Phil Jones forced to borrow cash from Manchester United coach Tony Strudwick during club's USA tour

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/...s_campaign=1490

QUOTE
The United coach added: 'Should have paid me for his poor banter all afternoon.'
It appears it isn't the first time the England defender has forgotten his wallet after United team-mate Ashley Young replied to Strudwick's tweet with: 'no shock there with @PhilJones4 haha'
The fitness specialist responded to Young, adding that Jones had: 'Gave it the "My card doesn't work abroad shout"!'
Jones, who is reported to earn around £50,000-a-week, didn't deny Strudwick's accusations and later tweeted: 'cheers Strudz'
A source told The Sun: 'Phil has been getting some stick from the lads.
'He's pretty forgetful and always seems to have left his wallet at home when he's out. He's like the Queen because he never seems to carry any cash.'

Xavi: Only regret is not playing with Scholes

QUOTE
"When I think about all I have won with Spain and Barcelona and all they great players I have played with - it is impossible for me to have any regrets," said Xavi.
"Maybe one small regret is that I never got to play with Paul Scholes - but I was never going to leave Barcelona and he was never going to leave Manchester United."

Manchester United’s Back Three, and the Changing Face of Premier League Defending

http://grantland.com/the-triangle/manchest...ague-defending/?

QUOTE
The most obvious reason to play a back three is to counteract an opposition playing two strikers. Each defender can body up to a striker, with a third left to clean up behind. No fancy schemes, no interchanging positions, or complex patterns of movement. Just three versus two. But that becomes a problem against teams that play only one striker. When that happens, you risk having three defenders with only one pure attacker to deal with, and your opponent gets a numerical advantage elsewhere on the field.

Manchester United make £8m move for De Jong

http://www.goal.com/en-gb/news/2892/transf...08/06/5013879/-?

QUOTE
But executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward has been working tirelessly behind the scenes in a bid to strengthen the Dutchman's options - and having identified De Jong as a potential recruit, met with the Milan midfielder's representatives in London on Tuesday.

WHY BARCA TOOK THE SHIRT OFF HIS BACK

http://www.stakeholdergroup.com/opinion/wh...t-off-his-back/
QUOTE

However, perhaps the greatest compliment paid to Scholes came just before and after his final minutes as a professional player. In the aftermath of United’s Champions League final hammering at the hands of Barcelona, Scholes could be seen strutting off the Wembley pitch wearing the shirt of Barca midfielder Andres Iniesta, having been pursued by the Spaniard straight after the final whistle to swap jerseys. What Scholes did not realise at the time was that Iniesta only got to make the request after drawing lots with four of his team-mates – Lionel Messi, Xavi, Pedro and Sergio Busquets.

That’s right. In the countdown to the biggest club football match on the planet, the best player on the planet (Messi, of course) was locked in a battle with four of his team-mates for the right to ask Scholes for his jersey at the end of the game.

Marouane Fellaini: I'll talk to Louis van Gaal before leaving Man United

QUOTE
BELGIUM star Dries Mertens is desperate to link up with Marouane Fellaini at Napoli.

But the Manchester United flop has told him he'll have showdown talks with Louis van Gaal before deciding his future.

The Italian giants are interested in snapping up Fellaini, who arrived at Old Trafford for £27.5m last year. A move could depend on whether Van Gaal can reinforce his squad before deadline day.

Mertens said: "Fellaini is a great player and we have played together a lot.

"I asked him the question that everyone wants to ask him: Whether he is going to complete a transfer to Napoli.

"He gave me the answer that he needs to talk to Louis van Gaal first.

"Every time I go to the Belgium national team I have good words for Napoli. I really love the city and the team and wearing the blue shirt for me is like a dream.

"Fellaini knows that Naples is a special city and Napoli a special team. Obviously I'd love to play with him.

"Though I would prefer not to talk about him too much because he is not one of our players."

Depending on which version and which platform you are on. Ultimate Edition is slightly more expensive than the standard one.
Not really, since FIFA14 on the PS4, the crowds are more realistic already and with FIFA15, it will be even better. Next-gen pedo win!  notworthy.gif

but i still feel fifa gameplay not realistic still. sometimes feel like they skidding on the grass, like not accurate footsteps on grass. but really like all the modes that they have...

1 thing that i dislike most is, the name on the back of the shirts, why can't they design it right? the shorter the name, the bigger it's displayed...

