Hi all, I am a suzuki swift owner (manufactured in 2013), current: mileage 60k. All the while I sent my car back to suzuki centre to do the service due to it's under warranty. But due to the expensive charges (a simple minor service costs rm400) and the fully sync EO (rm210 they charge) they used is actually just Petronas brand, so I plan to buy the EO at spare parts shop and get it change at workshop outside. I have gone through some researches, having difficulties to choose between Total Quartz 9000 SN Future 5w30 and Mobil1 0w40, your suggestion please? My selection criteria: My work requires frequent travel, 2.5 months can travel 10k km. That's why I choose a fully sync EO, so that I do not need to change it that frequently. Understand that the said EO might be more expensive than common EO, but I am willing to pay slightly more to get good quality (perhaps better protection + better fuel consumption) EO for my car. Thanks.

QUOTE(izso @ Aug 10 2015, 08:31 AM) Erm.. no. If the oil says 10W50 that means it's 50 viscosity at 100 deg Celsius. It'll never go "down" to 30. Once a 50, always a 50. And that's a cheap mineral 50. It's not a suitable oil for the Myvi regardless! Unless he's turbo charged, then maybe. The manufacturer uses 5W30, stick with 5W30 la. 0W30 / 5W30 / 10W30 all is fine. I personally wouldn't use Total and personally I think Petronas oils are quite good. Just over priced like Mobil 1. QUOTE(LittleBear @ Aug 8 2015, 08:11 AM) Stick with the 5W30 FS oil from Total.. Your car is still new so I don't think your car needs the Mobil 0W40. Suzuki recommends to use 5W30 weight oil so it's better to stick to it. Thanks Izso and LittleBear for your replies. Yea, just got my engine oil change today. I use the Total 9000 Fully sync 5w30. Will monitor the performance
