Hi Guys, couldn't resist it already and finally got the Galaxy S4 Black Edition which is supposed to be limited to replace my S4 Mini. Love the all black colour and trims as well as the wallpapers and the Leather back cover. However, I do have one dissapointment. Being the latest and last edition to the S4 family, the Black Edition actually came in I9500 which comes with Exynos 5 Octa 5410 CPU. My only qualms is that it only supports 3G and no LTE.

4.4.3 is slowling trickling out for the S5. IMO it will be at least another month till the S4 receives the update.

QUOTE(wajahebat @ Sep 8 2014, 06:36 PM) As usual. Its because there's too much samsung bloatware's to be cook'ed again to fit Android L (4.4.4). Thats what delays them in releasing 4.4.4 firmware. +1Sony firmware? As light as it can get. I love them UI's and such. I really dislike the lagginess of the S4 and the S5 as well. But alas, I like the black edition. My previous S4 mini was quite good smooth though, even on 4.2.2. |

Coz not on the backcover is faux leather, the front bezel is all black and the side chrome lining are dark titanium. |

QUOTE(fkinmeng @ Sep 10 2014, 08:41 AM) i rooted and uninstall all those junk apps, still feel slight lag, and battery didn't improve as well. Cant expect huge improvements. The major problem is Samsung's Touchwiz which slows the phone down. Only option would be to root the 'sucker'. weird... This post has been edited by TOMEI-R: Sep 10 2014, 10:22 AM |

QUOTE(Dannyl @ Sep 13 2014, 12:22 PM) How do you know it won't introduce new bugs and issues? There are always bugs and issues with every phones. Thats why phone manufacturers need to constantly update your phone. If a bug and issue free phone is needed, I would recommend the Nokia 3310. Saw some posts here about bad battery drains, bla bla bla with the JB update last time. What's the rush to update? If I don't find serious issues with my phone, I don't usually update. I was on stock 4.2.2 and then jumped to custom 4.4.2. Didn't feel like I missed anything in-between. |

QUOTE(Dannyl @ Sep 13 2014, 12:54 PM) I know. But, how do you know by fixing some small issues, it does not introduce some big issues? All I'm saying is: what's the rush? Unless the user is so anal about version and build numbers that he's the kind who cannot resist tapping the Update button in Play Store even though everything works fine. Sometimes I prefer the simple life during 3310. No bugs no updating. Just insert sim and charged it and its on. BTW, 3310 is overrated. 6510 is much better, high resolution, EDGE, blue fading backlight, interchangeable housing with 8310. |

QUOTE(nokia6280 @ Sep 22 2014, 08:50 AM) At this moment the only drawback that may stop S4 getting Android L is either Samsung delivery speed and RAM, so far Android base FW are more Memory friendly and the only drawback is SAMSUNG speed... 4.4.4 also take so long S4 may be the last update or 4.4.4 the last one... Thats what I dislike about Samsung phones. Slow updates. By the way, 4.4.4 is on the way. So we just have to be patient abit more. Hope it solves most of the bugs and issues like battery drain. 4.4.4 for S4 |

Samsung sucks in updating their devices. They are more interested in coming up with new and similar devices hoping Samsung Fags will buy their products like I-Zombies do.
