I wonder why it is that driving with a wheel makes us that much slower... Even with same aids on as keyboard drivers. I only use TC HIGH and Stability HIGH. I won't quit until I find the answer. Wasn't this game designed for use with wheel first of all? Ever seen real cars driven by keyboard ?
AS for those with braking problems in the first corner or when tailgating someone to a corner, the answer is simple. When you follow a car too close, you lose LOTS of downforce on the front and some but less at the back because of the front car causing disturbance in the air pocket it leaves behind. The air flowing onto your wings is very turbulent and unsteady, not smooth as the car gets in front.

The braking...using the legs to the pedals for braking is longer compare to
fingers on the keyboard.
Some experts in rFactor told me, put all aids OFF and see how keyboard players
struggle
Don't quit yet...rFactor is the real thing.
All aids OFF is real racing.
Can go faster too.

this information applied in F1C? quite technical...
maybe is bcos the keyboard is either 100% or 0% throttle/brake... u can push harder and brake harder... so for MOMO maybe u all can apply 50% or 75% only, maybe is tat why u slow... or u try the "keyboard style" on ur momo, either 100% or 0% only... maybe use finger will have faster respond than legs i think...
What's the point of buying a MOMO if we're using keyboard style of driving.
No real feeling lah.
Fingers are faster than legs.
Besides...comparing keyboard buttons with pedals? No contest.

Man, I've tried rFactor again last night and this afternoon. Veeeery addictive.
F1C feels like an old game compared to rFactor.
Control: Wow! Again, it makes F1C look and feel like an old game. TRACTION CONTROL, you can drive a bit easier with it OFF. The difference? You can hear and feel the difference with force feedback. The car is much more nervous than F1C, you can follow real close and have more control/sensitivity around an other car. The brakes and steering respond much better than F1C.
The sounds: The engine sounds are amazing! You know that roaring high screaming distorted sound an f1 engine makes when you're in neutral and rev to the max quickly in quick successions? Sweeeeeeet

Wait until you hear it in 7th gear at full revs, screaaaaaaaming! The sounds are all great overall. The sounds are so sensitive you even get the wobbling sound effect that an engine makes when you hit bumps or run on dirt/grass.
I'm buying it. I think it's the next game to have for racers. Many Mods, no cheats and great addons, can even download tracks and all when you connect to a server.
You can download a free trial version, limited to 2 cars 2 tracks. Well worth a try.
I'm also thinking moving to rFactor.
Try all aids OFF...except Clutch.
Now I understand why in F1C..the pole position in all the circuits were slower.
It's hard driving with a MOMO.
