I test drove my friend's Saga BLM and Persona before and I just love how a Proton rides and handle. The Lotus inspired handling as marketed is no empty promise I would say. I even dare say that the Persona just performs so well at the corners, that it's comparable or perhaps even better than my father's F30 3 Series.
So I really need to know about the QC, reliability and performance as according to your real world ownership experience out there. I checked out the car and yes the plastic is "cheap" as many would say. But bear in mind that most cars today are plastic anyways. The current gen BMWs have lots of plastic and with that suffers from rattling noise as well.
Forget about the all the other cars in the same price range, all except for the new Honda Jazz and Ford Fiesta. But the Suprima S is on top of my list right now. I just want a car which is fun to drive and yet reliable. I don't really care about brand perception, so what if I drive a Proton. But the truth is we always have to compromise one thing for another. So it's up to you guys to help me seal the deal! I'm going to be stuck with either of these cars for at least 5 years before I can even consider changing car, so I need to make a wise choice here.
