I'm looking for a new laptop for replacing my 5-year old ASUS K40AB, in which is already unable to run newer games properly & giving me problems that replacing the parts or cleaning it won't do any justice to it. So, here's my requirements for a replacement notebook PC.

1. Brand: Dell/ASUS/Lenovo/Acer
2. Budget: RM3k or so
3. Usage: Playing games (e.g SR4, NFS Shift 2 etc), surfing Net etc.
4. Laptop/screen size: 14-in to 15.6-in

Any help & recommendations would be appreciated.

Brand : anything (prefer asus, msi, acer), no apple/mac please

Budget : rm2100 - 2500 MAX (need the extra for bags, accessories and last min purchases)

Usage : -adobe photoshop & illustrator CC
-auto max 3D
-the sims 3 (complete 20 games/packs) HIGH setting <3
-the sims 4 MED setting
-dayz & GTA 5 MED setting
-minecraft, other min 4GB - 8GB games
-mainly gaming, designing and office works/multi tasking(heavy usage of RAM)

Screen size : 15+ inch

Extra preference :
1) If possible with my low budget, prefer intel i5/i7, nvidia GTS+ class (NO amd, I'm more of an intel kaki tongue.gif)

2)Prioritise in speed and graphic and multi tasking.

3) NO TOUCH SCREEN AT ALL, NO TOUCH SCREEN (feel like it just burn my money when i could have buy a better spec )

4) have 2 slot for RAM (future upgrade for 16GB  )

5) HDD 500GB++

Programmes to run (sometimes concurrently):  Autocad, Sketchup, Revit, Photoshop, Lumion etc (for Architecture student)

Budget:  <RM6000

Brand:  no specific one, but prefer to be one with easy to reach service center from SKudai Johor.

DOS version preferred because Microsoft has student discount windows 8.1pro only rm215.
Portability is important. (Dont need too portable such as ultrbook.
i7, nvidia dgpu with cuda.
3-5 hours battery life.
Good screen.
Good cooling.

Actually I'm looking at Acer V Nitro 15in and lenovo y50. I like the y50 more and it does have dos version. It has good cooling too. The only problem is the TN screen. I'm comfortable to replace the screen to IPS screen but it doesn't seems that I can buy the replacement screen anywhere in Malaysia.

I'm open to other alternative choices as well. I'll be buying the laptop in late q2. Should I also wait for Intel 5th gen cpu? Thanks in advance to all sifus
