Hi Guys, couldn't resist it already and finally got the Galaxy S4 Black Edition which is supposed to be limited to replace my S4 Mini. Love the all black colour and trims as well as the wallpapers and the Leather back cover. However, I do have one dissapointment. Being the latest and last edition to the S4 family, the Black Edition actually came in I9500 which comes with Exynos 5 Octa 5410 CPU. My only qualms is that it only supports 3G and no LTE. What an utter dissapointment for me. I chose to buy an SME set because of warranty reasons and now I feel cheated as I should have got the LTE version which is supposed to be the I9505. Heard AP sets are all I9505. Anyway, my mistake for not checking properly when I bought it.

4.4.3 is slowling trickling out for the S5. IMO it will be at least another month till the S4 receives the update.

Isit? Any SOS to back that? If yes Im happy. Im not too happy with the 4.4.2 upgrade. Makes the S4 laggy.

I know we will get it but when? My wife's S5 is still on 4.4.2 and thats the flagship phone for Samsung right now besides Note 4. My Xperia Z1 Compact received 4.4.4 few months ago already.

I really dislike the lagginess of the S4 and the S5 as well. But alas, I like the black edition.

My previous S4 mini was quite good smooth though, even on 4.2.2.

Could you name some of the bloatware disabled? Or you rooted ?

Why not opt to uninstall them then?

You have to get the S4 Black Edition S4 like mine then. Coz not on the backcover is faux leather, the front bezel is all black and the side chrome lining are dark titanium.

Cant expect huge improvements. The major problem is Samsung's Touchwiz which slows the phone down. Only option would be to root the 'sucker'. But then again, if you dont wanna use Samsung's Touchwiz, why buy a Samsung at all?

As long as it makes the phone less laggy and ultimately less buggy, then its good enough. Its a minor update only if 90mb.

Want or dont want, you would need to install it as the latest updates will address the currents issues and bugs with the phone.

There are always bugs and issues with every phones. Thats why phone manufacturers need to constantly update your phone. If a bug and issue free phone is needed, I would recommend the Nokia 3310.

Sometimes I prefer the simple life during 3310. No bugs no updating. Just insert sim and charged it and its on.

So so so far away bro. S5 also havent got it yet.

Would the S4 be geting this too?

Thats what I dislike about Samsung phones. Slow updates.


By the way, 4.4.4 is on the way. So we just have to be patient abit more. Hope it solves most of the bugs and issues like battery drain.

Samsung sucks in updating their devices. They are more interested in coming up with new and similar devices hoping Samsung Fags will buy their products like I-Zombies do.
