My S3mini 1500mha charged even faster than S3, but also drained faster lah...kakaka
*
Well, what I'm trying to say is that whether a phone gets charged up faster or not, isn't model dependant. Factors such as charger max output / phone max input and battery capacity has to be considered.

And if you check the link here: QuickCharge 2.0 has arrived, the XiaoMi 3 is actually listed as a certified QuickCharge 2.0 device

I'm not sure if the original charger that came with the Malaysian pack is a certified QuickCharge charger or not though since I'm in the office right now.

Interesting! The Xiaomi MDY-3-EB is listed... but what is it? It's not the PB...

Also, does that mean unless we use Quickcharge 2.0, which is very fast (9V and 2A!) it will be limited to something that may be less than 5V/2A? Let me try with my PB (2A output)... will report the findings soon.
*
Yeap, its the certified QuickCharge charger model by Xiaomi. so if we can get that or any of the listed chargers, we are able to charge our phone faster.

One more tip on charging your device faster is to switch on Airplane mode, but the downside is, you can't receive calls or SMS.

how to get back from dev rom to stable rom?
*
Easiest way is flash your phone with fastboot ROM using MiFlash.

Here's a link: http://en.miui.com/thread-36351-1-1.html

QUOTE(azri5678 @ Aug 29 2014, 03:29 PM)
hi i am using malaysian stable rom v23.0, while reading manga online my mi3 rebooted and it stuck on bootloop.
after some time, it managed to reach homescreen but some apps are missing including all google apps, browser, updater, mi readme.
reports that say google play services, google location services stop working also appeared every time it managed to reach homescreen. then the screen froze again before it once again rebooted and stuck in bootloop.

i've tried flashing the stable rom using fastboot method but failed to fix this problem. i tried with the lastest dev rom also failed..

really in need of help here. please help me
*
Did you make sure flash_all.bat was selected in the advanced menu when you do fastboot flashing? If still no solution I'm afraid you have to send it back for service already.

but the only .bat file in the fastboot rom I downloaded is flash_all_except_data_storage.bat

do I need to rename it as well? thanks
*
That's strange. Which version did you downloaded?

No, you don't have to rename it.

tho maybe just me..the miuiv6 does have better in call quality?
*
If you come from v14 you'll definitely know the difference. I've been experiencing sudden volume change in the v14, later than that, call quality is pretty ok. Just hate the whatsapp voice message quality though.

Bring back the phone to your so called Lowyat shop and return the phone. Tell them it's fake! Why would you want to buy another one? Report police! Don't let these unethical sellers get away with it.

Actually there's no need to tell others we're cheapskates, is there? biggrin.gif Can just say "I wanted something that is a bit more special, and nicer to use than a Samsung".
*
You can't control what people think la.. I usually tell my friends the same way also when they ask what phone am I holding or what so special about Xiaomi? I'd usually say to them that this Xiaomi is faster than a Note 3, but cheaper by a few times.

Now the trend got this USB and micro USB together pen drive.
I find it useful to store my important stuff in my pendrive. If need to view or whatapps to others, I just plug in the pendrive to the phone and straight job done.
*
It's called USB OTG pen drive I believe.

Nowadays buy IT stuff very dangerous dy. laugh.gif

Must really research kao kao then only decide. And also must check on the spot, scan qr code or use app to check whether it is ori. sweat.gif Cannot fully 100% believe the salesperson dy. They just wanna earn $$. Might even swap our ori unit with fake unit and sell it as ori unit price. doh.gif

Luckily I inherited yim jim-ness from my dad, buy stuff sure check kao kao until i pay or leave the store. laugh.gif
*
I always make sure I buy my stuffs from official stores or web only. Heck even reputable premium Apple resellers like Technocrats in Sabah also sell fake casing before. I never buy cases from them again.

QUOTE(H3LLKEEPER @ Sep 6 2014, 11:51 PM)
want to ask mi3 users
is the memory fully or near 16gb or is it same as other android device where it allocate some memory for the OS?
*
I wonder if there's even a phone that has a full or near 16GB? Anyways, its about 12.1GB free with fresh install.

The MIUI is one of the heaviest modified user interface version of Android, can't expect it to come light in storage.

Is it worth upgrading from v14? I'm still reluctant to change to anything apart from v14

By the way they still have this directory thing at the phone app? I hated that thing.

update to v23 at least, it's better and more better friendly

I hated that bug where you can't delete the google apps and it comes back all the time.

Plus, GPS locking is much slower than on v14

Hey guys..new user here..wanna ask,what bugs are in v14?
*
Not many to pinpoint, but I do get FC at times. But it's by far the ROM that gave me the least problem. I haven't expirment on the AOSP & the newer MIUI v6 Developer ROM though...

stick to v14 stable and wait for miui6, if you don't mind the +60 missing bug, by all means update to v23, its a good stable rom other than at weird bug.
by the way, mine is fine running v23. i just edit all my contacts with +60. no problem ^^
*
I enabled add country code in the phone dialer > location. It works. But the thing is, once you click inside, the number still shows 168343333 for example. Still v14 the best la. But lazy wanna flash back again.

Will flash a full ROM once miui v6 arrives. My advise is stick to v14 whenever you can.

Beware that most of the Xiaomi Mi3 cases on the market right now is not compatible with the Malaysian version of the Mi3 where the mic cut-out on top is positioned differently.

Be sure to check the top mic cutout before making your purchase.
