Arturo Vidal’s agent ‘working around clock’ on Manchester United transfer

Arturo Vidal’s agent Fernando Felicevich is now working around the clock to get his client a transfer to Manchester United – despite Juventus insisting he will stay.

Felicevich has already had a busy summer after sorting out Alexis Sanchez’s £32million transfer to Arsenal from Barcelona, but the Vidal deal would be bigger.

Reports say he is now working all hours to try and orchestrate Vidal’s switch to Old Trafford, with the agent now in Italy talking to Juventus about a deal.

The Italian club said yesterday that they expect to keep the Chilean but Felicevich has apparently presented an offer from United for them to consider.

Felicevich’s rush with this deal comes with Juve wanting to confirm their squad for the new season by the time they jet off to Indonesia on August 6.

Juve won’t consider any sales by that date so time is running out to make this transfer happen.

Simeone confirms Hernandez interest

"He's great in one-on-one situations and he's someone who could be useful to any team," the Atletico coach told a press conference in Mexico, ahead of his team's pre-season friendly with Club America.

"We are speaking to the sporting directors about the type of player we want and then it's up to them to bring the player in. With Javier Hernandez and lots of other great players, anything is possible. We can't close any door until the transfer window shuts."

QUOTE(zenix @ Jul 31 2014, 09:18 AM)

LWB : Shaw, James, Januzaj, Nani
RWB : Rafa, TonyV, Young, Zaha

CB : Evans, Smalling, Jones, Keane, Blackette
CM/DM : Herera, Carrick, Clev, Fletch, Afro
AM : Kagawa, Mata, Lingard
ST : Rooney, RVP, Welbz, Chicha, Keane

*
IMO, not everyone in bold can carry out the wingback role properly, I dun think Adnan is built for that. Tony V have played RB before so that wingback role is not foreign to him.
Young did well in the friendly, could be his lifeline to continue his career here.
Other than that, i dun see Nani, Adnan and Zaha occupying wingback roles anytime soon..

nani was playing up front with Zaha. Shaw was playing LWB. Young moved to RWB.
Adnan is in carrington building his fitness. Didn't join the tour cause of wc

that Nani fella i dunno what he doing. he shouldve grabbed his chance with both hands. He was given more like a ROnaldo at Real's role. shouldve use his dribble and speed to get at goal. when plating as winger, always shoot dun wan pass, now play up front wanna pass dun wan shoot. betul2 mau kena shoot this fella doh.gif but it was really embarrasing for him to come off after coming on for 2nd half... poor fella, hope his agent already find suitors for him. aged 27, he's supposed to be peaking now sad.gif

QUOTE(andrewtho @ Jul 31 2014, 11:36 AM)
Nani...tried too hard to emulate CR7 but never materialized. WB is a tough position to play in, which Shaw admitted that he underestimated the role which is good because he is willing to work hard to impress the boss.

The CM position still worries me, although we have plenty in that department, it does not mean that it is good enough to challenge other teams. Vidal is a good choice, add more steel to the midfield with Fletch/Carrick/Cleverely playing back-up/rotation role. As good as he is, I don't see Carrick playing much as compared to the last two season if we sign Vidal.

Neways, good to see Fletch back at full fitness.
*
----- Fletcher ---Herrera---

-----------Mata-------------

IMO, the above is the current top 3 players for the positions. backup for Fletch and Ander would be cleverly and carrick. backup for Mata is Kagawa/Rooney.

[/U]Attack:
from what we've seen of Herrera, he's gonna be the difference this season. box to box, meaning, when attacking =

--------------------Fletch----------------
-Valencia--------Herrera-----------Shaw
---Mata---------RVP---------Rooney----

6 players attacking, so basically only 1 sitting midfield(Fletch) plus 3 CBs to standby for oppo's counter attack.

when defending:

Valencia-Smalling-Jones-Evans-Shaw
------ FLetch--Herrera------------------

7 players defending plus currently defence playing very high line (which has its disadvantages). Meaning opposition would be forced to play the ball along their defence line till they find a way thru.

Teams like Barca would love to play against us every week sweat.gif coz they would slice thru us with their tiki-taka passing

bootom line, LVG mentioned he had to use 3-5-2 so that all the players can play and he could evaluate them. so, there are chances we would change tactic come the beginning of the season. I'm sure Adnan, Zaha and the wingers are heaving a headache right now, gotta choose between a fwd role or a wingback role rclxub.gif

PS: just my opinion, dun shoot sweat.gif icon_rolleyes.gif

Yes we do have the personal for CM but currently it's more quantity than quality. If we can sign someone like Strootman/Vidal and another reliable CB, we can challenge for the title next season.

With our currently squad, imagine if Herrera gets injured, we will struggle to fight for top 4. We can't rest on our laurels based on the friendly result.