Shinji Kagawa: We've learned a lesson

QUOTE
Shinji Kagawa has vowed he and Manchester United will use the disappointment of last season as a "trigger" to improve this term.
The Japan midfielder made 14 league starts in 2013/14 but was not entirely satisfied with his contribution as the Reds finished outside the European places in seventh. He believes team-work and honest endeavour is the key for both him and United to achieve success under new manager Louis van Gaal.

"When I look back, last season was tough," Kagawa told ManUtd.jp. "I will use that frustration as a trigger to express myself this season, challenging myself to do new things. I'll work hard to achieve goals and results. I'm really enjoying myself, it's my third year with United and I know my team-mates very well.

"We've learned a lesson from last season. It is important for us to stick together and work towards the same goal. We can do much better if we can bring out the best of ourselves. We want to keep succeeding in the manager's new system, and we want to win trophies. That's what the fans expect."

Van Gaal tried some of his squad members in new positions on the pre-season tour of the United States. Ashley Young was deployed as a wing-back, Wilfried Zaha played up front and Kagawa adopted a holding midfield role.

"It has been seven or eight years since I played as a defensive midfielder, but the important thing is I do my best in whatever position I am asked to play in," Kagawa said. "I have to achieve results wherever I play.

"The boss told me to be mindful about the distance between defensive midfielders and to be more conscious of the choices I make when I receive the ball – in other words, how I should help build the attack."

shocking.gif shocking.gif looks like CAM is between Rooney and Mata, while kagawa drops deeper to fight for CM/DM spots with Hererra, Carrick, Fletcher, Cleverly, Fellaini?

Fiorentina president confirms Juan Cuadrado interest

QUOTE
Fiorentina president Andrea Della Valle has strongly hinted that Juan Cuadrado could be on his way out of the club.

Colombia World Cup star Juan Cuadrado looks like he could be heading out of Fiorentina this summer.

An article on the website of Italian transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio quoted the club's president Andrea Della Valle as saying:

"I asked Cuadrado to stay, but I'm not optimist. If some important offers arrive, we'll have to let him go. We set the deadline to decide about it on August 15th, if the offers we have in mind will arrive, it will be impossible to keep him."
August 15th.

For the uninitiated, Cuadrado has been one of the stars of Serie A over the last couple of seasons. The tricky Colombian has proven himself adept on both flanks and in all positions on them, including in a wing-back role not dissimilar to what he'd play if he actually joined United.

Cuadrado is extremely quick and very skilful, and certainly not afraid to take on his opposite number. His crossing is usually accurate, and over the last season he even added a lethal finishing ability to his other attributes. At this moment, he's pretty much everything Antonio Valencia isn't, and almost everything United could want on their right side.

The bad news: Bayern Munich are said to be strongly interested too.

That gives United exactly a week to lodge a bid. Get on it, Ed.

Louis van Gaal axes seven Manchester United stars

http://www.givemesport.com/493504-louis-va...ars?flyingspaghettiplay=on

QUOTE
Javier Hernandez, Marouane Fellaini, Wilfried Zaha, Will Keane, Nani, Anderson and, perhaps most surprisingly, Rafael have all been told they have no futures at Old Trafford, according to information obtained by the Daily Mail. Japan international Shinji Kagawa, however, has been told that he can stay with the Red Devils - provided he is content to be behind Juan Mata and Ander Herrera in the pecking order.

daily mail journo pasang camera in LVG office izit for them to have these info?? already short of defenders, how la rafael can be shown the door, unless LVG tak suka shorty defenders ka?

Klopp: Hummels is going nowhere

QUOTE
Borussia Dortmund coach Jurgen Klopp reiterated on Monday that new captain Mats Hummels will not be leaving the club.
Hummels has been extensively linked with a move to Manchester United throughout the close-season but a day after the central defender was confirmed as Dortmund's new captain, Klopp again argued he will not let the 25-year-old leave the Westfalenstadion.
Speaking ahead of the DFB Supercup against Bayern Munich, Klopp said: "He (Hummels) is going nowhere. He is staying with us."
Hummels has a contract with Dortmund until June 2017.

Adnan Januzaj set for #7 or #11 Manchester United shirt?

QUOTE
Manchester United have dropped the biggest hint yet that Adnan Januzaj could be set for one of the most famous jersey numbers at the club. After an meteoric rise to fame, the young Belgian found himself at the World Cup with his nation, just over six months after making his professional debut for Manchester United. As you can see from the picture below, ‘Alisha2496′ claims that Manchester United told her not to get a number on the back of her shirt because the rumour is that Januzaj will change it. She also goes on to say that we’ll find out more about his number on Thursday, meaning that the club could officially announce the squad numbers then, ahead of the Premier League season starting on Saturday.
