I tried out FF XIV yesterday and yes I enjoyed it, even though there's so much limitation on free trial account. Sorry that I don't know how to put in words of my first impression on FFXIV.

And I wonder those who on free trial can be recruited by regular player with Recruit a Friend campaign. If so, anybody, feel free to recruit me.

For those who also on the free trial, feel free to post your impression on FFXIV.

First impression, very detail and a lot of options for character creation.

I like that of mmorpg, it makes each character that much more unique and personalized.

However unable to review further as still unable to get myself into Tonberry.

Hi there, I am also a new player who get attracted by the free trial.

First impression, the game provided marvelous graphic and made me enjoyed a lot to play it on my LED TV! Battle system wasn't that boring as what I expected it to be, overall a very good impression after the 2 days trial rclxms.gif rclxms.gif

A quick question, if I would like to continue to play after the free trial, am I required to purchase the digital copy of the game again (which will cause $29.99), or I can directly go ahead to monthly subscription?

Thank!

Unfortunately, yes. From the free trial, we need to buy the digital copy to transfer to regular service. This can be done in the FFXIV Mog Station and it will ask for the code entry of FFXIV.

As for me, I'm still thinking to buy it or not. The monthly price is just too expansive for me.

It is so sad to hear it. sad.gif
I believe the digital copy itself did come with 1 month subscription right?
(But even so, there is still extra 15 bucks for the game itself. Just wonder why they make it this way for a digital copy when the game itself is already a monthly subscription sad.gif sad.gif )

Oh ya another question, the account subscription must be always renew in order to retain our account? Can I stop for few months in between and then continue to subscript again? Will the account lose once the subscription stopped?

yes you can stop anytime and comeback anytime afterwards.

the monthly price is 12.99/mo and the more u subscribe the more you save, max is 180 days (6 months?) and you can save i think up to even 1 month i think from that price.

the pricing is ofcoz for the content for the initial launch, subsequence monthly price are actually cheaper compare to last time, 12.99/mo. you only need 1 single character to play/test the game anyway.

Hi, thank a lot for the reply!! smile.gif

I saw there is two membership type with different pricing, which is Entry (1 char per world) at 12.99/month, and Standard at 14.99/month (not mentioning the offer for longer subscription now). Are they exchangeable? Can I top up for Entry package for 12.99, then on the following upgrade to Standard at 14.99, then change back to Entry package again?

I also checked the Collector Edition at their website, seem like after purchasing the collector edition @ 49.99, we still need to have a digital upgrade for it @ 19.99?

Thank for your help again thumbup.gif thumbup.gif

haha this question should totally be in the newbie handbook doh.gif

regarding the Entry and Standard, is changable, in a case you from Standard to Entry, is still possible, but let say if you have 2 characters in one world, it will ask you which characters to be active/inactive.

as for Collector Edition, is better to digital upgrade it instead of buying the collector edition.

because you already have the standard edition, it wont allow you to add the collector edition as the code is 2 in 1 for the collector edition (The CE code is 2 in 1, the bonus and the account code are same)

haha sorry sorry, I read it only after I posted the reply above >.<

still not really understand what you mean by "is better to digital upgrade it instead of buying the collector edition."??

From the sites I though we need to buy the collector edition, then do another purchase to digitally update the CE? Or you mean for now it is more worthy to directly go for the digital version instead of CE?

Is FFXIV available in steam? I can't see it in the store, or I need NA/EU steam for this?
Sad again to hear the special offer is overed cry.gif cry.gif

I went through the newbie handbook and discovered people recommended to have a EU account instead of NA one. Is it simply because of the easement to do the subscription (we can directly use our CC/DC there?)?

So if I am able to find a easy way to do the subscription for both NA and EU, they are basically the same already right? Currency wise, I think EU price will be higher than NA ba...

Uhmmm.. no if you bought collector edition from the get go, already enough.. but if you bought Standard Edition first... then use the mogstation to upgrade to Collector Edition.

If you buy Standard Edition (Box or Digital) -> Only option is to upgrade via MogStation Digital Collector Edition.
If you havent bought anything, choose any of the choice you want, Standard Edition (Box or Digital) or Collector Edition (Box or Digital).

understand what i meant now?

if NA may need to try using international bank's such as heong leong, al rahji, etc.

And yes, i think i already say specificly that EU price are higher than NA, but is totally up to you.

Hi, I tried out the Free Trial as well.

Level to Lv20 in Kujata server (wanted to join Tonberry but was restricted) using a JP square enix account only to find out I will have problem making payment with overseas credit card for subscription to continue sad.gif

So I recreated another EU account as recommended in this forum and now looking for EU digital copy of the game and is faced with another problem of buying straight from EU official website for reason I'm not in the UK, country I've chosen. The digital copy price is only GBP19.90 there and is certainly the best option, I guess.

Now I'm left with no choice but to buy the hardcopy from gameshop around...at a price around RM130-180 sad.gif with many shops out of stock.
Tried steam as recommended in the thread above but couldnt find the game as well, only trailers.

I must say the region restriction for Square Enix account is really giving me a headache.

Please someone enlighten me on getting a digital copy of EU the easy way.

Thank for the link. I was able to see the game now.
I gave it another try by typing US Steam at Google and do a search it in, seems like US Steam got this game also, but the game itself didn't have any indicator on whether it is a EU/NA version. How can I differentiate them?

It would be definitely a plus if I can continue the subscription via the steam wallet laugh.gif

Thank for the reply!!

So regarding the standard version and CE, the summary is like this?
1.) Standard version (real copy / digital copy), can upgrade to CE version with CE digital upgrade
2.) CE version (real copy / digital copy)

For CE digital copy, I won't able to get those physical bonus items like OST, movie disc, am I right? smile.gif

I most probably will give it a try after the free trial, but currently still investigating the payment method before deciding which region to go. But from the link you provided (SEAGM), it look likes we can still easily get access to the code for both EU and NA?

Preferable to have a physical copy on this instead of a digital one, but most shop seems to be out of stock for the PC version cry.gif cry.gif cry.gif

I see most players here are playing in Tonberry, is there anyone playing in Typhoon?

Coz play at eu server. I have so much fun back then. But due to latency problem. I cant pass titan hard. Coz I keep falling off the base.
I tried 2 month for titan hard. Then decide to quit. Its to much of a pain to start again at asian server. sad.gif
