Hi guys I've been following this thread and I'm really really interested in the Suprima S right now. I have never own a Proton before, but the general perception of Proton being Proton is hitting me hard. All thanks to the Proton bashers and the general public. Though my father had a few Protons God knows how long ago, but I was too young to be bothered. rolleyes.gif I currently drive a Myvi 1.5 and contrary to the general perception, Perodua ain't that great either. It has a few quirky mechanical problems here and there. They still persist until today despite sending it in a few times to the SC for ratification. I finally gave up after almost 3 years.

I test drove my friend's Saga BLM and Persona before and I just love how a Proton rides and handle. The Lotus inspired handling as marketed is no empty promise I would say. I even dare say that the Persona just performs so well at the corners, that it's comparable or perhaps even better than my father's F30 3 Series. tongue.gif So I believe all in all that the Suprima S will not fail in this department.

So I really need to know about the QC, reliability and performance as according to your real world ownership experience out there. I checked out the car and yes the plastic is "cheap" as many would say. But bear in mind that most cars today are plastic anyways. The current gen BMWs have lots of plastic and with that suffers from rattling noise as well.

Forget about the all the other cars in the same price range, all except for the new Honda Jazz and Ford Fiesta. But the Suprima S is on top of my list right now. I just want a car which is fun to drive and yet reliable. I don't really care about brand perception, so what if I drive a Proton. But the truth is we always have to compromise one thing for another. So it's up to you guys to help me seal the deal! I'm going to be stuck with either of these cars for at least 5 years before I can even consider changing car, so I need to make a wise choice here.

Hey guys, thank you so much for the info.I finally took the plunge and placed a booking with Vincent. Highly recommended SA, very professional. Look for him if you happen to live in PJ. Can't wait for mine to arrive!

By the way guys, is there a common checklist for which I need to take note of upon delivery? Anything else other than the helicopter brakes and wiring harness?

Congrats on the car. What colour?

Make sure you get the microsd card. I guess vincent will let you know.

Things to note of, make sure the maps are updated. Not sure if HU got firmware update.

Silver. Yeah I know it's a very uncommon colour for the SS. Chose the colour because it's easier to maintain and upkeep. It's also for the "professional" look. Hahaha. Wanted blue but Vincent said there's a backlog of orders.

And thanks for the heads up.
