QUOTE(mingyuyu @ Feb 5 2015, 03:42 PM) what do you mean by that though? how good is the eos m plus after the firmware update which improve its autofocus speed after that? It's an interesting product I would say, still worth the money even if you are using it solely for macro imo. Anyways, fresh picture from my M. ![]() |

QUOTE(lee82gx @ Feb 25 2015, 02:15 PM) Hi guys, new year new mission : My first (and hopefully last) wedding day shoot for my bro in law (as I only have 1 Bro-in-law) Tried with this set up before for my one and only wedding event photography so far:It will be the typical Chinese wedding day, morning with him to fetch the bride and night wedding in restaurant. I'm intensely debating on the gear to bring and would like your opinions: 1 Canon 550D + YN568EX + Tamron 17-50 for the usual situations. 2 Canon 60D + 430Ex+ with either the 35mm F2 or 50mm F1.8? Recently I have come to expect very less of the 35mm in dim situations Auto focus and really kills my mojo. I imagine the shorter length allows for closer portraits (Restaurants) With the 50mm I also expect nothing in AF but will the longer reach be useful and enable slightly better (undistorted) portraits? I suppose a good way would be to carry everything but I really want to avoid lens change. Or should I just go Rambo with 1 lens and enjoy the low weight? FYI above is all the gear I can probably get / carry. Canon 600d + 430ex plus diffuser + tamron 17 50 (can cover 95% I guess) I changed lens to canon 10 18 for big family pictures and inside a tight room. |

A 50 for street photography. Light and not obstructive. Wide angle for landscape or inside building I guess. Should be interesting for street photography too.
If you can carry that 24 70 all day long, it should be enough for one lens setup. After all, you should enjoy your travel journey rather than just worry about your gears |

QUOTE(adam_lss @ Jun 30 2015, 09:27 AM) actually u dont have to, coz the dish itself is warm enough, if u want, u can selectively warm up the noodles only, dont have to warm up the entire shot coz your mint would look orangy pulak... drooling with the brownie alreadyalso, by not placing your bowl on a proper table prior to the shot, that makes people think u are rather lazy too anyway, here's a simple shot of wife's latest brownie ![]() |

QUOTE(vankodoq @ Jul 6 2015, 09:33 AM) Anyone here is using Canon's 10-18mm IS STM lens? How do you think it compares to the 10-22mm? There are lots of reviews on the internet, but it's always nice to learn from you guys. I own the 10-18 now. All i can say is silent focusing and the IS is really helpful. Wide angle lens really a fun lens to use. |

QUOTE(TheWandererX @ Jul 13 2015, 11:39 PM) No longer have time to play as much, so the two lenses I use all the time now is the 10-22 and the broken 17-50. What prime lens do you have?Hm. It sounds like a good option. Will consider. How about larger aperture walkaround lenses? |

Gonna difficult to use it every day unless you in a daily project or it is a tool for you to earn money.
No need to push yourself. Take a break sometimes from photography |

QUOTE(vankodoq @ Jul 30 2015, 07:17 PM) Hmm. Are you using the 18-135mm IS STM? Strange, I tried it with my 70D and the AF is alright. I mean, it's not as fast as my 24-105mm, but it's quite nice. or he is using the non stm version of 18-135 IS? |

QUOTE(vankodoq @ Jul 31 2015, 02:05 PM) Guys, any recommendation for wide-angle lens? I'm thinking of Canon 10-18m IS STM due to its IS and price, but its aperture is only f4.5-5.6. I do think that shooting with wide lens should be alright even with small aperture. But do you guys have any other suggestions? own the lens. if you use to snap landscape, you won't set it to big aperture right? plus most likely you will use long shutter speed which will enable you to capture more light.the IS, from my experience, I can say it is superb. the STM, I can't hear anything at all and can be totally ignored when you are outdoor. I own the tokina before but I found that it was a bit heavy for my liking and with wide angle I seldom use the maximum aperture all the time. I used it indoor before as well. to compensate it, I either bumped my ISO or I add a flash with the camera. |
