1. Is Nokia 1520 running officially on Windows 8.1? Asking this because I want a windows phone/tablet but not sure if it can run flash files from my laptop. Attached is the screenshot of the files.

In my laptop, I just click on player.exe and it runs and kinda unpack the rest of the files.
*
First of all, Windows 8.1 and Windows Phone 8.1 are two different things. Windows Phone 8.1 cannot run exe files like Windows 8.1 you have on your laptop. In order to run apps in Windows Phone 8.1, you do the same thing as you do on Android, you download the app from the store.

QUOTE(yoyoan @ Nov 14 2014, 07:49 PM)
2. In windows phone, can we run say for example CCleaner like we do in laptops? (example)
Would appreciate your inputs and thanks a lot!!
*
As I said, you can't run your normal Windows program on a Windows Phone 8.1. So the answer is no, there is no CCleaner in Windows Phone 8.1.

Same here!!!  thumbup.gif  thumbup.gif  rclxms.gif

But I'm worried if the current apps like Waze, Whatsapp, etc are compatible with Win10
*
Apps will be compatible but they will need to update to take full advantages of Windows 10 capabilities.
Like Microsoft said, if developers want less effort to update their apps for windows 10, the best way is to build universal apps now. I bet windows 10 will be all about universal apps, since they ady unify all OS into one. If developer want to build apps for windows 10, they will be too stupid to not build universal app. As a developer I can say Microsoft got this right in every way. Building apps for windows 10 means you are targeting billions of windows users and also across different screen sizes, the audience is much more bigger than Android and iOS. Now Microsoft just need to offer more tools & incentives. Developers will definitely jump into their ecosystem.

Btw, waze will be compatible but it wont get update, thanks to the evil Google. When Windows 10 come, we hope Google will change their attitude. They can't afford to ignore billions of windows user.

anyone notice the newest preview build 14203.306 improve performance a lot?

on my 920 & 520, no more blank tiles, no more lag when go back to start screen and whatsapp don't even need to do "resuming"
battery life also improved, tethering 4g from my 920, battery last 6 hours and more

this is the most stable preview build ever. maybe it's a sign of lumia denim coming real soon as they finalise everything.

i noticed whatsapp consumed more data after this new update.. usually i only use 3-4mb for whatsapp per day but now i already used 10mb for only 12 hours.. i know it might not be a big deal for someone who got unlimited data plan but for me it kinda cost a bit...

Hi guys, I have been planning on buying a used lumia 920/925 for the sake of PureView and trying new Os experiences, the WP8.1..
I'm a long time android user..

I have a few questions I hope u guys can help me..

In WP8.1, will I be able to download file/movie/mp3 from any direct link in any file sharing website? For example from billionupload, zippyshare, 4shared, uptobox and etc??
Because I used iphone once and I am not able to do so..
Let say we are able to do it, all these downloaded files/mp3/movie can be accessed later from my PC if I connect it to my phone through USB? Can i copy all these files to my PC later like I usually did with android?

Due to limited internt in my home, i always spend my time downloading big file form wifi mamak/mcd etc then later transfer it to my pc.. So I am wondering do WP has this feature..

YES, you may need a phone with SD card support, 920 only have 32gb.

Yup you can do so. You can even download fb video.

If you open the link, your phone will notify you if you want to [OPEN] or [DOWNLOAD] the video.
