Not really sure what classes you are having, but these should be balanced enough icon_rolleyes.gif
15.6"
Lenovo Flex 2-15, i7-4510U + Nvidia 840M + (1920x1080 IPS; touch)+ 8GB SSGD + 500GB HDD@RM2799[2.3kg], 4GB, W8

MSI GP60-2PEY, i5-4200H + Nvidia GT840M + (1920x1080; anti-glare) @RM2899[Dynaudio], 4GB, 750GB HDD, W8.1

The Lenovo may be better in terms of computing speed and CPU power, but since its light and slim, it will probably be hotter than the MSI icon_rolleyes.gif

Perhaps this one:
15.6"
Asus
K551LN-XX251H, i5-4200U + Nvidia 840M@RM2299, 4GB, 1TB, W8.1

Upgrade RAM to 8GB icon_rolleyes.gif

But please take note that Asus Malaysia's warranty service is not good icon_rolleyes.gif

How come Mum's is cheaper than yours?  brows.gif  brows.gif

For mum:
15.6"
Dell
Inspiron 15 3000, i3-4005U + Intel HD4400@RM1349[2.4kg], 4GB, 500GB, Linux, 4-cell, spill-resistant KB, 2 years Pro support; W8.1SL@RM1499
Inspiron 15 3000, i3-4005U + Nvidia 820M@RM1599[2.4kg], 4GB, 500GB, 4-cell, spill-resistant KB, 2 years Pro support, W8.1SL

*extend warranty to 3-5 years on-site warranty service, should be within budget. Can upgrade to 8GB RAM as well- more future proof
*not exactly a super great laptop, but at least with Dell, you don't have to worry about your mum bugging you to help fix the laptop if anything happens laugh.gif

For you:
14"
Lenovo Ideapad Flex 2-14, i5-4210U + Nvidia 840M +(1920x1080; IPS touch)@RM2499[2kg], 4GB, 500GB, W8.1, 2 yrs; colors: red/white

*Upgrade RAM to 8GB at least. This is a light laptop, so try not to expect too much in terms of cooling and solidness laugh.gif
*
hehehe because my mom don't really use the laptop apart from watching drama and email so basic specs is enough.

For my computer, sorry if i didn't mention before but I don't really need touch screen and the flex function. Mainly is the core and if can, light. I know lenovo laptops tend to heat up easily so thats gonna be very bad especially in Malaysia when the hot weather and I don't have the airconditioner on 24/7.
Is there other laptops to recommended? Lenovo is still ok but maybe not flex cause maybe other series should be better? I don't know, ill let the sifu recommend biggrin.gif

Anyways, sorry for the long text and thanks for doing all these despite getting nothing. I appreciate your work! Good job thumbup.gif

Haha, I know what you mean man, was just teasing laugh.gif

Most notebooks come with touchscreen already haha, still, can consider these too:
15.6"
Asus
K551LN-XX251H, i5-4200U + Nvidia 840M@RM2299, 4GB, 1TB, W8.1

HP
Pavilion 15-N227TX, i5-4200U + Nvidia 840M@RM1849[2.33kg], 4GB, 500GB, Ubuntu
Pavilion 15-p036TX, i7-4510U + Nvidia 840M@RM2499[BeatsAudio], 8GB, 1TB, freeDOS; W8.1@RM2699

Lenovo Z50-70, i5-4210U + Nvidia 840M + (1920x1080)@RM2399, 4GB, 1TB, W8.1, 2 yrs

*prices in RRP
All these are regular notebooks and will get hot when under load (gaming), its unavoidable nod.gif
Just try to provide proper ventilation for your notebook icon_rolleyes.gif

Hello all,

Preferred brand: Asus, or Lenovo (any other suggestion)
Budget: 2.5k to 3k
Usage: Photoshop, Autocad, 3dsmax, light gaming
Screen size: 14-15"

I'm looking for one that's around 2-2.5kg, and battery life around 3hours at least. Longer is better if there's any tongue.gif Thanks!

Closest!
13" Lenovo
Yoga 2-13, i5-4200U + Intel HD4400 + (1920x1080 IPS; touch) + 16GB SSHD + 500GB HDD@RM2999, 8GB, 2 years; colors: grey/orange

* No real SSD though haha
* No anti-glare or matte surface as well, those are usually limited to MSI models, or super expensive models laugh.gif
* Battery life won't be as long as you expect, my guess is around 5 hours with Wifi
* Not sure got Backlit or not, please check yourself icon_rolleyes.gif

If you are more adventurous, get this:
14"
Lenovo Ideapad Flex 2-14, i5-4210U + Nvidia 840M +(1920x1080; IPS touch)@RM2499[2kg], 4GB, 500GB, W8.1, 2 yrs; colors: red/white

*upgrade to 8GB RAM, use remaining budget to throw in a full SSD (128/256GB)
Again, no anti-glare/matte or >7hours battery life
*
Thanks for the recommendations. But maybe I'm just looking for ultrabook as the design is elegance. thumbup.gif
Still doing survey on this kind of laptops smile.gif

Depends on the model, if the RM3.3k model then sure not worth it laugh.gif
But for the RM4.2k model, then its a steal..
Make sure you get the right one nod.gif

*Take note Asus Malaysia's warranty service is not good

Can consider this one, but they are selling off real fast hmm.gif
15.6"
Lenovo Y50-70 (59-422941), i7-4710HQ + Nvidia GTX860M + (1920x1080 anti-glare)@RM3599[2.4kg], 8GB, 1TB, red backlit KB, FreeDOS, 2 yrs

Otherwise, its best to save a bit more. You will get better picks (better GPU) with a RM4k budget nod.gif

Unfortunately I can't save up soon enough and it's over my budget adding on the fact it is a DOS. Would the Y410p be the best choice under 3.5k?

1. Preferred Brand:No preferred brand.
2. Budget:RM4k+/-
3. Usage:gaming, heavy multitasking, some Microsoft office usage
4. Preferred laptop/screen size:none as long as within my budget

Currently eyeing on lenovo y50, illegear re-15 and gigabyte p27 after some researches but having dilemma on choosing which since I can try Lenovo y50 in my area but then illegear is on promo(free ssd upgrade very tempting).