We have the biggest squad but not the most quality.
*
agree with you in parts, but, on the 'more quantity than quality' , adding a vidal/strootman is an option, but that would leave 3 CMs on the sideline ie Fletch, Carrick, Cleverly. Getting these guys to excel in the new tactic is another (better) option, imo.

When we say quality, fletch, carrick and cleverly (from last match tongue.gif ) not enuff quality? i think they are quality players but was not operating in an effective tactic last season. Few years back, Carrick was automatic choice for 1st eleven under SAF. What i'm trying to say is, tactic will, more or less, indicate whether that player is quality or not. i think cleverly excels in the current formation, the so called 'sideway pass king' got many options now with our formation so wide drool.gif hahaha...

The CMs should only be tasked with holding the midfield and protect the back 3 CBs, coz wingbacks would be happily joining in attack plays. So, no need for the 'Anderson drivethru" from midfield...

Plus, LVG indicated that hes looking to add for defence saja. that probably means the boss is comfortable with the current midfield players. SO, do hope, as i still do, that we get Vidal, but dun hope too high ya kawan2 biggrin.gif

when without ball possesion, in those friendly, can see rooney and welbeck split to sides to contain oppo fullbacks while Mata stays uptop against oppo CBs, and then Herrera or fletcher follow oppo CMs who wanna get the ball from their backline. and all these while with our backline holding highline almost inside the centre circle. very cun ar! last season not like this, CMs all just wait for oppo to enter our half and build up attack. Now, either very fast can gain back possesion or the oppo 2 CBs play ding dong with each other tongue.gif...
so all in all, formation is not set one, will vary from time to time

Vidic backs Reds for success

http://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/spo...nemanja-7538469?

QUOTE
"I was in the dressing room with the players after the game and they were all positive and happy with everything that is happening at the moment.
"That is a good sign. I am pleased to see that.
"They are happy with what they are doing and for that reason it will not be difficult for them this year."

QUOTE
But Vidic thinks Evans, Smalling and Jones are good enough to make the step up and become first-team regulars this year.
"Of course I think they are good enough to do it," the former United skipper said when asked about the trio.
"I was sure of that even when I played with them. I said then they have really good potential, physically and technically.
"They are really good and they are young.
"They are getting better and better every year.
"In the next two years they will be I think some of the best defenders in the league. I think they will prove that this season and I wish them all the best."

Lazio have announced the signing of Netherlands international Stefan de Vrij from Feyenoord.

The centre-back has put pen to paper on a five-year deal with the Italian outfit, which will keep him at the Stadio Olimpico until the summer of 2019.
"Lazio really proved that they wanted me and I am very happy I have made this move”

QUOTE
Patrice Evra: Looking forward to the challenge ahead with Juventus
“The sensation here at Juve is incredible.
“I start a new adventure. I come from a club like Manchester, where I won everything and now I'm here with the Bianconeri where I have done nothing yet.
"I am someone who likes to win, I chose a team like Juve to win and I will do my best to give all that I can for the club, for the fans, for the coach and for my team-mates.

I WOULDN'T refuse anyone! Manchester United's Javier Hernandez responds to Inter interest
“I know there is much interest in me from the Italian club and I thank them for this,” Hernandez told Italian paper Corriere dello Sport.
“There are also other teams and everything obviously is pleasing, but right now I belong to Manchester United and it would be disrespectful to mention other teams even though I do not know what will happen once the tour of the US concludes.
“Do I liked the Nerazzurri? They are a great club, but if I were to transfer, I would not say no to any club.
“Italian football, however, is amongst the best in the world, I have followed it since I was little and it would be a very important showcase at a personal level.
“I am a professional player, I am committed and working in this direction, ready for any eventuality, but at this moment I cannot say any more.”

EVRA: "NANI WOULD BE A GREAT PURCHASE"
NEW JUVENTUS SIGNING URGES CLUB TO SIGN FORMER MAN UNITED TEAM-MATE

New Juventus signing Patrice Evra has urged the Serie A champions to sign former Manchester United teammate Nani, Sky Sports reports.
The French left-back also claimed that United manager Louis van Gaal intended to make him captain if he chose to stay at Old Trafford.
But Evra decided to end his Red Devils career after 379 games, joining Juventus on a two-year deal following the transfer of England wonderkid Luke Shaw from Southampton.
“Manchester United wanted to keep me and they also wanted to give me the captain’s band,” he stated.
“Van Gaal was disappointed to see me go away, but I had already made a choice.”
Meanwhile Portuguese teammate Nani has been heavility linked with a move away from Manchester, and Evra believes the skillful winger would be a great addition to his new club.
He added: “He is a great player and it was a privilege for me to play with Nani.
“If Juve are interested in him, I can only say that Nani would be a great purchase.”
Nani only made 13 appearances for Man United last season, scoring one goal.

kagawa should be staying coz LVG did mentioned tht he was impressed with kagawa. so Mata's immediate backup would have to be shinji, although LVG might consider Ander as well... .
