by the way, with kitkat everytime i jack my earphone in there will be earphone icon show up on the notification panel. But on my lolipop there is no icon. its just me?

This is my steps..

1. Download firmware from below link and select which ever country you want

2. Download ODIN 3.07, 3.08 or 3.09 also ok

3. Install Kies or USB driver for S4

4. Enable debug mode - Go to Settings>> Developer Options and enable the USB Debugging option

5. If you have antivirus try to disable it first, sometimes it's interrupt

6. Launch ODIN and plug in your phone, the ID: COM box in Odin will turn light blue with COM port number, usually recognizes files with the .tar / .tar.md5

7. Place your firmware into AP

8. Press Start and your update will run

9. Sit down and wait for it to finish this may take 10 to 20 minutes.

LASTLY! REMEMBER TO DO A BACKUP....

What i can conclude is either your cable or USB port problem, i guess your phone without warranty and even with you will not able to claim it cause origin place too far.

There is another way is root it, install mobile odin and flash from your phone

my port prob? but i can copy n paste to pc music pic and files, plus the com port turn blue...

You tried OTA?

1. Forgot to ask, your windows version is WinXp, Win7, Win8 or Win10?

2. I assume you in set your phone in recovery mode before flashing, right?

backup everything, flash everything using odin, download the whole rom once again.
