Taiming belt tarak bunyik. Bila sampei mase die, patah trus atawpon belt slip. Biase tukar dalam 3~4 tahun. Terpulang bape hang sayang keta. Dulu Ganjil 660 aku, sampei 14 taun baru tukak itu belt. Makcik tertanya ape itu taiming belt Cam cover mia skru masi ada cat marking warranty tak pernah bukak pon

Itu bunyik FEAD(akon belt). Keta ku sudah bunyik macam tu since I bought the car 2 years ago. Klu hang berani agi, kasi sapu lilin kat tepi FEAD belt, nanti itu bunyik akan ilang.

No need to do anything to it. The rubbish tak tak tak sound is either the built in purge valve for IAFM+ or the external purge valve for IAFM on older model, which happened more frequent on BLM/FL. However, 1 should note that the sympthoms of having bad purge valve is slightly different than having loose shims on the valve tapper. Bad purge valve will have sound like "tock tock tock tock" very loud & bassy noise, whereas loose valve shims will have sound like "tek tek tek tek", milder & higher pitch sound.

To repair purge valve for IAFM/IAFM+, just replace it for a small price to pay, usually within 200. If u wish to get rid of the ticking noise from valve shims, it needs to take off the entire engine head, detach 16valves, regrind the valves, clean up the engine head thoroughly with petrol, soak it on high detergent engine oil over night, reseat the valves, put in new shims, plot a new set of head gasket(recommend to use organic gasket instead of metal gasket to avoid leakage, once u open the engine head there's no guaranteed straightness of the head). Then your engine will be silent as new. Oh & probably need a new set of timing belt after the top overhaul. Cost of top overhaul will cost around 1-1.5k depending on labor charges of the workshops.

So, does it worth that much of trouble just to get rid of the noise? Performance wise, don't expect much difference. In the end, its only a restore job.

Ah. Then cheaper to replace then. Izit the same exactly like IAFM?

does it emit rattling sound between 3.5k - 4.5krpm? Or the ticking noise started together with engine idling speed? Even IAFM rosaked also got 2 type after learnt from ericmaxman.

1) No rattling sound at all, below 3krpm the car selow rike carrying 1 gajah, 1 gorilla & me around. Approach 4krpm suddenly felt like <removed> kicked in(IAFM runner valve opened permenantly, long short runner no switching due to actuator rosaked)

2) Got rattling sound below 4krpm. Car felt abslutely normal other than annoying rattling sound. Top end power dipped due to IAFM runner valve jammed, short runner permenantly kolos. Eric Goh fall on this category.

3) Purge valve KO, deter maximum combustion due to too much carbon stuck in the combustion chamber. However, make more sudden acceleration will help to blast out the deposits. Problem is, the purge valve will continue to deteriorate as every time sudden open/shut. In the end when no more tock tock tock sound(actuator totally koyaked), wanna idling also susah due to vacuum leak.

For kes 1, can send to bawah pokok to disable IAFM actuator to prevent valve open/kolos in the future. Car will function exactly like a Gentut 1.3. Better FC on mid range cruising speed, but low end torque dip like mad. Kes 2, usually need a replacement, need confirmation from Eric Goh. However, got article from internet show some bawah pokok magician can poke open the valves and make it permenantly close, can choose to retain low end torque but suffer from top spid, or become kes 1 like old kampro without IAFM.

Kes 3, get the canister purge valve replace

My kes is similar to yours, but kon9lan7fem is tappet noise need to top oberhol baru can setel magician said, bugger like me no need rush to get it fixed coz I use cheap engine oil, and often engine oil expired 9 9 also dun get it replaced(waifu is using the car). So, let's hope yours is not tappet noise, considering u got jaga the car

Bang, jack up itu kete, pusing tayar, pegang esoba dgn tangan cuba rasa ada barang tengah grinding bila tayar pusing. Itu macam cek bearing kondisi. Mana boley hang pusing itu tayar selaju 80kph untuk mendengar itu bunyik. Klu bearing rosaked, memang dalam punya tapper sudah kecik/tawpon itu bearing cover sudah longgar, jadi tapper roller taboley duduk tegak, bile tayar pursing die berbunyik maciam "syak syak syak syak", lagi laju frequency tukar, jadik "ngong ngong ngong ngong ngong".

Parada Sepet 2 mmg boley jadik bunyik bila hang esoba rosaked, tawpon spring terlampau giler babi keras. Esoba rosaked/spring keras sangat, keta selalu lompat, jadik tayar surface makan tak seimbas. Selagi pakei 2~300km maciam tu, tayar sudah tidak bulat. Bila pusing, ade sentuh ada bunyik, tidak sentuh tiada bunyik. Lagi laju, frquency tukar, ma jadik "ngong ngong ngong ngong ngong" la. 2 jenis tayar senang jadik ini maciam, soft compound + hard compound. Falken mmg dalam kategori ini. Klu Parada Sepet 2, hang boley cuba antar kedai tayar, suh dia kasi pusing tayar tengok boley kasi tegak balik mana tayar surface yg tak makan. Nanti harap die sendiri cure balik.
