The Ampang Line (STAR LRT), truth be told, isn't exactly the most convenient. Have to change lines to get to most important areas like KLCC, KL sentral, Bangsar, Kerinchi.

I'm expecting that for rental market, SkyMeridien would be less sought after. I think people would still prefer to go for 1 direct line, without having to switch stations.

KJ Line (Putra) is one good example of many people living near or within the vicinity of the stations in that line itself. Sure it's convenient as it gets you to KL Sentral and KLCC, but what I don't get is if there are other lines (MRT and Ampang/Sri Petaling LRT) which can interchange with this particular line, shouldn't one be happy to be living near those stations?

Personally, I've gone through interchanges to the KJ Line (Putra), MRT (SBK) Line and even the Ampang/Sri Petaling Line (STAR) and didn't find it an issue. To me, as long as there's a decent public transit line close by, I'm happy with it. The only 2 lines I avoid are the KTM and Monorail due to how long the frequency is in between trains.

A lot of cities worldwide (e.g. Singapore, Tokyo, etc.) with established public transit lines already have multiple interchanges to 2 or more lines and no one there ever complained about it.

He kept mentioning KLCC view for the 2 bedroom units. Do you think we'll get a KLCC view at Tower B? I know it's unobstructed, but the my sales agent kept saying NOT KLCC view. They market it as City view.
*
I probably think it's due to SkyCity. Could be that there's greater progress in relocating those PPR residents? hmm.gif

If it's true that SkyWorld will start developing those PPRs below this project soon, then there will be a slim chance of getting the KL view.

I recall from their brochure that the majority of the smaller units are located at the south for blocks A and B. Larger units, 3 bedders and above, are located at the north for those 2 same blocks facing the mountain range.

never heard of "Sky City" is it development name?
*
Yes, it's SkyWorld's masterplan for that part of Bandar Baru Sentul which includes this project and the below PPR.

Last I read about the SkyCity masterplan is that the PPR folks are slowly being moved out.

wow, this is a super huge plan. Apparently the condos are still on sale.

Which condo are you referring to? This project, the YTL Sentul East condos or Anjung Villa and Rafflesia Condo below the PPR and this project?

On another note, level 9 is currently in progress. If COVID wasn't an issue, i sincerely believe they will be at level 12-15 now or higher. Frankly, i dun care if its delayed as it fits into my plans better. I rather developers take their time and do it well.
*
Agreed, but the progress would've been further ahead by now if it wasn't for that 64 land plot allegation spearheaded by Lim Lip Eng and investigated by MACC. And cleared by the latter nearly a year later (for those who want to know you can do a search in this forum).

But I certainly do hope that this project will be able to meet it's 2021 deadline.

Hi Bro, you again, seems like u have a very negative perception in this project..

Btw i do agree its close but the DUKE was already there (not sure whether it was completed though) when Skyworld launch this project.. Furthermore many condo nowadays are build just beside highway, as long as developer use good quality windows/soundproofing stuff its definitely not a concern..
*
Some people think that there will be those who will skimp on the electricity bill by sleeping with the windows open or even open throughout the day. I mean seriously, the average person are bound to use the a/c during the night when they're sleeping or if it's a really hot day.

Not to say there will not be such people, but for those who bought units facing in that direction, I'm sure they're aware of this and accepted it, regardless if it's for own-stay or investment.

That's true. Before buying I spoke to a buddy of mine in DBKL

He told me this area besides being squatters has been a DBKL equipment and construction storage area for decades so it is unlikely they will relinquish it anytime soon, but I was very aware of this factor when i bought SM (I'm very detailed about these things) so I don't think it's a big issue.  Also after the recent DBKL land thing, they have become very careful in terms of selling land to property/commercial developers so there's that.

On the flipside Whatever happens there will probably take at least 10-12 years (considering present sentiment, DBKL etc). I think many of us would have probably moved to another (hopefully better) home by then. Our generation tends to move more often based on our economic level rclxm9.gif
*
I believe that there will still be land transactions between DBKL and private developers but do agree that they won't be as cavalier as during Ku Nan's time. Hopefully the former will stipulate more stringent conditions such as building walkways to the nearest public transit station, build a park nearby, more exits, etc. before allowing the developer to commence building and selling their project.

It's quite slow actually flex.gif

No thanks to Lim Lip Eng's 64-land plot corruption list which included this project when the whole saga started right after PH's win in GE14 (2018) and the following MACC investigations that came after that. Tan Kok Wai (Cheras MP) was the originator of this list years before, tho.

Just to put things into perspective as to why its construction is impacted. It only recently gained traction middle of last year after those land plots are cleared by MACC.

1)  org ramai kene covid , kenapa dissapointing? dah laa baru register on November.  sweat.gif so fishy
2) 1st time I see DG visit construction site, this must be serious. with the situation of foreign labours this year + the covid rise in construction areas.
there's no denying that workers living condition have been in dire situation and exploid for years.
3) wonder what ministry of HR/ housing is doing on these matters? not much noise is heard. function ke tak diorg ni  sweat.gif
*
Singapore isn't much different than us regarding the treatment of foreign workers, and their Covid-19 dormitory crisis started much earlier (BBC link, CNA Link). In fact, if Covid didn't happen, I'd bet the majority of people here and across the Straits wouldn't be aware of the workers' living conditions.

This problem was already highlighted by RPK (link) along with a few other previous articles highlighting our hunger for foreign workers (legal or otherwise). It is not only the fault of the HR ministry but also the business community that want cheap labour, which gave rise to this situation. Apparently, I'm not surprised if the situation is the same in Singapore.

I do agree that the HR ministry should take the first step to address this, but this also requires a change of mindset among the business community and the public at large.

I don't mean to argue too but Jalan Ipoh is not in Sentul. One would argue that it is next to Sentul though.
*
Always wondered about this too as I thought Jln Ipoh is an area on its own. But The Maple on one side of Jln Ipoh considered itself as Sentul West whereas The Pano and The Birch regarded itself on the former rather than Sentul proper itself. hmm.gif
