He still needs a lot to prove.

I don't think so. I remember one test session at Jerez where 3 rookies, Hamilton, Piquet JR and Kovalainen took the top three spot for every day the session was held, eclipsing many top drivers.

Mika is rejoining in a technical role, good to hear. And one thing that for certain is no other team in F1 right now shields their driver from everything, and I mean everything. I just hope Kimi can cope without this protection at Ferrari. Image was everything at Macca and Ferrari expects you to do that yourself.
In other words, Alonso should be well suited for Macca IMO

That's the point. Ppl said that if it was not for McLaren, that issue would have been bigger. they managed to cover that up very quickly indeed

that's actually a common practice. Niki lauda who was a Ferrari driver used to hang around the McLaren garage during his driving days as his best mate was James hunt, the McLaren driver. Hunt uses this to trick Lauda in Fuji tho tongue.gif, making him and the Ferrari team think that they need to buy a mesh grille for the race.
Now it's hareder to see but usually after races drivers like Button, Rubens and DC tend to flock together. Those are not the ones that the medias are after as these kinds of drivers are wary to the surroundings and media. They also look out for each other. Kimi tends to keep to himself, and has a quite a history of hard drinking, and Macca kept that from leaking out to the public as they don't want to harm his image. But there were some incidents where paparazzi manages to take Kimi's drunken picture in a strip club

IMO, he'll be the test driver for McLaren. Maybe the failure to convince Kimi to stay with Macca is still haunting him

lol, in the USA last season?
That's why I prefer to support the team than the driver, as driver changes are a common practice in F1.

hahaha

After reading various predictions, it's fun to see who sees who can win

Kimi - Himself
Massa -Himself
Kovalainen - Kimi
Fisichella - Himself
Alonso - Kimi or Kovalainen, but still think he can scrape through
Hamilton - Not saying
Button - Definately not himself
Heidfeld - same as Button

Mika already said he will only give feedback, and not driving himself. It's not because of the team really, it's just that he still feels that ron is a father to him, and he needs to help the team

Hmm, considering next season we have a 2 time world champ and a much touted driver that everyone has high hope since he was 10, I feel that it very much is good time for McLaren

Lol. I think he will be out'finn'ed by KOvalainen. Even this season it was seems he was on course to challenge Alonso with the win at Malaysia, but not so

Really ka?
4 is not that much IMO

Brit - 4, Button, Hamilton, Coulthard, Davidson
Aussie - 1, Webbo
German - 2, Schumacher, Heidfeld
Finn - 2, Kovalainen, Raikkonen
Spain - 1, Fernando
Brazil - 2, Rubens, Massa
Italian - 2, Fisichella, Trulli

In other news
Fernando Alonso has made his Mclaren debut after Renault acceded to the double world champion's request to test for his new team on the final day of testing this year at Jerez, Spain.

Alonso defected from Renault to McLaren at the end of the season but had not been expected to officially drive for his new employers this year.

The special dispensation is a goodwill gesture and a show of appreciation by Renault and team boss Flavio Briatore for Alonso's contribution to the French outfit's success over the past two years.

"Fernando asked me to test one day with his new team to acclimatize himself to the car," confirmed Briatore in a statement issued by Renault.

"We enjoy a very good relationship and considering his work and his fabulous achievements these past two years with the double world titles in 2005 and 2006, we decided to give him this opportunity."

Alonso, whose contract with Renault was only due to expire on December 31, revealed: "I have a strong relationship with the Renault F1 Team and I would like to thank Flavio and Renault to have agreed to my request to test one day with my new team."

Meh, produce is an understatement.
anyways, Germany is 3. I forgot to add Nico Rosberg

Edited Driver According To Country
Brit - 4, Button, Hamilton, Coulthard, Davidson
Aussie - 1, Webbo
German - 3, Schumacher, Heidfeld, Rosberg
Finn - 2, Kovalainen, Raikkonen
Spain - 1, Fernando
Brazil - 2, Rubens, Massa
Italian - 3, Fisichella, Trulli, Luizzi
Poland - 1, Kubicka
Austria - 1, Wurz
Japan - 1, Sato
Holland - 1, Albers

Now, considering that last season there was no Hamilton and Davidson, there was only 2 brits, and 4 Germans as Schumacher SNr was still driving. But I did not see prejudice on the germans last season.
