QUOTE(Quazacolt @ Jul 28 2015, 12:21 PM) i'm surprised they actually have API certs but no marketing whatsoever, or at least, i dont think i've heard of this nor was i able to find their website yes, the marketing is like non existence, got this from my friend, they are distributing it. price wise is much lower than those known brand. Some of my friends tried and and gave it a thumbs up! |

QUOTE(izso @ Jul 29 2015, 07:26 AM) Good things are meant to be shared. Share the price and source please. I wouldn't mind some cheap API certified oil hahaha.. and share i will, its in my engine now, as for smoothness, i feel it is the same as Eneos or Castrol, but loses out to Mobil, quietness, it is better than all what i had used before. BTW i am using 10w 40. Liking it. |

my take is EO is on personal preference, some like it "thin", other like it "thick", all have their pros and cons depending on certain condition, as long as it is not recycled oil, it should work fine, just my 2 cents.

QUOTE(izso @ Aug 28 2015, 08:08 AM) @Outpace : I think that's normal for an engine that wasn't flushed. Shows the oil is doing its work and as long as you don't feel any performance loss, it should be fine. You want the oil to be clean longer flush the engine a few times until the output is clear, then only fill your own oil. that's why i prefer mineral oil with shorter oil change interval. Also, a lot depends on your environment. Dusty roads, sandy roads, haze, etc all will contribute to dirty oil to some extent. |

QUOTE(wkc5657 @ Sep 10 2015, 11:48 PM) Since my 13 year old vios work horse has 215k km in it, was thinking of doing a good cleanup. why not just go for an engine flush instead? i am about to try out this Marvel Mystery Oil in my EO, it also should be able to clean or flush my 180k km engine. My question, if I pour in engine oil that is diesel specific, will it cause problems? My thinking was that the additional detergents in it could really help the cleanup. |

QUOTE(douglas_tong @ Sep 20 2015, 12:39 AM) Was wondering if anyone tried hks super racing oil? careful, heard there are some recycled oil in HKS packing. This brand seems to lack data and documents to support their claims. Decided to give it a try (10w35) And so far others have been claiming that its an oem from idemitsu. No api or whatsoever. Day 1 on it and engine temp seems to be lower than b4. Have not decided if i would utilise this till my next change, might just drain it and revert to the idemitsu im comfortable with. Any inputs? Since there is no certs or data, asking input from sheer user expereience. Thanks |

QUOTE(douglas_tong @ Sep 21 2015, 10:41 AM) Aren't most oils of up to 50% are recycled oil? At least that is what i read. yes if the oil are recycled in a proper manner, it is safe, but here we have people who collect used "branded" oil bottles and cans to repack the recycked oil, which is fake oil. i know coz many workshop do sell those used bottles for 50 cents to 1.00 ringgit depending on the brands, just check your EO weekly or daily, i was told you will feel the effect around 1k km or so. and yes i am into the lube industry carrying this Magna lube."In Europe, about 50 percent of motor oil is re-refined, thanks to regulations dating to 1975 that were revised in 2008, say analysts at Kline & Company, a market research firm based in Parsippany, New Jersey. In North America, only about 10 to 15 percent of motor oil is re-refined." Source Personally thinks that recycled oil if process stringently, may be as good as new with the technology up to date in refining. My concern is on the HKS oil if it is a quality oil that protects, lubricates and cools engine down and not forgetting, not so prone to causing gunks. You sell oil btw? haha, thanks for the headups, good if you can provide more details on this, I'm contemplating to switch it out, but year end finance a bit heavy. >.< |

QUOTE(wkc5657 @ Oct 5 2015, 03:58 PM) One more question. Might be your PCV valve clogged, check that first, its cheap to replace also. For my old vios which is showing some signs of engine oil consumption, does that mean that I need to change to thicker viscosity oil or is it time to change the piston rings? |
