there are many types of monolidders, it depends on how you look. usually i use thicker eyeliner with light eyeshadow. i dont often use those fancy tri-coloured shadows. there are still plenty of ways to enjoy make up eyeshadows though, i advice you to check on youtube

ok i googled the eyeshadow, those kind of grey colour memang very difficult to pull off without looking like you have blue black. i usually put those kind of "naked" colours (black, grey, brown) on top of my eyeliner to further extend the shadows, so that the eyeliner legitly looks nicer and extended. after all a super thick eyeliner is too glaring sometimes. another style for everyday look is a reasonably thick eyeliner (i like to use pencil coz it looks less glaring when drawn super thick) with a good coloured base eyeshadow like what your friends praised you with, but you can change to either white, gold, peach, shimmery silver also. dont use green, blue, other non-naked colours unless you have a special function.
if youre bored, dabble with other eyeliner colour in replace of black, such as brown, dark blue, dark purple. it's a cool style to vary your look Style 1 that I use with eyeliner + dark shadows extension: http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_kRtu3QFUkWc/TNjn...cantnobody4.jpg Style 2 that your friends currently compliment you with? just eyeliner with white eyeshadow, inspired by Joo Hoo Rin from My Girl K Drama: http://i892.photobucket.com/albums/ac127/j...asJooYooRin.jpg If your monolids are the kind where your eyeliner completely "disappears" when you open your eyes, consider: Winging it out of your lids: https://i.ytimg.com/vi/5s69SPL6e2M/mqdefault.jpg use eyeliner at bottom of eyes: http://37.media.tumblr.com/d00d938d5613a03...1obk0o1_500.jpg OR http://media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/236x/f9/...438e8afd42d.jpg for formal occasions there are still many more ways to enjoy monolidded style but you'll eventually experiment and discover them yourself. note that some colours will particularly suit you more than others. i think i look good in pink, purple, or white eyeshadow, totally want a Naked 3 palette (i like playing with eyeshadows) This post has been edited by cellsone: Aug 5 2014, 02:16 PM |

Elianto retractable pencil eyeliner is the best pencil eyeliner I have ever used. It's so easy to make a nice, thick eye-liner without looking too comical (I think thick eyeliner by using liquid is too... glaring). It's always a must-have in my make up bag when I travel because I only take less than 5 seconds lol unlike liquid where one slight hand movement will disastrously affect your liner results. I only use other pencils when I put false lashes because pencils have many different type of nice colours, and liquid will take some time to dry (I'm so lazy to wait even if it's 5 seconds of closing my eyes).
For the under-eye style, your eyes will look bigger when you open them wide only, and try not to put too heavy on the top otherwise you'll look like you're drawing a spectacles frame. Also, since undereyes are more subtle, use a black eyeshadow to start. ALWAYS apply a base or primer before you put anything on. Anyway, there's no right or wrong on what type of eyeliners you like. I buy every type because they all serve different functions haha. Just my two cents that liquid liner is the most dark and dramatic, so you need to be very precise |

I think it's RM20-25. Btw I noticed that you didn't shape your eyebrows. I think making them neatly trimmed, shaved or plucked makes a huge difference in making your eyes look bigger and presentable.

Eyebrows does make a diff to the overall look. I suck at drawing eyebrows so I just go for embroidery |

yeah, that way it looks more naturally nice. in the real world, people sometimes associate "excessive" make up such as mascara, eyeliner, eyeshadow, lipstick combination as being a "thick makeup" depending on your choice of makeup colour also. in the end i just go for a "either or" sort of style, otherwise it looks excessively "formal or prepared" zzz. just like you i usually use one eyeshadow colour or none at all, but i use naked colours to make sure my eyeliner really stays put. btw dolly wink liquid liner is the best eyeliner i've tried so far, RM20. i literally put it on for the whole day and not SINGLE SMUDGE can be found! It's crazy! It's so dark, fine, and can easily come off if you WANT to wash it out. I just bought two of it haha. the eyeliner just gave me such a huge impression i think im going to try more of their products
the best eyeliner ive ever tried, even shiseido and loreal lose to this dolly wink brand: https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-c_g329ub...a_dollywink.jpg This post has been edited by cellsone: Aug 6 2014, 12:53 PM |

I think monolids can be very beautiful. Mom used to say that when you grow old they don't sag as much as someone with double eyelids.
I think they look best with eyeliner and eyeshadows with gradient. Should stay away from the solid blocks light and pearly/glittery eyeshadows because they make your eyes look bengkak lor.. I personally use Majolica Majorca's jewelling eyes eyeshadow, although I have double lids. I think they would look great on monolids too. But tone down a little on the white pearly shade so your eyes don't look as swollen http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-eh2kXewmHHI/Tq5L...00/PA310050.JPG This post has been edited by Cottoncandyclouds: Aug 8 2014, 02:00 AM |
