I think I found out who Magna is. They are from United Oils who distribute Repsol amongst other brands.

i was wondering off the shelf lubricants like caltex's, would it be better than honda recommended lubricants?

@Outpace : I think that's normal for an engine that wasn't flushed. Shows the oil is doing its work and as long as you don't feel any performance loss, it should be fine. You want the oil to be clean longer flush the engine a few times until the output is clear, then only fill your own oil.

Also, a lot depends on your environment. Dusty roads, sandy roads, haze, etc all will contribute to dirty oil to some extent.

Since my 13 year old vios work horse has 215k km in it, was thinking of doing a good cleanup.

My question, if I pour in engine oil that is diesel specific, will it cause problems? My thinking was that the additional detergents in it could really help the cleanup.

This brand seems to lack data and documents to support their claims. Decided to give it a try (10w35)
And so far others have been claiming that its an oem from idemitsu. No api or whatsoever.

Day 1 on it and engine temp seems to be lower than b4.
Have not decided if i would utilise this till my next change, might just drain it and revert to the idemitsu im comfortable with.

Any inputs? Since there is no certs or data, asking input from sheer user expereience. Thanks

Aren't most oils of up to 50% are recycled oil? At least that is what i read.

Personally thinks that recycled oil if process stringently, may be as good as new with the technology up to date in refining.
My concern is on the HKS oil if it is a quality oil that protects, lubricates and cools engine down and not forgetting, not so prone to causing gunks.

For my old vios which is showing some signs of engine oil consumption, does that mean that I need to change to thicker viscosity oil or is it time to change the piston rings?
