much buyer compared to MP10, MP11 and MP12. But if you have holding power, it's a relatively safe bet that a good percentage of out-of-production MP figures can retain their value or go up in price. Note that it's normal to see other TF lines go on sale for 50% off or more. That rarely happens with MPs (and when it does, like TRU Grimlock a few years back, they typically get snapped up fast, and the market readjusts). Of course there is also the risk of reissues, which could knock down the value of your long term investment overnight! |

QUOTE(orestes @ Dec 31 2014, 01:38 PM) dont be selfish .. Don't jump to conclusions. i like everything can be easy to get .. especially when they all at retail pricing .. so what if the items cant sell well .. more for everybody .. the only group of ppl who love when items become short in stocks and hard to get are scalpers There are multiple ways to enjoy this hobby. For me personally I've started 'investing' in a couple extra pieces of figures I believe might have a good value in future. I'm not a scalper - I just enjoy following the movements of the market. If doing so can help subsidize a portion of my TF costs, then that's a bonus. |

QUOTE(ravemaster @ Dec 31 2014, 03:06 PM) ops, i already jump to conclusion Hehe I get your point bro. If you're greedily buying everything off the shelf to force other collectors to buy from you... then you're a scumbag scalper. But if you're just buying an extra unit here and there, for cheap thrills to see if it becomes worth more money a few years from now... I dunno actually. Maybe that still makes you a future scalper? Personally I don't mind buying or selling older & harder to find figures at reasonably higher prices. Seems fair to me, just part of the game. Yeah very nice.
I'm hoping unusual figures like Infinitor help inspire some new aesthetic directions for transformers. Personally not enjoying the curvier + organic + humanoid look of the newer stuff... like the Robots in Disguise cartoon and Bayformers... Reminds me of Korean cars actually. The curves look sexy at first, but get old really fast. |

MP Bumblebee with exosuit Spike was already overpriced.
Now that same figure, for the same price, but without Spike? Easy pass! |

LOL.
Hasbro Prowl with oversized box = RM450 (or RM360 "discounted" price) Meanwhile, TakTom Prowl with normal box = RM190 I don't know who to blame more... the marketers who decided on that price, or the people who paid for it |

Sigh TFs are so cheap here. For example Voyager Roadbuster in Target is USD25. And it's buy any TF, get another at 50% off. |
