QUOTE(tnsai @ Dec 1 2014, 03:36 PM) The chest shield on the torso looks like a bikini :/... I read that the colors on the torso aren't done though, so maybe with proper colors it'll look more blended in... but I don't think I can unsee the bikini/tube top.. Also, looks like with Vortex, the arms just hang there. Haha oh man why you must mention the hanging arms and bikini... now I can't unsee it also :/They should have done it like Quantron's strafe where at least they tried to keep the hands in the osition via it holding on to something etc. Blast-off we already know how it just sort of opens up and hangs there and now vortex is just pointing the hands up.. Overall still looks great to me though. I appreciate the level of molded detail and the dimensions. He really feels like Bruticus. |

Once you go third party, it's hard to go back.
The only official TFs that I still enjoy are Masterpieces. Pretty much everything else feels like it's made for kids (because it is). |

QUOTE(ravemaster @ Dec 5 2014, 10:08 AM) I dont think getting all seekers are that important esp the minor characters like sunstorm and acid storm. The reason i got em is because they are both below rm280 mark each and really compliment each other well. The new mp11sw is another must have figure to update skywarp mold..only problem is its high po/retail price which come around rm500-600 range RM500 - 600 for that Skywarp asia exclusive reissue is a huge turnoff. How can they justify pricing it higher than even MP10? HasTak's pricing sometimes makes zero sense. Like that TRU MP Prowl that was what, RM400+ before discount? LOL |

QUOTE(tnsai @ Dec 5 2014, 10:37 AM) Being an Asian exclusive that is not even released in Japan, means a smaller production run. Smaller production run = higher costs etc etc. I mean as much as I like getting Skywarp (and I already ordered one). You have to see Skywarp to be simply not as popular a character as Optimus Prime. Some people might buy Starscream and feel they don't want to buy a recolor of a mold the already have.. etc etc.. so it's likely that Skywarp might just be manufactured less. Yup that could be the case. Still doesn't make sense from a marketing perspective though: a popular character selling for less than a second tier character. This is me being devil's advocate however.. I woulf of course liek the price to be cheaper T_T |

QUOTE(ckchan @ Dec 5 2014, 11:37 AM) actually is it not so nice to discuss too much about buying/selling KO stuff here... i mean KO are direct copy of the original with the brand name and stuff... i consider these as pirated stuff and such illegal. i mean it's still good to let others know the difference between ori and KO. but discuss about buying/selling is another story... just my 2 cents KO figures on the other hand... are a ripoff of both intellectual property AND physical engineering. It's not good for the industry and shouldn't be supported. |

QUOTE(advocado @ Dec 5 2014, 02:25 PM) Unlicensed product is as illegal as bootlegs. If it's for fanservice it might be ok, but for profiting out of it, well... What is your objective as a TF collector? For me I want to see better engineering, better representations of my favorite characters, and more choices. This is why I personally don't mind third party: they are still innovating to give us better products. And they are also keeping HasTak on their toes. Their only sin is they're using TF nostalgia to sell us their designs. That is unfortunate, but it's also unavoidable - how many fans would support third party figures if they were all unknown characters? Also, the primary markets for third party and official toys is different. High end third party figures are mostly for adult collectors. Whereas the majority of official TF (apart from Masterpiece) are mostly for kids. This is probably why HasTak isn't suing third party companies. Because they're not THAT much of a threat to their core business (and because doing so would piss off many adult collectors). |

Haha so in conclusion...
Original intellectual property + original mold (HasTak) = morally correct Stolen intellectual property + original mold (3rd Party) = questionable but defendable Stolen intellectual property + stolen mold (KO) = NO NO |

QUOTE(hocksoo @ Dec 6 2014, 09:29 PM) Not sure why you guys debating on this topic... I am just a transformers fan who's hobby is to buy transformers toys... whether it is official/ko/3rd party... as long you enjoy it then that's fine enough. How you spend your money dictates how the TF industry evolves.Bside, why care so much who own the transformers license... that is business world thing, let the business people handle them. We are just fan, do what a fan do, just buy toys! Spend on KO, there will be more KO. Spend on good engineering, there will be more good engineering. If you are a fan, that sounds like something you should care about. |

QUOTE(nicholas1007 @ Dec 15 2014, 07:42 PM) Tat is the solution of yellowish. I was hoping for prevention of yellowish happening. Currently i m starting to slowly store my tf into cabinet as below in the photo. The cabinet is located no nearer to direct sunlight n i will put charcoal in a box (bot at daiso) in there to control humidity inside the cabinet. Wat more can i do to protect them from turning yellowish in the future. If you read that article I posted, and if you Google the subject, humidity doesn't appear to even be a factor. [attachmentid=4260613] So I don't know if charcoal will be of any use. The main culprits seem to be sunlight, UV light and a chemical reaction in certain batches of plastic. Nothing much we can do to stop the chemical reaction over time. But I assume keeping them in that cupboard should at least help keep out the light. Anyways in my opinion there's no point overthinking it. They're just plastic toys. They will decay over time. Enjoy them while they last |

Shade of blue seems a bit funny.
Frame is a lil chunky. Character was never very likeable. Fake wheels on feet look weird. BUT STILL... must buy. ![]() |

Infinitor has a very interesting creative direction.
Most G1 homage toys - including HasTak's own MP line - try to capture the humanoid aesthetic of the characters from the cartoon series. But Infinitor looks more like an updated version of the blocky G1 toy itself. Looks very ROBOT. |
